  • "A beautiful and spacious house in a picturesque village (Llanberis)."

Our hosts ensured that we had everything we needed on the first day of arrival (e.g. to make a cup of tea!). We appreciated the kind little gestures. The games room and overall space meant that the children were able to have a lovely time as the grownups had long conversations in the kitchen!

  • "Our visit to Ty Coch was excellent as the house is amazing, it has all the facilities that you need and is very clean and comfortable."

The location is brilliant as it is just a few minutes from the town yet you would not think so as it is very quiet and peaceful. Donna the owner is very pleasant and helpful as checked in with to make sure everything was all right and she informed me that we might experience low water pressure as there had been a leak close by. I would stay in Ty Coch again whenever I next visit Llanberis.

  • "The holiday was the best we've had."

Ty Coch was the cleanest most comfortable holiday home we've ever stayed in. It is situated in the most beautiful part of Wales. We had a couple of little problems that the owners Donna and Stephan sorted out straight away. They are a lovely couple and would highly recommend them and Ty Coch to any one. This is our second time of holidaying with Sykes and carry one doing so n the future.

  • "We had a fantastic week staying in Llanberis at Ty Coch."

The hosts were easy to contact prior to our stay, and made our stay much more comfortable by providing a cot, high chair and stairgates. Ty Coch is really well equipped for all the family (there were three generations of us) comfy beds and sofas and plenty of space for everyone and a great dining/kitchen with everything you need. There are so many things to do from the doorstep; Slate museum, Ropeworks, Llyn Padarn Railway, waterfalls and obviously Snowdon! Beautiful walks, and even more activities within a short drive/bus ride. We had great takeaways from the Chinese, Indian and chippy in the village.

  • "Ty Coch is an amazing home with everything you need for a fantastic holiday."

The small welcome pack of Milk, Welsh cakes and Prosecco was lovely. It was so nice to sit with a cold drink and listen to the stream running just outside the garden. Less than 5 min walk from Ty Coch is Lake Padarn - which has some areas you can paddle in and the water is crystal clear. Our dog loved walking down there each evening to have a swim. The Snowden Mountain Railway is also about 10 minutes walk away. Llanberis is a great base from which to explore Snowdonia and North Wales

Donna was extremely helpful prior to check in and on arrival the house was spotless, there was quite a strong smell of bleach & cleaning products on arrival which in the current climate was reassuring (after venting the windows for a bit this went away). The location was perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to Lyn Padarn and all local amenities but on a quiet back street away from tourists. The house is fantastically equipped and was easily the best place we’ve stayed. We’ll definitely be returning

  • "My wife and I booked Ty Coch just 3 weeks before travelling and everything worked like clockwork."

As others have said this property is well situated, extremely spacious, even more so for a couple, comfortable and with almost every little extra provided we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Donna, the owner, was particularly helpful and called round on the first evening to make sure that everything was ok and even fine tuned the heating system to make sure that we were comfortable. A great place to stay.

  • "The property was perfectly placed for all the amenities around and was very peaceful."

Generally the only sound being the lovely stream. The property itself was stunning and had everything that we needed and more. All the rooms were good sizes, with plenty of storage space. The kitchen area was huge, which was great for socialising whilst cooking and eating. As we were out walking every day, it was great to have somewhere to put your boots. I would definitely stay here again, as it was clean and comfortable, with extra welcoming touches. I was in an upstairs room, a mirror in that bedroom would have been handy. The only slight downside was having to go downstairs to use the toilet and down another set of stairs to use the shower. Not sure if it's possible to do anything about this. Definately a 10/10 from me. Loved it. X

Just the other side of the high street there is a huge lake you can walk around (about 10k). Plenty of places to walk and if you're bikers (like we are), it's a great location to go riding. 10/10 on all fronts.

It was in celebration of my sister's 60th birthday and it was the first time that the 7 of us siblings had stayed under the same roof for 40 years. It was great. The house is clean, spacious, well equipped and well furnished. At no time did we feel cramped together or tripping over each other. There was plenty of room to chill out in the spacious kitchen diner, watch tv in the lounge, or play table football in the basement. I would recommend it highly to anyone and my brothers wife is already looking to book it for a similar family outing with her brothers and their wives. Thank you.

About the location

LLANBERIS

Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a mecca for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train via the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year, a triathlon known as the world's toughest, and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26-mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. The area is also popular for mountain biking, open water swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 7 miles from Llanberis on the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn, Plas Newydd and Bodnant Gardens.
