  • "We highly recommend staying at Bryn Tirion."

Our family of four, including two girls aged 2 and 4, had a perfect stay, along with a befriended couple. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend! Communication with the owner was extremely easy, and they are very kind people who left delicious local snacks for us and provided many helpful tips for exploring the surroundings. There's a fantastic pub just a 2-minute walk away, and an easy hike to Angel Bay directly from the house, where you can spot some seals and enjoy breathtaking views. It's also perfect for exploring Conwy and Anglesey. Although parking is tight, it's manageable if your car isn't too large. The house offers breathtaking views, was spotlessly clean, had a very well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and a travel cot and high chair were provided upon request. We couldn't have asked for more and hope to return!

We went to the pier and the Little Orme. We won two teddies at the claw machine. We had a wonderful time, this is a great place to stay. All of us has a relaxing time here, the garden was full of wonder, we found cool stones and shells at the back. Coming here was a huge surprise, a miracle came to us, we played amazing games. Us five all loved our holiday here, we had amazing fun. Thank you!

The view was beautiful and it was well positioned for all the local sights. The only downside was the narrow drive to get to and from the house but we managed and we were warned about this from the owner. We would definitely consider staying again if we were in the area again.

When we arrived there was a lovely hamper of treats for us and our little dog. There are two pubs in Penrhynside one of them serves take away pizza’s at the weekends which we took back to enjoy at Bryn Tirion. The elevated position means that the views from the house are stunning and the bedroom in the attic is perfect for children as it has its own TV (with DVDs) and a little table Football game. Everything you could need is there at the house and it really does have the most comfiest of beds too. The views are beautiful - especially when doing yoga from the front bedroom facing the window in the mornings ;-). The owner is really helpful and there if you need her but doesn't bother you otherwise so you can just enjoy your holiday - she does ensure that there is a wonderful welcome pack there and as this was our 2nd visit (and a birthday for my partner) we got a couple of little extras and a thoughtful message too. There was even a special treat for our dog :-) After a cracking day out walking and 'maybe' a couple of well earned drinks in one (or both) of the two marvellous & very friendly/welcoming local pubs, it's great to kick back and relax in the well laid out and comfortable lounge and watch a film or something. Quite simply, we love it here and will most likely make another return visit. There's always something else to see & do in this area and I cannot think of a better house to stay in to do all that than Bryn Tirion.

  • "I’d like to inform you that we have now left the cottage."

The cottage was as expected or described but it is too far out for us and with 2 teenagers with not a lot to do in Llandudno or surrounding areas and the weather isn’t great for tomorrow (16/8/19) we decided to leave early. We have explored quite a bit of North Wales and have enjoyed what we’ve seen and done but as we are not walkers, north wales is not the place for us, sadly but it is very scenic and very pretty! As far as the cottage, there were a few issues with regards to the WiFi, especially in the front bedroom, the throws in the lounge weren’t in great condition and looked more like dog blankets although it didn’t specify that, there were stains on the pillows in the back bedroom which was only identified when stripping the bed, dining room chairs had no covers on the seat pads and the cooker had no instructions how use especially the induction hob if you have never used an electric induction hob before. Overall, we were happy with the cottage although there was a few minor issues that can be easily rectified and considering 2 dogs are allowed to stay at the cottage, the cleanliness was at a high standard with no trace of dog hair. Thank you for allowing us to stay your cottage and I am sorry it’s not all positive but maybe I should have researched the area a bit more although like I said we are happy with what we've done. It is lovely place to stay for someone who is more interested north wales on foot or who is looking for a quiet retreat and north wales is great area but not for us or maybe not for us for a week. I would definitely recommend Menai cottages to anyone looking to visit north wales. Thanks again!

