The cottage was perfect for us and very pretty! The views really are spectacular! The family that own the cottages and live in the main house are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. My daughter loved being in the country and seeing the cows, sheep and chicken running around. It was a fantastic holiday………I recommend a stay at Glam Clwyd Cottages.

  • "Very well equipped and comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings."

We were contacted by the owners before and during our stay checking everything was ok and on arrival were greeted with wine, chocolates and flowers which was a nice touch. A fabulous pace to stay if you want peace and tranquillity in glorious countryside. If you don’t want to venture out theres lots of walks from the cottage and after all those long walks theres a lovely outdoor pool and hot tub to enjoy. A great base for exploring North Wales. Thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

We came as two families, renting two cottages and felt like the site was our own. The owners were attentive, yet also gave us space. The children enjoyed using the pool and playing in the grounds. Set in beautiful countryside, with a lovely pub close by. We had a fantastic time.

  • "This is our second visit to Glan Clwyd Isa and we will be going again."

The cottage is set in absolute tranquility with space for children to play or just to explore and relax. The cottage itself is clean and homely with the amenities I really appreciate with a family, such as a dishwasher and washing machine. As a family of 6 the cottage gave us room to spend time together and space to choose to stay in, not like we were under each others feet and had to go out. The owners are helpful and communicate quickly with any information or queries. It is truly a great escape for any kind of visitor.

Very helpful when needing to ask questions and the setting was absolutely beautiful. Great location for walking and accessing the coast with a great pub about 1.5 miles away. The cottage itself was very comfortable with nice, traditional features I’d read in previous reviews about cobwebs but you would expect a few in an old building. The only suggestions I would make that would have improved the stay was thicker curtains in the bedroom but it wasn't a big deal. The leather sofa was really comfy and the TV great quality. We took our own cushions and throws as we knew these wouldn’t be available due to covid. We took 2 small frenchies and the slate floor made it stress free and there was room downstairs for the crate. Would definately return we felt so relaxed after our 5 days there thank you!

  • "The setting of the cottage was excellent, we found the owners helpful when we emailed them with any queries."

We kept this to a minimum due to the current issues. The cottage itself needs some TLC as it could be a lot cleaner and some of the furniture is in need of updating especially when the owners are describing it as luxury accommodation. We found that some items such as the cooker and kitchen utensils needed cleaning, the settee and matching chair need changing as they look tired and are past their best. The mattress in the master bedroom needs renewing. Various areas internally and externally have peeling paint or need a good clean. If you require photos of those issues we have mentioned please let us know.

  • "Just driving into the property we were wowed at the beautiful setting and the overall appearance of the cottages."

There was so much space for the children to play freely and the cottage itself really was great. Such a cosy rustic feel with all the appliances and utensils you could possibly need. Having a washing machine and dish washer really helped with being away with the kids. Outdoor seating area and BBQ was also just a lovely addition to out experience. Planning our next visit already. Extra precautions had clearly been made with hand gel and masks etc provided.

  • "Cottage could do with a good clean."

On arriving the bathroom/bedroom floor covered in dead flies and fridge had mould on the shelves. Cottage starting to look dated with the couch uncomfortable and looking very worn. Lovely location and owner had left logs/sticks for the fire and lovely bottle of red wine.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are sorry that you found some flies and the sofa uncomfortable . The cottage was changed over on the Friday prior to your arrival on the Sunday which may have accounted for the flies. We are glad to hear that you appreciated the wine and logs. We are on site and could have sorted anything if it had been flagged to us during your stay and we do have new sofas arriving in the new year. Property Owner

  • "The location of the cottage is fabulous, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with views of the Clwydian Hills."

The grounds are spectacular, and particularly suited to anglers, having both a river and a lake. Our holiday there was primarily for our grandchildren, who hugely enjoyed the heated outdoor swimming pool, which made their holiday a big success. Unfortunately the lake and river weren't all that accessible for young children but marvellous for older kids and adults. The owners are very helpful, having a large patch of nettles on the approach to the swimming pool cut back immediately, once it was brought to their attention. The cottage is very well equipped but getting a little tired in some respects. We particularly appreciated the owners' focus on allowing the grounds to be wildlife friendly, rather than tidy and ordered.

The beds were so comfortable I slept right through the night each night. Plenty of space and walks to exercise the dog from the site. Well placed to easily visit a part of Wales I have never been to. Very friendly hosts who cut the grass down to the river so we wouldnt get our feet too wet with the long grass. A lovely peaceful place I would recommend this cottage.

Brilliant cottage, more than helpful hosts, with amazing scenery, more than adequate facilities for a family of four, restaurants, pubs, Chester Zoo, leisure centres, Cheshire Oaks retail outlet all a short drive away, only downside was the single lane road to cottage which could maybe use a passing place or two but other than that I would strongly recommend the cottage to anyone

The small village of Bodfari is peacefully located in the lovely Vale of Clwyd, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, beneath the imposing Clwydian Hill Range. Steeped in history, the village has taken on many roles, such as a Celtic camp in 500 BC and a Roman encampment, while the original Church of St Stephen pre-dates the Norman Conquest. Today, this pleasant village is home to a pottery gallery, whilst the surrounding area boasts a range of good country pubs and eateries. The Offa's Dyke Pathway is easily accessible and the ancient market town of Denbigh, with its celebrated 13th century castle and pretty streets littered with shops, pubs and restaurants, is just 4 miles away. Endless, beautiful countryside surrounds this lovely area, which offers excellent walking, cycling, fishing, and nature and bird watching opportunities. This is a wonderful base from which to explore the whole of North Wales and the Roman City of Chester.
