The cottage was roomy, warm ,well equipped and the beds comfortable and every where cleaned to a high standard. There was plenty of safe parking space and the outside terraced space was pleasant with fantastic hanging baskets still in full bloom The bathroom and shower room were immaculate and showers were powerful enough and there was always hot water. Some of the kitchen equipment was a bit tired, but it all worked and was clean and well maintained. The oven knobs were loose and establishing what temperature it was at was a bit of a challenge! The very up to date microwave was great but an instruction sheet would have helped the uninitiated. The upstairs bedrooms were very dark as the blinds on the velux Windows had been fastened down but very effective blackout for sleeping. There was some road noise but it was not intrusive. The location of the cottage allowed us to enjoy trips into Wales, Chester, Liverpool, Southport and various coastal spots on the Wirral. We enjoyed our break and will certainly return. Many thanks to Shaun for his attention to detail and welcoming manner.

About the location

LEDSHAM

Chester 6 miles.

Ledsham is a pleasant rural village spread over a wide area, just 6 miles from historic Chester. Described as 'The jewel of the North-West of England', perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city of Chester is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in the famous 'Rows', and lovely walks within the city boundaries - around the old Roman Walls, along The Groves beside the River Dee or through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Further afield lie the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, and the market towns and villages of Cheshire are all within easy touring distance, whilst the nearby Wirral Peninsula has many splendid courses to tempt the golfing enthusiast.
