  • "A fabulous house, with everything you need and more."

It was perfectly suited for our group of four adults, six children and a dog, with plenty of space across the three floors. Lovely little garden, with the stream - I can imagine this is such a lovely place to sit out in warmer months! The owners were super when we needed to contact them during our stay. I’d highly recommend.

What an amazing property in a great location. The house is huge, and is on 3 levels. There was 10 of us there and it easily fitted us all in with plenty of space for each of us. There are nearby shops, takeaways and pubs, and a lovely little park. All is with 1 to 5min walk from the property. We stayed with 2 dogs who loved all the walks and the space in the house. Donna was lovely and so accommodating eg leaving Christmas dec’s up for us and even let us check in early! (thank you) We would definitely stay again.

  • "Ty Coch is a beautiful house, it has everything you need, the main thing we couldn't cope with was there was no groundfloor bedroom which was stated in the features, my 91 year old mum had to be carried down the stairs for 3 nights, it was very stressful for her, if there are no groundfloor bedrooms it should not be stated on the features."

If a disabled person was to stay there they would not be able to get down to the lower ground bedrooms. It needs to be removed, it's wrong advertising.

We had such a lovely stay with 3 generations of family and all found Ty Coch such a pleasant stay with family friendly facilities. The small touches were fab; plastic plates and cups etc for use outside. A bottle of milk, Prosecco, and a Bara brith was also appreciated. The place is really well equipped and so homely and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our coronation weekend in Wales!

Ty coch is located in Central Llanberis, 5 mins walk from shops and eateries and the lake. The house is very spacious, perfect for two families with a very large and well equipped kitchen/diner, lounge and self contained games room (inc table football) for children. Outside there is a stream running past, which creates a wonderful relaxing sound in the house. The off road parking is much appreciated in Llanberis. Llanberis is an ideal base for all kinds of outdoor activities - hiking, climbing, kayaking, beaches, castles, wild swimming in the lake, etc etc. We barely had time to go to the shops! Donna and Steve, the hosts, are wonderful people, really friendly and responsive and they made us feel very welcome both on arrival and throughout. We very much hope to be back soon. Thank you!

Generally the only sound being the lovely stream. The property itself was stunning and had everything that we needed and more. All the rooms were good sizes, with plenty of storage space. The kitchen area was huge, which was great for socialising whilst cooking and eating. As we were out walking every day, it was great to have somewhere to put your boots. I would definitely stay here again, as it was clean and comfortable, with extra welcoming touches. I was in an upstairs room, a mirror in that bedroom would have been handy. The only slight downside was having to go downstairs to use the toilet and down another set of stairs to use the shower. Not sure if it's possible to do anything about this. Definately a 10/10 from me. Loved it. X

About the location

LLANBERIS

Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a mecca for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train via the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year, a triathlon known as the world's toughest, and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26-mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. The area is also popular for mountain biking, open water swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 7 miles from Llanberis on the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn, Plas Newydd and Bodnant Gardens.
