Great location and a lot of space in and outside the cottage. Every appliance was available in the house for cooking/ironing etc. and this was such a positive compared to some other rentals been to in the past. The extra touch of supplying us with milk/bread/butter etc was such a lovely thought and we were really great full. Along with the goodie box of toiletries as we know everyone always forgets something! Thank you for having us.

Central to the facilities of Llangollen, yet tucked away and very quiet and peaceful. Welcome pack and a basket of 'things you may have forgotten' which is a great idea. Fresh flowers very welcoming. it was fantastic, how would we rate the cottage out of 10,,, its a 10 and the same rating goes to everything we mention. conservatory, garden, views, facilities, information given/left in cottage, Welcome Pack, tea, coffee left in cupboard's, even something we have never seen in any place we have stayed a basket in the main bedroom full of all kinds of toiletries for ladies and men with a note "If you have forgotten anything please help yourself to ours" what a beautiful thoughtful thing to do, we didn't speak with the Hosts because we had no cause to but we did speak with Andy who looks after the Maintenance of the cottage what a gentleman he was and very helpful, the cottage was warm and very cosy, we spent a lot of the time sat in the garden and the conservatory, i could go on all day without finding fault, it was an absolute pleasure for myself wife and Murphy (dog) to stay and enjoy 21 church street for the week, now after saying this would we be prepared to re book it this again is easy of course we would in fact we are looking as we speak. • "We had such a lovely stay at the cottage."

Such a cosy cottage in such a beautiful location. We spent a pre Christmas Christmas visiting local family and were so excited to see that they had put up a Christmas tree along with our welcome hamper which helped us settle in well. We are a family of 1 adult and 4 children and there was plenty of room for us all to relax and enjoy some peace, and plenty of space for us all to come together and enjoy family time. We absolutely loved the view from the cottage and spent hours in the conservatory watching the birds and the buzzards souring down the valley. The swing at the bottom of the garden was our favourite place to be and even in mid winter we enjoyed sitting there listening to the river and taking in the incredible scenery.... we just needed a hot chocolate to warm us up! The cottage is amazing and had everything you need to enjoy your stay. It feels so cozy and spacious, we absolutely loved it! It is well kept and we loved all the little touches that helped us relax and feel at home. I noticed some other reviews that a few people had mentioned the showers. We are a large family and we shower daily. We found the showers to be perfect and roomy enough for our products to be placed around. I was concerned being mid winter that it may be cold with the tiled floor but the cottage warms up so cosy with the heating on we just used thick socks to keep our feet toasty. There are extra throws you can use to cosy up on the sofas. We were also pleased to see that there was Netflix in the front room as it meant we could watch family films together in the evenings. It's the perfect cottage in the most idyllic location and I would definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for a peaceful escape. We enjoyed every minute. Thank you

Well stocked, welcoming. Couldn’t fault the place and would definitely go back again. We spent most of the time in the conservatory which was so spacious. Cottage very close to the town but also in a very quiet street. Supermarket 2 mins walk and another 10 mins walk away. The parking could be an issue in the busy months but the owners do everything they can to help by giving permits for the street and the long stay car parks. We had two cars - two couples - and only used one car twice during the week. There is so much to do in the town, lovely eateries and public transport if needed. I had to ask the owners something a couple of times and they got straight back to us. Well done you two!!! Thank you for helping to make our holiday so good.

  • "Our second visit."

Just a bit sorry that the previous tenants hadn’t washed some pots. All glassware needed washing before use as did a frying pan and a saucepan - but this is not a big deal. Had fun with parking - not! It was easier in August than February - we were very grateful for the parking permits. Apart from these little niggles, we love the cottage and found it very comfortable. We’d love to visit again. Just one point to make - Church Street is a one way street but the system is opposite to when we stayed 18 months ago. The arrival instructions need to be changed as you can no longer turn right from Cross Lane. You need to turn right down Church Street which is an earlier turning.

Hi so sorry about the glasses I will speak to the lady who does our turnovers to make sure this gets sorted. We will also change the arrival details. We hope you will re-book we are planning further works to the cottage. Thanks Zac & Susan Property Owner

  • "This lovely cottage is perfectly located in the centre of everything."

A few minutes walk from many delicious eateries and a selection of quirky shops. Venturing further afield, but still on foot, there is the beautiful Chainbridge Hotel and Bar - a welcome stop off after a gorgeous stroll along the canal. Castle Dinas Bran is well worth the uphill trek for the stunning views - take snacks and drinks! The outdoor centre SAS Outdoors just along the road offers exhilarating experiences such as White water rafting - we thoroughly enjoyed that event! If someone prefers dry land, the steam train running from Llangollen station at the weekends is a lovely afternoon out - but book your destination restaurant to avoid disappointment. The property itself is beautifully and comfortably presented, with a kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need to cook in whenever the fancy takes you. The only thing that could potentially improve the lovely stay we had (and the ones we plan for the future!) would be a firmer mattress in the back bedroom. It is soft and squeaky and the bones were definitely more sore each morning than they would normally be. All in all, however, as always, we enjoyed a lovely break away from the normalities of life. We will be back!

Parking (with permits provided) on Church Street itself is on a first come first served basis with limited spaces but as we arrived on the Friday afternoon we managed to get a space very close to the cottage. Parking was definitely a problem although permits were supplied if you moved the car you were unlikely to get another one on the street, so had to use a council car park(permit provided for this)Unfortunately our car bumper was damaged when parking on the street. We were very surprised on arrival to find the food cupboard still contained lots of some one else's food. E.g.. jam, marmalade, flour, mustard, sauce, in these secure covid times I was concerned these items had not been removed by whoever cleans between let's.This is the first negative review I have ever left on a Sykes.

Considering its age, it is set out wonderfully well. The much later addition of the conservatory is brilliant. Light, bright and with spectacular views. We spent most of the week doing walks from a pathfinder guide but the best walk - which we didn’t finish due to time constraints - started in Llangollen. The plan was to walk the canal all the way to the Trevor basin and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. We were half a mile from our target but had to turn back. The Co-Op is a 2 minute walk and the shops, restaurants and bars only a 5 minute walk. On street parking is a bit limited, but a visitors permit was supplied which is a bonus. It was great to have our meals in the light and airy conservatory and then cosy up at night in the living room watching TV. We went for a meal in the Three Eagles, which was gorgeous.
