  • "Excellent stay - much more spacious than I’d anticipated form the photos."

  • "Me and some friends planned to stay at this cottage in wales."

Upon arrival the key was left in the door and not in the secured safe as promised. Due to the cottage backing onto a campsite, you can understand our concern. When we entered we noticed food splattered over the cabinets which we cleaned up prior to taking photos. There was open food left in the cupboard and black pudding left on top of a bag of ice left in the freezer. The shelving was smothered in a greasy substance also. The white sofa in the living room had brown/beige stains all over it. The layout of the property was rather poor also as a sofa was simply facing the wall opposite. There was brown marks over the walls and a thick greasy spill down the cooker. We rung once at 5.56 to complain. The owner said they have had problems with the cleaners for a while but is tied into a contract. He offered for them to clean again tomorrow. My sister said that they didn't do such a good job the first time and that she'd rather clean herself. After this discussion we assessed the work that needed to be done and realised for the cost of the property we shouldn't have to deep clean the property to feel comfortable. The white covers would have needed to be bleached and washed, something we were not prepared to do. I called him back later to make him aware that his property was too dirty to stay in therefore we would not be staying there and asked for a full refund he said " you probably won't get a full refund." We tried our best to get a full refund after paying cancellation fee, however he refused any type of refund. I would highly not recommend this place to ANYONE due to the uncleanleness but also due to the way we was treated.

Hi, we are sorry the key was left in the door when you arrived we thought we were being helpful as there was a weather warning in place for rain and wind and not having to access they key safe would be of help. The location is very safe with the drive and car park covered by CCTV and there is always someone on site and the campsite was closed on your arrival date. Again we are sorry you didn't feel safe to stay in the house and decided to leave almost immediately and ask for a full refund, the rest of the review is in our opinion fabricated towards that end. • "The property was dirty, even though we were asked to arrive late and leave early to allow for a deep clean."

The lounge smelled so bad we couldn’t even use it. The beds were uncomfortable, the mattresses were hard and could feel the springs.

  • "I booked this property as it was large enough for our whole family to meet up after nearly 20 months of being apart."

I didn’t expect luxury but the farm house was dirty inside and failed to meet expectations of being COVID clean. Beds were broken and had to be wedged with books. The bed in family room was also broken which we noticed upon stripping beds to leave as instructed. A wooden chair in the dining room was split on its seat and was unsafe to sit on. Utensils, saucepans and plates were in cupboards with food on them. The top of large cooker was greasy and had not been cleaned. There were plug sockets on the island which did not work. Glasses were chipped. I do blame other guests for some things but during COVID surely these should be checked. We did have a dishwasher with tablets provided but we were not instructed to use this all of the time rather than hand wash as we had in previous properties. The patio area was lovely with a range of outdoor furniture to utilise but the cushions provided for outside were filthy, stained and obviously had not been washed for a long time. The kettle leaked but this was replaced very quickly when the caretakers were informed. We were not left any bin bags or linen bags (we didn’t bother to report this and purchased our own) although I feel this was as the cleaning had to be rushed as the company had not arrived until approximately 10 minutes before we were due to go in and as a consequence it was rushed as we were not happy over the delay as were only notified about 20 minutes before 5pm that there was a problem. The freezer had 2 compartments full of loose ice cubes which had obviously been left by other clients for I hate to consider how many weeks. This is the 3rd holiday with Sykes this year and the previous ones have been excellent with obvious COVID cleaning completed. I am aware it’s not guaranteed that a welcome pack is left but again the other 2 had packs waiting for us but this one had nothing. Additionally, our clothes smelt of damp and the floors were damp in the en-suite double bedroom. The hot tub was very nice and children in particular enjoyed this and the caretakers wife ensured this was monitored on a regular basis. The upstairs of the property was also nice with a comfy bed and nice bathroom with lovely views. Towels were provided for all guests and were fine and clean along with clean bed linen. The en-suite in downstairs bedroom is very cramped and impossible to have a shower in unless you are child sized so 4 adults and 2 bigger children shared the downstairs bathroom which was also nice with a separate bath and shower. To give credit it is a lovely setting and although there is a large campsite behind property there was no noise. It is handy for visiting a lot of places and we can highly recommend Moria nefyn beach with the pub on the beach. However it is quite a walk so be prepared but worth it as an absolutely beautiful beach which appeared safe for children. I rarely give negative reviews but really feel this property would benefit from some TLC - tender loving care with some new pots and pans.

  • "We were a party of 9 , 6 children ( one with disabilities) and 3 adults."

The children loved the field attached to play in and they were safe. The patio area is very big and if the grass was wet they played on it. The hot tub is delightful and was well used by all . The kitchen was very well equipped with enough of everything you would need A folder with instructions in for using the microwave, washer/dryer and dish washer would be useful . The scenery is fabulous and it’s not too far into Pwllheli. We had a great week in the lovely farm house , the doorways to the bedrooms are narrow my disabled child couldn’t fit her walker through but that for us was a minor detail as the house is fabulous .i would recommend this property

  • "Kitchen could be better equipped."

Temperature guides on oven switches unreadable, no baking trays cooking trays. Not enough tumblers none suitable for kids, we had 4 children with us. Only enough plates for one sitting and not enough bowls for all of us, no smaller ones for children. Other facilities very good and owner very helpful. Comfortable rooms, bedrooms a bit crushed in!