Thank you for taking the time to review your holiday in North Wales, at Bryn Tirion. We loved your description of Bryn Tirion being a 'quiet retreat' and we agree that it's an oasis of peace and tranquillity with no passing traffic, stunning views and wonderful beach and country walks directly from the front door. People who have stayed at Bryn Tirion have typically enjoyed a quiet drink in the Village Pub which serves local ales. The five-minute stroll down to the start of Llandudno promenade and the walks across to the Little Orme are often what people love about the house but, like you say, with two teenagers and being unlucky with the weather perhaps they found it too quiet. I hope they managed to visit Zip World, Surf Snowdonia, The Ski Slope and Pitch and Putt course during their stay, the leaflets were in a folder in the Dining Room. We are delighted you found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our cottages as it's something we appreciate ourselves. We have already acted on your comments about the throws and pillows, new throws are currently on order from The White Company! We are looking into the WiFi it was recently upgraded so we are unsure about why there was poor connectivity, maybe due to the high winds last week and we have written instructions for operating the induction hob. Once again, thank you for the helpful feedback. Property Owner

  • "Not impressed with the listing stating it was dog friendly to then find out, after we had payed the full amount, that they were not allowed up stairs or on furniture etc."

Dog friendly place with nothing but floorboards and rugs on the floor in all rooms but one bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. No wonder there was a foul smell of dog odour when we stepped in. Oven hadn’t been cleaned for a while and was dirty and smelt of fish the second we turned it on. Very steep hill and tiny driveway with no space to turn around which we were not pre warned about Very overpriced and not happy with the quality of the place. Pictures do not represent the place at all.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that you felt disappointed that dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on soft furnishings - this is part of the Menai Holidays Terms and Conditions and not just limited to this house. We clearly mention in the cottage details that the cottage down a narrow lane and that the parking space can be tight, but we do apologise if you had difficulties. We have reviewed photos and do not agree that they are not an accurate and it is such a shame that on this occasion the house wasn't right for you, other guests have had a wonderful stay at Bryn Tirion. Clean, tidy, warm, ample room for a family, off-street parking, a lovely garden, stunning views from the master bedroom and that attic room is brilliant - wow, my children would have had to have taken turns staying up there! Although I don’t have a dog yet, I can see how it would be ideal for one here too. I was here for 3 nights and during that time managed to check out Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno Bay, Conwy Castle, Swallow Falls and Llyn Padarn in the Snowdonia National Park, Llanddwyn Beach and Island, Penmon Point, South Stacks in Anglesey. You really are located in hiking heaven with beach, coastal, countryside, lake and mountain walks of pretty much any length and difficulty! Thank you again for the stay - I had such fun here and will be recommending Bryn Tirion to anyone thinking of coming to North Wales. Best wishes, Tom

There is a second TV, suitable for the selection of DVD's up in this bedroom; perfect for children who want to watch something different on TV or have some chill-out time.

Go back down to the first floor to the newly tiled bathroom, where a bath with a shower over offers an attractive spot to freshen up.

Take the night off from cooking by visiting one of Penrhynside's famous pubs where you can enjoy a pint of local, real ale.

Try The Penrhyn Arms, which has a wood fired pizza oven or alternatively, head down to Penrhyn Bay Beach, enjoy a tipple at The Beach Café Bar or walk/drive over to Glanwyddan and dine or stop for a drink at The Queens Head, an award winning gastro-pub with a lovely beer garden.

Walk along the Wales Coast Path and go to Angel Bay; perched atop the cliff as you look down to the water's edge and try to spot the seals with their cubs, especially during the cubbing season.

Carry on over the Little Orme to reach the promenade and the sweeping bay of Llandudno.

For an extended walk, continue over the Great Orme, exploring the Llandudno seafront as you go, with its seaside novelties, Punch and Judy and Victorian Pier.

The medieval town of Conwy is also nearby and home to the world-famous Conwy Castle and Plas Mawr Elizabethan heritage townhouse building.

Go for a stroll along Conwy Quay, have your photo taken beside the Smallest House in Great Britain, go crabbing from the Quay Jetty, and stop for a drink at the Liverpool Arms and watch the world go by.

Have an ice cream from Parisella's Ice Cream shop (made in Conwy) and then pick up some mussels from Conwy Mussels next to the RNLI building and take them back to Bryn Tirion for dinner.

Make some everlasting memories in North Wales with Bryn Tirion - Penrhynside as your elegant base.

About the location

LLANDUDNO

Conwy 4 miles, Colwyn Bay 6 miles, Snowdonia 20 miles.

Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
