  • “Owners were funny, very welcoming and friendly.”

Pub has a great atmosphere for a meal or drink. Gorgeous view from apartment balcony and apartment was very nice. Stayed with my SO and we thought it was a wonderful little getaway for a few nights. Would highly recommend.

Three Pigeons Inn Apartments

Two cosy, first floor apartments sit alongside each other in the beautiful Denbighshire village of Graigfechan, they conveniently sit above the village's friendly & highly rated pub/restaurant “Three Pigeons Inn”, an ancient drovers inn that was rebuilt in 1777 but dates back to the 12th century! With luscious countryside and facilities for outdoor activities nearby, this is a fine choice to base a holiday of exploring North Wales. Accessed via an external staircase, step up onto the large shared balcony and enter into the homely, open-plan living room. Both apartments provide a comfortable lounge seating area, you can watch TV or a favourite film at the end of the day. They also offer a great kitchen area with dining table seating for four, the sloping ceilings and wooden beams give it a real homely feel. The apartments have three bedrooms in each, a double with an en-suite which leads onto the two further bedrooms, a double and a single room. On the sunnier days, take a seat on the large balcony and enjoy a refreshing drink whilst enjoying the beautiful rural views, then head downstairs for a drink or a delicious meal in the restaurant. Nearby, visit the historical market town of Ruthin with some wonderful buildings and lovely pubs to sit in and relax. Many of North Wales' biggest attractions are nearby, including the fascinating and stunning town of Llangollen and the delightful Chirk with its striking castle. Cheshire Oaks retail outlet is also within easy reach. Snowdonia National Park is well worth an adventure for outdoor enthusiasts.

About the location

GRAIGFECHAN

Ruthin 3 miles; Llangollen 13 miles; Chester 25 miles.

Graigfechan is a small, peaceful village in a delightful part of Wales, just 3 miles south of the hilltop town of Ruthin, which lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The village has a pleasant pub which serves quality food, and is used as the start of the Offa's Dyke Walk 5, a 5.5 mile scenic walk along the nearby beautiful Clwydian Hill Range. Picturesque Ruthin has a 700 year old history, boasting attractive, half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter's Square, along with interesting shops and buildings and the Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople, and is well worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on the doorstep, whilst lovely Llangollen, which boasts the cascading River Dee, renowned for exhilarating white water rafting, and scenic Lake Brenig, Moel Famau, Loggerheads Country Park and Clocaenog Forest are all close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance are the coast, the Snowdonia National Park, medieval Shrewsbury and the wonderful historic city of Chester.
