  • "We had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage."

The views from it are amazing and we had all our meals in the courtyard every day. Llandudno is within walking distance and I can highly recommend The Cottage Loaf pub after a walk up The Great Orm. Rhos on Sea is also within walking distance and has some lovely coffee shops. The cottage itself is very cosy and the super king size bed is the most comfortable I’ve ever slept. We had the log burner on in the evening as it got a bit chilly which was cosy. The drive up to the cottage is tight but easily done if you take your time. We had no problems at all. I would highly recommend this idyllic cottage. Aberfalls distillery and falls is also highly recommended and not just for the whiskey. A fabulous walk to the falls is not to be missed.

Thank you so much for your review. It really means a lot to us that our guests have a really good experience at Craiglwyd Bach. Property Owner

A great home base for exploring the region, and after a day out in the Welsh weather nothing better than sitting in front of the log burner with a cuppa. Really quiet area but a short walk to plenty of amenities and pubs, would highly recommend!

Thanks so much for your comments. Lovely to meet you both and glad you enjoyed Craiglwyd Bach. Property Owner

  • "Everything you would want from a comfortable holiday, great views of the bay & town."

Well stocked with tea, coffee, milk and essential household items. Weird refuse collection & awkward recycling system (But that's the councils problem) Don't expect to park outside the cottage unless you are in a bubble car and be careful driving along the winding narrow lanes. Nevertheless, a good quiet break.

Would recommend it to anybody ! Even though the approach road was rather narrow ! but no real problems, Robin the owner was extremely nice and friendly. Parking is best next to the pear tree as suggested, unless you have a tiny car ! All in all we had a smashing holiday and the weather was great for April ! Would love to visit again ! Dave and Pam .

. Directions given were perfect to find it. And they were not lying when they advised us of the narrow roads… VERY Narrow, but thankfully we managed them with out any destruction to any part of the car. Walking through the door and all your stress just melts away. Front room is furnished with a couch, chair, Table w/2 chairs, TV & beautiful wood burning stove - lit for two of the nights we were there and kept the room nice, warm & cosy. To the right of the room - Watch your Head… is the Bathroom (Small, as they made use of the space they had, but perfect for what you need to do in there) and the Kitchen. The views from both windows is breath taking. We didn't use the Stove but they have everything needed pots, pans, baking dishes plates & utensils if we wanted too. Then back to the left of the front door – up 3 steps/stairs is a the bedroom with a massive, very comfortable bed. Dressing table w/mirror and a large wardrobe to hang your clothes. Everything was neat, tidy & clean. Could not ask for a better place to stay. PERFECT for a relaxing/Romantic get a way… Highly recommend & will 100% be back THANK YOU Nancy

Thanks for your feedback Nancy. Very much appreciated. Robin and Fiona Property Owner

Be careful driving as the lanes up to the house are extremely narrow and we did scrape our car on both sides, despite taking extreme care. Our host Robin next door was absolutely lovely and was there if we needed anything but totally unobtrusive. Gorgeous cottage with incredible views.

  • "The cottage was clean and comfy ,warm, and had everything you could need during your stay."

The garden was a plus and our dogs loved it, but it was Also nice that it was enclosed and secure. It was lovely after a day out to come back and sit in the garden with a coffee, and watch the world go by. Seeing the harvest moon rise was a sight I will never forget ~it was spectacular. The bed was absolutely huge and extremely comfortable, and the furnishings were within keeping of a cottage of that age. Carrying our luggage up from the village car park was a struggle initially, as the lane is VERY narrow just before the cottage, and we didn’t feel confident enough to drive up the last part to get to the private driveway, however by the next day we had learned to master it with care. The kitchen had plenty of cooking equipment in it and plenty of crockery. It also had 2 frying pans which were true to their description of being non stick! We were also gifted a Bara Brith plus tea coffee milk and sugar for our arrival. There were also lots of other kitchen items such as cling film, washing up liquid, fabric conditioner, work top spray, dishcloths, foil ,kitchen towels and tea towels ~ all provided for us !!! The cottage is really close to some lovely places. Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno, The Great Orme, Rhos on Sea, and Colwyn Bay are minutes away, and we visited all of these several times. The village pubs are literally 2~3 minutes walk away, and very welcoming. There’s another pub about 1mile away which also does food too. Anglesey, Bettws Y Coed, and Llanberris are all stunning and well worth the visit, and there is so much more to see and do. For rainy days there’s a small book library or dvds at your disposal, plus cards and other games. The owners Robin and Fiona live next door to the cottage, and are there on hand for any problems you may have-but you are given total privacy to enjoy their property, which is really nice. It felt really homely there. All in all it was a peaceful relaxing break, spent in a beautiful part of Wales.

  • "The living room was too cramped and very disappointing."

The sofa & matching arm chair we very soft and took up too much space, in fact most of the space. Siting on a dining chair was not what we expected to have to do on holiday. It was difficilt for one person to sit at the table & the other to try & get past to get to the bedroom. The table was smaill and no lighting near it to do jigsaw or read a book. Lighting in the living room was very low and inadequate. It seems the cottage is loved by dog owners and by those who eat out or sit on the sofa in front of the log fire & watch TV. The bedroom was excellent and the shower/toilet/wash room. The kitchen well equiped except for the old cooker, the grill and oven were unacceptable. Owner was very nice. The road up to the cottage was challenging and the owner guided us up there. It was single track, very narrow with tight bends. That should be mentioned in your description. On the plus side: It was very near our family who we were visiting, and friends at a local church. Hilltop walks from the door. Lovely prom walks & beach at Colwyn Bay.

  • "Nice cottage, in a good location."

Our first experience of North Wales. The cottage was very pleasant and the bed was the best we have ever experienced in all the years of self-catering cottages. The basin in the bathroom would benefit from being an inch or two deeper and with a plug that seals. Kitchen well-appointed but a more modern cooker (with better temperature control) would be better. Anyone who likes old pubs would love the Old Penryhn Arms, which is in walking distance. All in all a very positive experience.

It is not far away from a quiet beach in the bay, perfect for winding down ( or cooling off if you are a dog ) after a busy day sight seeing. We were welcomed with everything to make that first cuppa and slices of the best Bara Brith. Safe patio area for dogs and a warm welcome at the Cross Keys pub only minutes away from the cottage where dogs are welcome. The cottage on the hillside means you have to embrace the adventure of driving up hill with tight corners but the shared parking is a plus. We managed it with a Landrover Freelander 2. The sea view is obscured by the owners hedge so a little disappointing as this was one of the reasons for choosing this cottage. I expect it is for their privacy at the expense of the cottage's view. The sofa is old and very uncomfortable. Shame, as sitting in front of the log burner on the cold rainy afternoons would have been idilic. Leaving a cottage in a clean and tidy condition is a given but being informed on where all the cleaning materials and hover are and requested to clean the cottage for the next guests is not what I expected.

About the location

LLANDUDNO

Conwy 4 miles, Colwyn Bay 6 miles, Snowdonia 20 miles.

Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
