  • "Wow excellent holiday."

Tom and Barbara are two of the world’s nicest people The cottage was very clean and the Welsh cakes were a lovely touch (and very tasty). There was ample space for the five of us and with excellent facilities. set in beautifully countryside scenery and perfectly located to cover the wonders of North Wales. Can’t wait to comeback

Hello Gareth, Kind words, thank you. Some people leave Ynys messy, some leave it tidy and some, like you and family, leave not a foot print, thank you again. Bren & me look forward to the next time. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy cottage."

The couple who own it live next door and were most welcoming and very helpful. The cottage itself is very accommodating for humans and dogs. One thing that I would mention is that both toilets are downstairs and that might not be suitable for people who need to use them in the night. The location is stunning and the kitchen was very well equipped and very clean.

Hi again Ruthie, thank you for your kind words. Being of a certain age, we agree absolutely with your comment on the toilets! Did you notice the chamber pots under the beds, they are not there just for show! They are there to be used in case of being caught short in the night. Tom & Bren Property Owner

  • "Excellent cottage in a great location with Snowdon, Porthmadog, Criccieth, etc all within easy reach."

The cottage is very well equipped with all the home comforts you could wish for in order for a very comfortable stay. Tom and Bren have thought of everything, you just need to bring yourself and your clothes as everything else is provided. We were especially grateful to have the use of so many utensils and equipment in the kitchen so we could make some nice home-cooked meals. The lounge is very cosy with comfortable seating and a lovely wood burner for cold nights. There is also a nice desk in the corner, an ideal place to sit and use a laptop. The large conservatory looks out over the wonderful garden and fields beyond, and is an excellent place to sit and have a glass of wine in the evening. The bedrooms were warm and cosy with very comfortable beds. Easily one of the best cottages we have stayed in and look forward to returning. Many thanks.

The cottage is large, comfortable and well equipped with all the little things that make life easier, a real home from home. Our children loved the enclosed garden and swings. The setting is just stunning, rural but easy access to main road/ porthmadog. We will be back!

The cottage was pristine, with a well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable living areas. The garden was excellent for our two dogs, I only wish we could have sat outside more to enjoy the lovely rural location. The cottage is very well placed for exploring the Lleyn and the Snowdonia National Park, and beyond if you have time. We had a very friendly welcome from the owners,Tom and Bren, and we especially enjoyed the homemade welsh cakes on the welcome tray when we arrived, we will be back! Thank you

The cottage was everything we could have wanted and more. Very clean and comfy and loads of lovely space and everything we could have needed. the location was great and in an ideal place for exploring many of the local places and things to do. The owners were very kind and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We would defiantly come and stay here again and explore more of the beautiful area.

  • "Really welcoming cottage that is well located yet rural, felt like a home and was fully provisioned."

The hosts were lovely and really helpful - and the gate opening service provided by the boys was very professional :-) My only minor note would be that the condensation which occurs on the old quarry tiles can make the steps into the bathroom area slippy. I'm not sure how to suggest this is addressed but I think it would be worth pointing out to visitors to make them aware. We had a lovely stay with extended family and would stay again - I'm sorry we forgot to write in the book!

  • "From the moment we arrived Tom and Brenda were lovely hosts."

The property was immaculate and nicer than the photos and description provided on the Sykes site. Lovely authentic cottage with everything you need right there. Even with a full day of rain it was lovely to spend time with our family in the property playing games in the conservatory. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was a pleasure to cook in it. With a grandchild in the house everything was there, cot, changing mats, plates cutlery etc. We are so pleased we chose this property and so impressed we are re-booking for next year. • "This cottage is a find."

It is far nicer, and bigger than even the pictures can make it look. Tom and Brenda are excellent hosts, and have thought about everything. The kitchen is well stocked and nicely laid out, the decor in the house is really stylish, the cottage warm and inviting, and it has a great array of books and games. I am sure in the summer the conservatory is a welcome addition to the house (unfortunately it rained whilst we stayed). The garden is enclosed, and looks out across fields. We used it as a base for the Welsh Highland Railway and Ffestiniog Railway as Porthmadog is really close by. We will definitely return!

Spent time each morning sitting outside with a coffee just relaxing. Rain kept us in on a couple of occasions but we were quite happy staying indoors, it was really comfy, clean and the kids loved it. The fact that it's dog friendly made all the difference. Two good pubs nearby as well. Thoroughly recommend it and hope to go back sometime.

The property

Porthmadog 5 miles.

Ynys Pandy is a wonderful 19th century farmhouse, nestling in acres of unspoilt peace, overseen by a huge sky with mountains at the front door and a distant horizon towards the sea at the back.

The cottage adjoins the owner’s home and sits at the end of a 200 yard driveway which is accessed from an un-named and very quiet country road.

The cottage is just a few miles inland from the seaside resorts of Criccieth and harbour town of Porthmadog.

The pace of life is slower here and would be an ideal base for a family or two families to enjoy some quality time together and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

There is plenty of space here for everyone, inside and out!

A spacious sitting room offers plenty of comfortable seating, perfect for an evening in, after a day walking on the mountains.

Relax in front of the woodburner set in the inglenook fireplace and enjoy your favourite film or reminisce and exchange stories of the day's adventures.

The farmhouse-style kitchen caters for all your needs and a comfy breakfast area enjoys early morning coffee or late supper.

The conservatory floods with light and opens out to the garden, providing a place to sit and relax, keeping an eye on the little ones playing outside.

The dining table provides a more formal place to sit and eat or a great area to enjoy a family game of scrabble!

The bathroom is also downstairs with an additional cloakroom, and all four bedrooms are arranged on the first floor.

Outside, you can dine alfresco in the evening while you enjoy the vista and sunsets, relaxing after those long walks and days of exploring.

Gaze up at the stars long into the night and if you are lucky you may be fortunate enough to see the owls.

The amenities of Porthmadog are just five miles away, and attractions within easy reach include Italianate Portmeirion village, Snowdon and its surrounds and castles at Criccieth, Caernarfon, Conwy and Harlech, not to mention sandy beaches, superb walking and a variety of watersports.

There is something for everyone.

Ynys Pandy provides the perfect base anytime of the year.
