  • "Lovely little find."

We only stayed 2 nights at very short notice due to having to move from another property (not Sykes). Sykes were super helpful with accommodating us at short notice. We were delighted with the cottage which was cosy but big enough for our family of 5 (including 3 large teens) and a dog. We wished we had stayed there the whole week! 2 shops nearby but close early evening. Good location for getting into Pwllheli or Criccieth or beyond. The cottage was neat, smart and clean with good facilities. We liked being able to close the gates to the back so our dog could trot round or sunbathe. We’d love to stay here again!

  • "Cottage was fairly clean, nicely decorated and fairly well equipped."

The bathrooms were lovely and modern. Not alot going on in Tyfor but it's a good base for exploring the area we found plenty of good places to visit within half an hour's drive. Loved being able to pull the car at the back of the cottage and shut the gates for secure parking . We used the back door the whole holiday as this was so much easier with our dog in tow. There were a few downsides , such as we personally found the beds really uncomfortable. I wouldn't actually recommend this place for more than 4 people either to be honest, not if your planning on spending time there as there isn't room for 6 people to sit in the living room or sit and eat. For just us two, it was perfectly fine. We found it odd that no cleaning supplies or hand soap/hand towels were provided and no washing up liquid so we had to go and shop to be able to keep the property clean. All that was provided was antibac spray and a sponge. There was also no recycling. We were provided with just one tea towel which was fine, but there was no oven glove or mitt and so once the tea towel was wet, no safe way of removing hot trays from the oven. There was alot of maintenance issues we noticed like plug sockets hanging off the wall upstairs, bathroom door doesn't shut, plug in the tub doesn't work. Something to note if you need to use your phone or work, I had very poor signal and the WiFi wasn't great and stopped working constantly or was very slow despite having full strength signal. Overall, it wasn't a terrible stay and none of the issues besides the plug sockets or beds were major, but all those little things that wouldn't be a bother alone did add together and detract from the stay.

  • "In general, the cottage was pleasant and suitable for our needs."

The photos on the website are clearly quite old and the property has aged since they were taken. They also make the interior look significantly bigger than reality. However, this wasn't a problem for us. There were a few minor maintenance pieces that could do with addressing. A lightbulb out in the bathroom, high level cleaning such as fan covers wouldn't go amiss and the plug in the bath didn't not work. There was no welcome pack, property instructions or local information in the cottage which I feel would have been of benefit. There is very little in Y Ffor, but it is a good base for all areas of the Llyn Peninsula. The local Londis is adequate for day to day supplies.

  • "The property is well situated to visit a range of places on the Llyn Peninsula though there is nothing really in the immediate area."

The property was clean on arrival but we were disappointed to find the one dustbin already full with additional bags outside and only one bin bag provided. The bedrooms were comfortable though there was a lot of road noise. Our main problem was the size of the living areas for 6 people. We were a party of 3 adults (all quite small!), 3 young children and a smallish dog. Neither the lounge or kitchen were really comfortable for the size of the party. In the lounge, there were two 2 seater sofas and a chair which couldn’t be sat on as it was under the stairs and there was nowhere else it would fit. There were some bar stools in the kitchen but if you got them out, you couldn’t access the cupboards underneath. If you want a clean base from which to visit the Llyn Peninsula and intend dining out, then the property is fine but if you want to eat in and spend time in the property I think it’s quite cramped for 6 people.

  • "Excellent location with easy access points to areas of beauty and interest."

Kitchen - has all you need, it is small and does cater for a group of 3 or more. We unfortunately could not sit down together in the evening and have a meal together. Living room - spacious, comfortable, poor WIFi, tv remote hardly worked, be good idea to have a medium size table and chairs so people can eat, play board games etc. 2 good bedrooms. Comfortable. Lots of light The 3rd bedroom downstairs was not so good. Pillows had blue streaks of ink and the mattress was very bad. Shower upstairs was OK but overflowed and may have an issue.

  • "We had a lovely stay at this cottage (Sunday to Thursday) with our granddaughter and her mom & Dad."

Unfortunately the internet was not working on arrival which did cause a few issues for us as son due to work during day. We contacted the owner who got onto BT who came to the property Tue am and confirmed the issue was with the BT street box so not an issue with the property. The owner was excellent in sorting this out and we have to put it down to an unfortunate event. Other than that all facilities and the area were excellent close to loads of quality beaches and pubs for the evening. Would highly recommend this property as a great base.

The house is in a very good location and it is easy to reach all the hiking spots, shops and other facilities. The parking is also off road so it is very safe.

  • "Amazing stay, great location as long as you don't mind driving to other towns."

Possibly a book needed for recommendations in the area. One minor failing would be that the Cottage caters for 6 sleeping, although the seating arrangements downstairs and outside only cater for 4. All in all a great space to stay.

  • "The cottage is on a main road and the traffic was very noisy from 6."

30am. When we were leaving we removed the quilt cover as requested and found a large tear and stain in the quilt. This was very disappointing as we had slept in this for 4 days. Also the mattress was very thin and the slings could be felt we had to use a second quilt as a mattress cover. The cottage is in a very good location for touring the Llyn Peninsula and has good off road parking.

  • "Lovely cottage, well presented and very clean and easy access to all of the tourist locations."

Only negative was the busy road which was quite noisy and difficult to reverse out onto. Also no information about bin collection days. Bin was full on arrival. Otherwise I would give a very strong 8 out of 10

  • "The cottage was lovely and clean, the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and slept 6 adults easily but the living accommodation is not suitable for six adults as there is only two two seater settees, so the other two adults had to sit on camping chairs."

The only issue with it really was the bins/ recycling as there is no facility for this.

  • "My friend and I ."

..I am 83 years old , and my friend is 80 , had a wonderful week at the cottage , it was exactly as advertised ....It was spotlessly clean , everything we needed was there , it was exceptionally well equipped, very comfortable beds , and very homely , with pictures on the walls etc....and cushions on the very comfortable sofa’s We were very lucky with the weather , as the sun shone every day. Yes I would certainly book with your company again , but perhaps a little nearer home next time , as it was quite a car journey , for two old ladies. But if your other facilities are as good as this one , yes I would certainly book another holiday

  • "The cottage was as advertised and the quality was to a high standard, very clean and very comfortable."

Great shower and bathrooms and the washing facilities were excellent and a really welcome touch to get the beach stuff cleaned. A nice private patio area too which was also very clean. Would definitely stay here again. If I could make one recommendation and it is small, is the location and layout of the kitchen utensils which are stored below the breakfast bar and would suggest they need to be in a drawer at the standard height. Other than this, would recommend with confidence.

  • "The cottage is beautiful and well maintained, the two bathrooms are lovely and the beds were comfy."

Kitchen is small but well equipped . Unfortunately the settees were quite uncomfortable , and with sleeping for 6 not sure how anyone would manage with two , two seater sofas.? I wish we had been aware how busy the road was as I think this may have stopped us from booking ... it’s a very busy and loud road .! Although the cottage is obviously close for getting out and about which is a positive. The parking is good but the owner needs to think about dropping the kerb as any low cars would end up damaged going up and down the kerb there is no safe parking outside the house so you need to use this. We loved the area would definitely return.
