Cwm Pennant Valley is a delight, where high slopes blend into wooded hillsides, a meandering river winds through small fields which are dotted with farmhouses and an ancient church. Brynkir Woollen Mill is close by, view the entire working process from raw wool to the finished product at this long established woollen mill. Incorporate the visit with a walk, enjoying some tea and cakes, feeling refreshed ready for the walk back! The harbour town of Porthmadog is six miles away and offers an array of independent shops, pubs, eating establishments and tea rooms. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland steam railway start their journeys from here, a great way to see some wonderful scenery. The vast sandy beach of Black Rock Sands and the sand and shingle beach at Criccieth, with its 13th century castle are close by. The Italianate village and gardens of Portmeirion are easily reached and well worth a visit. While the entire Cardigan Bay, Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia National Park and the Isle of Anglesey are all within easy reach. An intimate corner with table and chairs provides the perfect setting for a romantic candlelit supper and the well-appointed, fitted modern farmhouse country-style kitchen has everything you might need while a further dining area provides an ideal spot for a more leisurely family breakfast.
The two bedrooms upstairs are individually and tastefully decorated and have some lovely features, exposed beams and a king-size bed in the main bedroom with a cast iron bedroom fireplace (not in use) in the twin bedroom.
There is quite a lavish bathroom with a freestanding roll top bath adding a touch of luxury and is perfect to enjoy a long soak to ease away those aches after a day on the hills.
Outside your holiday cottage is an enclosed garden with table and chairs and with panoramic views down the valley alfresco dining during the warmer summer months is a must.
