  • "Beautiful little cottage in a fantastic setting overlooking the harbour."

The views are sensational. Definitely a property that would be as nice in the depths of winter as in the height of summer. Nice little touches everywhere and a kitchen with all the implements you could wish for. Owner clearly cares both about the property and ensuring that the visitor has a great stay. Would recommend to anyone looking for a base from which to enjoy that part of North Wales.

Pleased you had a fun stay and you are always welcome back. I have put my heart into the property. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved Wenallt!"

It is one of the most beautiful holiday homes we've ever stayed in. From the original features and fittings to the book and art collection, it's a delight to stay in. As well as the aspect and proximity to the high street, pubs etc. and some fantastic coastal walks! The photos do NOT do it justice - particularly the bedrooms, which are really attractive and comfortable, and nicer than they appear on the website. Improvements - you could fit more seating into the lounge to suit a house that sleeps 6. Some larger pots and pans - no big sautee pan, just the one big saucepan.

Thank you for your feedback. I have had new beds , better quality linen, power shower and done the rooms up. I shall be passing Dunelm in Bangor and will get the items. Customer comments allow me to further improve the customer experience. Delight you had a fun time and you are always welcome back. Property Owner

The house was dressed for our Christmas stay and the welcome gifts of crackers, chocolates, bread, milk and wine were greatly appreciated. Would recommend this property for a holiday stay.

  • "Wenallt is a very versatile and cosy historical cottage sitting in the hill above Porthmadog."

We arrived to a lovely welcome pack (milk, bread, biscuits, chocs and wine!). The cottage has everything (and more) you need for a stay - foodies will love the kitchen. There is an open fire and log burning oven. I challenge anyone to find a library as good as Wenallt’s in a holiday cottage on the planet!!! This is the perfect base for walkers, foodies, etc - very cosy for a restorative autumn/winter break as well as an active spring/summer holiday. Perfect for access across the peninsula, the national park and beyond. Criccieth, Harlech, Pwyheli, and Abersoch are a stones throw away. Loved our stay and we will be back!

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and have happy memories. The Howdens Kitchen was recently put in and stocked. The location and views of the mountains, harbour and steam trains cannot be beaten. You are always welcome back. Property Owner

The views from the front of the house over to the cob across the sea, steam railway and mountains are special whatever time of day or night you take a look. No trouble parking outside the property on the road which makes unloading and packing up much easier. The house was nice, comfortable beds with sea views from the two front bedrooms. The garden was lovely but not suitable for young children or people with mobility problems. Large kitchen with table and chairs plus a great dining room. Would book again for next year but the week we want is already taken.

  • "We had a lovely stay, the house was beautiful!"

Just a couple of things - we wanted to sweep up daily and couldn’t find a brush, also each kitchen cupboard was full of items and we had to rearrange quite a lot to get our food and things in. The back door handle was loose and the bathroom door handle was very loose, we didn’t close it all the way for fear of the handle coming off! Loads of plus points though and we would love to come back! Lovely little touches from the owners, location was spot on, no issues with parking, beds were super comfy, house was very roomy for the 6 of us, kids loved the quirky garden. Thank you for having us!

I am delighted you had a fun stay, expensive beds and found the house comfortable. I will get a builder to check out all the door handles (Grade II listed). Thank you for raising this point such feedback is very useful. You are always welcome back. Thank you. Property Owner

The house was comfortable, well presented, full of character and everything had been thought of - even little treats for us and the dogs! There is a lovely dog friendly beach within a short walk. The only downside for us was we had underestimated how steep and narrow the steps to access the garden were - our little dog was fine either them but our bigger dog couldn't go up snd down them which was a pity because the views from the top of the garden and we would have enjoyed spending more time up there with a big glass of wine! But if your dog is fine with steps we would 100% recommend this lovely house. Thank you!

We enjoyed the open fire, and were really grateful to be provided with all the coal, wood etc. that we needed. The kitchen was very well equipped too, we even made fresh bread in the breadmaker while we were there! Was good to have an extra toilet, shower room downstairs if you didn’t want baths but was fine and very clean and modern. Good location, walking distance of town centre was good. • "We had a wonderful stay at Wenallt, it's a beautiful cottage, full of charm and character and furnished very generously by our host Andrew."

We especially enjoyed the open fire in the lounge (as did the dogs!), settling down in front of it with a bottle of wine was the perfect end to a long day's walking. The view overlooking the marina and out into the estuary with the hills beyond was fantastic and not something you would ever tire of waking up to. Porthmadog itself has everything you need, high street stores but also local craft shops as well as a nice selection of delis, cafes, restaurants and friendly pubs most serving generous servings of the 'classics' often with a twist. (*We stayed a little out of season so it's worth checking before you go that the kitchens are open, it's not necessarily the case every night). Location wise you're ideally placed to explore the local area, Portmeirion is literally over the headland, the costal path will take you to Criccieth the other way or, when the tide is out, you can follow the stunning beaches all the way. Snowdon, Beddgelert, Harlech and Bala are all as short drive away and the Llyn Peninsular is there to explore. All in all, just perfect for us and we would absolutely recommend staying. Special thanks to Andrew for his generosity and welcome.

Delighted you had a fun time at Wenallt and packed so much in. Thank you for choosing to stay and you are always most welcome. Property Owner
