The scenery outside the windows was a bonus. The property is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. It was very tidy when we arrived and the kitchen is complete with cooking utensils. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

  • "The location is perfect and convenient and the parking very handy."

In the centre of town and walking distance to the Llanberis Path. Facilities were basic but more than adequate if you are climbing/walking the majority of the time you just need somewhere to make a cup of tea and rest. Nice touch of cards, board games , books etc. Communication via booking.com wasn’t great but I contacted Matthew direct and he responded immediately. Would definitely stay again ! Thanks

  • "The location of this apartment is fantastic - all of Llanberis is just a short walk away."

The local shop for food was literally a stone's throw from the apartment. The apartment is really light, with windows on both sides, and great views all around. The kitchen is equipped for cooking with a good cooker and hob, and the shower is lovely, although a bit problematic to get going (however the guidebook provides a work around for this). The electric heating was a bit of a problem - only two convector heaters and two other fan heaters, although we were given a third fan heater. This gave us heating in two of the three bedrooms, the lounge and the kitchen, but the towel rail in the bathroom wasn't working at all during our stay, so this room was colder. Convector heaters in all rooms would have been quieter and more comfortable, although we do particularly feel the cold, so other guests may find the temperature easier. The beds, sofas and dining chairs were all comfortable. The wifi worked from time to time, but the mobile signal was good enough to get 4G when the wifi cut out. A large TV (for those who want one) with a good reception. The apartment is upstairs, but the stairs aren't steep. We'd recommend this flat, but if you feel the cold, bring a couple of extra layers for the evenings.

  • "We often find it difficult to get suitable accommodation for a family of 5 so we were delighted with the location, value and welcome at Station Apartments."

This was an ideal base to explore Snowdonia and had ample space. The bath and shower were well used after our adventures and the kitchen met all our needs. The landlord was on hand whenever needed. The weather ensured we made use of the games in the apartment and although it was the height of summer the little heater came in handy too. Highly recommended for a family like ours.

  • "We had a great time at the apartment."

It is a really nice place and a fantastic location. Being able to check in late and check out early was great for us. The towel rail in the bathroom didn't work so it was a little chilly in there but everything else was great. We would like to stay again in the future.

    Reviewed by JonathanMay 2019

  • "Flat was cold - it doesn't have central heating, and the supplied electric heaters were insufficient to heat the whole flat."

Also, the towel rail in the bathroom only got hot briefly (and only on Sunday morning). Bed was uncomfortable - the mattress isn't pocket sprung, so any movement woke the other up, and the bed linen was poly-cotton. Everything in the kitchen needed washing before use.

It is so central for North Wales that you can get anywhere from Up Snowdonia to Port Merion to Llandudno and the Orm tramway. We will be back as long as we don't have to use Sykes to book through

This is a wonderful location for all the family. Water sports and the mountains will keep you entertained even in the snowy conditions that we experienced. Throw in the two narrow gauge railways, walks, slate museum, hydro electric experience, cycle tracks and plenty of places to eat out, means never a dull moment. This holiday home is right in the middle of all the above activities. You can park your car right outside the door and forget about till it its time to go home. (Once you have been you will want to come back and explore more of this activity packed corner of Wales)

However we holidayed in November and felt that the heating supplied was highly inadequate. If it had been July we would have been very impressed with the apartment. Our only complaint is the heating arrangement as apart from being cold had a great holiday. We would highly recommend the apartment, but would strongly warn anyone of the heating arrangements in winter.

  • "We have just come back from our break in Llanberis."

As a group of friends we have explored the area and climbed Snowden. This was the perfect base with all amenities really close by and I mean really close. Matthew, Val and Anne were super nice and extremely welcoming. Nothing was to much trouble which really made our holiday even more special. The apartment was lovely and very well kitted out, beds comfy, big kitchen, nice sitting room. We even played monopoly which was there. I haven't done this in years and I could see they have put a lot of thought in to providing little extras. On the Friday we had friends who were staying in the area over for drinks over as the apartment was so homely. I would recommend this to family or friends alike looking for somewhere to stay and base themselves for exploring this part of the world.

About the location

LLANBERIS

Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a mecca for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train via the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year, a triathlon known as the world's toughest, and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26-mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. The area is also popular for mountain biking, open water swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 7 miles from Llanberis on the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn, Plas Newydd and Bodnant Gardens.
