  • "Ferndale is clean, cosy & a home from home as everything is included in the cottage."

It has been very well thought out and the clotted cream fudge & bottle of milk were very welcome. The garden is secure so was ideal for our dog. The Ship Inn is 100yards down the road with a good menu & delicious food. There is a Spar down the road near the Glyn y Weddw Arms which also has delicious food. We visited Llanbedrog beach where the cafe bar sells delicious ice cream & a varied menu. Abersoch is a lovely fishing village which is about 3 miles away with a gorgeous beach. We really enjoyed our stay & will be returning

  • "A lovely cottage refurbished to a high standard."

Off street parking a bonus. Unfortunately builders arrived next door making it noisy inside and out.

Hi Helen I'm sorry to hear you were disturbed by building work in the neighbouring property, we weren't aware of any work being carried out. Thank you for bringing it to our attention, we will make further enquiries. Property Owner

  • "Bijou but lovely cottage, just right for me and (adult) daughter to relax for a few days."

Garden was fully secure so we could let our adventurous cocker spaniel have some freedom. Great little covered area for washing dog paws and removing/drying boots. Outside chairs comfy and reclined so also good for lounging. Would have liked second set of keys or for one door to be unlockable from inside without key. Couldn’t find keys one morning (agreed place to leave them after that) and made me nervous about getting out quickly in an emergency.

Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. With regards to the keys, we've since changed the locks so the door can now be opened from the inside without the need for a key. Property Owner

We had a couple of lovely meals at the Ship Inn just a couple of doors down the road and this was a perfect base to explore the area.

  • "It was a well presented cottage with a good situation for visiting the Lynn Peninsula."

However the cottage was cold in the mornings and evenings. The central heating didn’t work so we contacted Sykes twice and the information passed onto them by the owner was useless. Nothing further was done. There is a log burner but as this was a holiday we didn’t want to be lighting it and cleaning it out daily. This needs to be sorted for when the weather gets colder.

Thank you for your feedback, and we are so sorry that you were inconvenienced. The heating was checked over the weekend and we can confirm everything was working as it should. Property Owner

  • "We contacted Sykes on the night of arrival to enquire about the availability of a grill pan tray and wire rack."

There was a oven/frill but not pan/rack at the property. Jackie at Sykes provided reference number and promised to get back to us. We heard nothing for 7 days. It was such a shame and spoilt the local food we had purchased for a cooked breakfast, frying makes such a mess and is not very healthy. Bedding bottom sheet on double bed was very tired and nobbly with lots of black fluff. Would be great to have a washing up bowl provided, washing up very difficult as hot water from combi boiler took ages to come through which meant you could not top up with hot water which probably explained why cutlery was quite greasy when we arrived. Nice to have - a simple basic cafetière for coffee. We really appreciated the garden and parking at the cottage, the property is ideally situated for exploring the Llyn Peninsular.

Perfect location for exploring the area and the pub being so close was an added bonus! Would love to return.

  • "The bath was blocked, the water just from a shower was taking 20 minutes to drain, we reported it on Monday morning but nobody could come out until Wednesday."

We ended up buying drain unblocker and doing it ourselves, which was refunded. I feel this is something that should have been sorted same day, being a holiday cottage owner myself.

Nice shop at the bottom of the hill and nice pub 1 minute walk away. It did state in the welcome pack there was a welcome pack of wells cakes and milk which wasn’t provided but wasn’t a big deal for us but would have been a nice touch. • "Cottage was very comfortable for two of us."

We think 4 adults might find it claustrophobic. Family with two children should be ok. Road outside property is rather busy, care is needed when driving out of parking space. Also there is no pavement outside. Cottage was cool on warm days, to the extent of being cold in the evenings. We had to turn on the heating at times although we did not use the log fire. Bathroom is small but adequate, kitchen is similar. Some instruction regarding the refuse collections, and the recycling bins would be useful. Altogether we found this a good base for exploring the Llyn peninsula.
