  • "Lovely clean spacious cottage."

Lovely hosts. A couple of small niggles, some of the kitchen baking trays need replacing, only 4 teaspoons and a new washing up bowl would be nice. Also a shower over the bath would be good, there was only 4 adults in our party which took a while to get showered in the morning with only the one small shower, for six adults it would be even more of a problem. Having said this we would definitely return.

  • "As an aside, the directions given to get to the cottage were slightly misleading insofar as it was indicated to travel from Church Stretton north along the A49 for 1/2 mile to the Cardington Junction."

It was more like 1 mile. Apart from this nit picking all was just wonderful, could not be faulted. Well done.

  • "Lovely, spacious cottage, great location right in front of Caradoc hill."

Owners on site in case you need anything but without being intrusive, which suits us. Weather petty good too! Really enjoyed our longed-for break, thanks.

  • "We had stayed at this cottage before it was listed with Sykes so knew what to expect."

The accommodation has one double bedroom en suite and 2 other bedrooms with twin beds and shared bathroom so suited our needs as a family who don't mind sharing rooms. Dog friendly too. Gill and Tim did everything they could to make our holiday here as pleasant as possible - the fact that we chose to return here is testament to that. It's ideally located for visits to NT/ English Heritage properties such as Wenlock Priory, Stokesay and Attingham Park with others nearby. Church Stretton is a lovely location with some good walking on the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge. Shrewsbury is only a short drive away.

  • "We had a lovely holiday, thanks."

Just a few things that would have helped make it even better. The communication between Sykes and the property owner was not good. I had replied to emails from Sykes a couple of times about details of arrival and beds to be made up but they were not forwarded onto the owner so on arrival a couple of the beds required were not made. The mattresses were not very comfortable in the middle room. Also we had ordered a food delivery for the day of arrival for the week not realising the freezer was really small so some food was unfortunately wasted. The property was well equipped, Gill and Tim obviously look after the site very well and its in a good location for walks from the door. Would book again.

  • "We arrived on the Saturday at 4pm and all was ready for us."

Four adults and two children looking for a quiet country side place to stay. The cottage is roomy with 3 bedrooms an en suite and another bathroom. The kitchen lounge area is well equipped and was suitable for us. There is a TV and DVD player (take your own DVD's). You step out the back to a great climb up the hills, not easy but the views are spectacular. The local area can get crowded and I would suggest booking early to get into a pub or restaurant for a meal. That said, many do take-aways but you may have to collect. This is a quiet retreat and ideal for walking and cycling in the local area. There are a lot of attractions within 30 miles. The hosts are very friendly and available all the time. We had a great 3 nights and would certainly return. Just remember, in this part of the country, some of the roads are very narrow and you do meet traffic coming the other way. Great place, great stay.

  • "We spent Christmas week in Ragleth cottage - it was an excellent week."

The owners had decorated the cottage and were happy for us to buy our own small tree locally to put in the cottage. All the rooms were cosy and everything worked well. Whenever we had questions the owners were happy to help. There was even a lovely hamper to welcome us upon arrival. The location is great - on a quiet farmstead on a country lane, and with a footpath going straight up to Caer Caradoc hill (which has the best views in the area), but only 5 mins drive from Church Stretton. Fully recommended!

And sufficiently close to Church Stretton for shopping etc. We enjoyed the walks hugely. Thanks for a very good few days.

  • "This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful country setting."

The local town is about a 5 minute drive away, where there is a good range of pubs and restaurants. The area is perfect for local walks or as a base for visiting further afield. We only stayed for 5 days, but wished we had longer.

  • "The cottage (a cattle barn conversion in a former farm courtyard) was exactly what we wanted: a spacious bungalow layout that was ideal for my elderly mother, with plenty of space."

The owner was inobtrusive but helpful, and the property had a very well equipped kitchen with plenty of pots, pans and crockery (not always the case with holiday cottages). It was a genuine 3-bedroom cottage that could comfortably sleep six (again, not always the case with properties that are marketed as 'sleeps up to 6'). The location was excellent - nestled at the base of one of the finest Shropshire hills (Caer Caradoc) in a secluded rural location, yet only 10 minutes drive from the shops and other amenities of Church Stretton. Highly recommended.

  • "A friendly greeting by Tim and Gill, and the cottage was comfortable."

I felt some of the amenities could be updated, for example the TV, and given the number of people that could stay, the comfortable chairs. I also think a dishwasher would be advantageous given the number of occupants. The surrounding area is beautiful and is easily accessible for all manor of walks. A good box full of suggested walks from the door step was provided. A cottage that I would recommend.
