  • "Yr Hen Efail and host absolutely excellent."

Sykes experience not so excellent. On booking, website not working so telephoned instead and was going to be charged extra for this service until I objected. Also requested clarification of travel instructions and this was eventually ignored. Sykes needs to do a little better. Patrick White.

The weather was brilliant and this enabled us to enjoy sitting on the attached terrace which had fantastic views of the River Conwy as well as the lush vegetation in the terraced gardens of the main house. As a host, Claire couldn't have been better. She was in touch before we arrived and continued to be around in a friendly, helpful manner providing suggestions as to what to do and see in this very beautiful area of Wales.

  • "Had a wonderful stay at The Old Forge."

The owner Claire was really helpful and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. She even accomodated our veganism (and my forgetfullness...). The building is lovely and cosy, fitted out to a high standard with a wood burner which nicely heats the whole house up in minutes! there are also electric heaters if you dont fancy using this. There is a large private garden area with a picturesque mountain view and a stream running through it, perfect for a cosy couples getaway. The location is ideal, easy driving distance to conwy which has all the ameneties like supermarkets etc (plus a huge castle and other attractions), there is also an animal sanctuary within walking distance of a few minutes which was one of the highlights of our visit! We will definately be back, if you book you will not be dissapointed!

What a wonderful review! Thank you so much! Hope to see you both again (I'll rustle up some vegan treats!). Claire Property Owner
