Lovely countryside views and views towards the Wirral and Liverpool in a clear day. A short drive to shops, cafes and rail station. Owners very helpful and available if needed.

  • "A lovely place to stay."

Could have moved in permanently. A couple of minor things we could suggest, the condition of the bathroom mirror and towel rail were not to the same spec as the rest of the property and no magnifying mirror for those with, like us, with ageing eye sight. Also the towels could do with addition of bath sheets. Surprised we did not find a "user" manual for the place. However having said all this we'd would have no hesitation in going back there. Gareth and Martine were welcoming.

Hello Anthony, thank you for your feedback. We depend on our guests' comments to continually improve our property and maintain the high standards we have set ourselves. I would, however, like to point out that all relevant information about the cottage (heating system, recycling etc) as well as practical tips on sightseeing, shopping and eating out are emailed to all guests before arrival, as was indeed the case prior to your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "Lovely place to stay, very quiet area but close to Rhyl and Llandudno by car."

Woodlands is very well equipped and the owners have thought of everything with the kitchen, which had all that we needed. The only minor point (more for Sykes than the owners) is that the 'pub 0.1 mile away' has been shut for some time and is not planned to open again in the near future. Would consider staying here again in the future if we are around that way.

  • "Woodlands is a stylish, comfortable and convenient base suitable for all members of the family, whether spending time relaxing in the beautiful sitting room or outside on the patio, or exploring the surrounding area."

A short drive takes you to the beach and very long prom for walking and cycling. We also walked from the property to the lighthouse on Talacre beach and back (a bit hilly!). The high street in Prestatyn has a butcher, baker, cheese shop and good deli, among many other interesting indie shops, and there is also a large shopping complex with Tesco, and M&S, among other national retailers. Further along the coast we visited impressive Llandudno and drove up it’s neighbour, Great Orme, where there are Bronze Age copper mines open to the public. We also explored NT garden Bodnant and continued into Betswy Coed in the foothills of Snowdonia. Also, if castles are your thing, then this area should certainly keep you busy. The owner, Martina, lives next door and you couldn’t wish to meet a more friendly and helpful host. All-in-all, an excellent holiday

A lovely cottage in a lovely small picturesque village. The accommodation was clean, modern and had everything that we needed. It was a great base, with many local walks to do, and lots of sites to see. Also near to the beach which is a bonus. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a great setting, then this is the place for you. The owners were there if we needed anything (which we didn't) and this was reassuring. It was immaculately cleaned and the instructions for Covid during our stay and when we departed very clear and simple. We loved our stay in North Wales and this cottage is ideally placed to explore the area and surrounding sites. We loved the beach at Talacre, which is only 2 or 3 miles away. She made us feel very much at home. The only issue that we had with the holiday in the area and this had nothing to do with the accommodation, is that many local attractions which we would have liked to have visited at this time required bookings ahead of the visits because of the Covid situation so because of the time constraint we didn't get to see as much as we would have liked

The cottage is a lovely old stone building, tastefully converted and containing the bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom, with a modern extension providing a large, comfortable living space. The whole cottage was spotlessly clean, probably the cleanest we’ve ever seen, which is very reassuring at the moment. The owners were great hosts, happy to check you had everything you need before leaving you to it, whilst the welcome pack was very thoughtful, even including hand sanitiser. The village is very quiet but you are very close to Prestatyn for food shopping etc The cottage is superbly equipped & laid out with even a new Barbeque which was delivered whilst we were there. Bedrooms are large & comfy with a well equipped bathroom with separate shower & bath. We spent a day shopping at Cheshire Oaks which is only 1/2hr by car & the rest of the time sight seeing around Snowdonia Park & Angelesey. Great fish & chips at Conwy & a nice place to visit. We will return when visiting this part of the country again. Thanks again Martina & well done to Gareth for such a smart conversion !!!!
