Booked it for my partners 50th birthday. Packed with everything you need for your stay including a bottle of bubbly, chocolates and milk. Gilbert & Emma were lovely and although Gilbert had to check the hot tub every morning you never knew he was there. The cottage was immaculate and so nicely decorated (would love to live there) including a christmas tree. Such beautiful scenary and so peaceful a great place to relax and recharge your batteries. Great secure areas for our 2 GSD's to stretch their legs. Would highly recommend 5*, I will be recommending to all my friends those with and without dogs. Hoping to rebook in 2024. Cottage was perfect - lovely and warm and very comfortable. The hot tub was a bonus amd perfectly clean and well maintained. Don't think I have ever given 5s for all aspects, but would definitely return here.

  • "The property is a great size, in a great location & Gilbert is very helpful."

That said there were some elements which were not quite as described in the listing (possibly Skye's errors). The owner's property being in close proximity actually means it is about 3mtrs away & the drive in the picture is their main access to their property. This means every time they come & go it is right in front of your windows & having the hot tub checked every morning means someone goes past the window & kitchen daily - not making it very private. The Crown Inn is also in Wentnor, not Wetnor as per the listing and is also over 2 miles away - we were disappointed to find we could not walk to it (although it was fabulous!). The blue light in the bedroom for the heating controls was very bright at night & the shower area needed a good clean around the bottom. It is a shame as these things would have stopped us booking this property, we felt the listing misleading. That said the owner could not have more polite, friendly and welcoming. The hot tub was a lovely luxury but the dressing gowns and towel were only really ideal for very small people.

Firstly apologies for Sykes misleading info in the listing, that has now been altered. We were very disappointed to receive this feedback as this is the first negative review that we have had and both guests left a lovely review in our guest book. Gilberts house is 8.5 metres from the annex and is almost completely separated with a wall and high wooden fence. He usually parks next to the road & only occasionally uses the drive. No one else lives there. And very rarely does anyone else visit there. Delivery drivers & post men use the small gate entrance completely separate to the annex. The annex/driveway gate can certainly be closed if desired. The underfloor heating controls have been alerted so the light no longer comes on-a easy fix if we would have been informed. Gilbert checks the hot tub every morning & evening as a legal requirement and tries to check it when the guests are out. There are curtains that can remain drawn until he has done so. We ensure guests have both bath towels and hand towels. We have now increased the size of all of the bath robes. Property Owner

It’s a very unique place to stay in a breathtaking part of the UK. It has everything we needed for a family of four and our dog. We stayed local for exploring on some days and went further afield using it as a base on others. Gilbert is a lovely host and on hand for anything you need. The hot tub is one of the bonuses of the stay. We will return soon.

The Annex was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Gilbert was so helpful, cleaning the hut tub every day and being on hand for anything that we needed whilst also being unobtrusive. Fantastic area to stay with dogs as there are loads of local walks and ones to travel out too as well. The hot tub was out of this world, we done some star gazing and bubbly drinking while in there :) Tea, coffee, sugar, bubbly and milk all provided for our arrival (so thoughtful). We all loved it and hopefully will be back! We ate at The Loopy Shrew in Shrewsbury (great roast dinner) and The Three Tuns in Bishop's Castle (delicious food and lovely staff). We also visited Ludlow, Gregynog Hall (great for walks) and Bewdley on the Great Severn Railway from Bridgnorth. Lovely holiday, thanks to all at the Annex x

It's so peaceful, a million miles away from the rat race with the most amazing scenery. It was like staring at a painting. Set along a country lane with next to no traffic with cows, sheep and birds for neighbours. My day started with some morning yoga, afternoon bbq, hot tub , country walks, comfy sofa , amazing views ,fireplace and Netflix. My dogs loved it!, it's was secure for them I had no worries at all. There are places to explore, Shrewsbury, the Welsh border is 15 mins away There are idyllic country pubs 10ish min drive but for me this was about Well-being and switching off. The annex is adorable, everything you need. The lounge with its high beamed ceiling, fireplace, massive wet room, underfloor heating and windows that frame a view to die for.The hot tub is a lil gem and the bbq area is a perfect viewing point. You will not be disappointed! It will forever hold a place in my heart. Don't change a thing x Thank you Solo Traveller

He was brilliant. We spent the week at the Annex (family of four and our pooch!). We explored the local area and even went further afield by climbing Snowdon. Lots to do either walking or a short drive, but even staying in the annex was lovely. So peaceful with only the sounds of the country and farming in the background, right up our street. • "The Boundary Annex exceeded all of our expectations from the moment we arrived."

We were met on the drive by the owner Gilbert, who was extremely welcoming and showed us into the cottage. We were expecting the cottage to be very small based on the picture of the front visage, and because there were two adults, two children and one large lurcher forming our party, we had anticipated feeling 'on top of one another'. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the rooms are much bigger than the pictures suggest, and the high ceilings and skylights throughout meant that the cottage felt light, airy and spacious. We also hadn't realised how there would be a field of sheep right next to the secure garden (which we all loved, especially the lurcher, who seemed surprised to see them every morning), that there would be a gas BBQ, and a chiminea for our use with some logs and kindling provided. The extras didn't stop inside either: with wine and chocolates on arrival; milk and eggs in the fridge; bath robes in the wardrobe to use for the very fancy hot tub; and tea, coffee, cleaning products and some bathroom essentials. My kids even found some colouring activities stowed away for their use! The rooms are well furnished, and comfortable - with the option to use a log burner in the living room, though it was a bit warm for this when we stayed. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and brilliantly equipped for all - with Netflix in the front room for the kids, and a super-king bed in the main bedroom for an excellent night's sleep. Both Gilbert and daughter Emma were so friendly, and honestly couldn't do enough for us. We are already planning to return in 2020.

  • "This cottage is a little gem, really comfortable, warm, lovely wet room, wood burner, very fast internet its perfect."

The hosts Gilbert and his daughter Emma are lovely people could not be more accommodating. They even left me a birthday present and card. Forgot to mention the fabulous hot tub which we both used. The outside sitting area with barbecue is totally secure so if you've got dogs or little ones they can't wander off. It has fabulous views and if your into wildlife on our first evening I saw a Hen Harrier(which are rare) two hares and a Red kite. This area of Shropshire is so beautiful. It was the best short break we've ever had in this country. We will certainly be coming back to this stunning property.

  • "An absolutely superb cottage."

Gilbert and Emma were outstanding hosts and we couldn’t have asked for better. We stayed with our two children over the Bank Holiday weekend. The property has just been renovated with brand new hot tub, outdoor BBQ and log burner. Beautiful views from the living room (and hot tub!) looking out over the valley, very peaceful and relaxing with a wide range of walks and historic sites to visit nearby. The Shropshire Way, Nipstone Rock and Stokesay Castle were particular highlights. We are already planning a return stay. 10/10.
