!! The facilities at the cottage was perfect I managed to cook a full English breakfast each morning and even a 3 course meal for me and my fiancée, bed was to die for very comfortable and pillows was so comfy I wanted to bring them home with me lol, village people was so friendly as was the owners who at a drop of a hat was at the cottage with any queries I had regarding lighting the log fire he quickly came and showed me and gave me more logs for our stay, we had a roast in the local pub called The Penryn Arms and it was probably the best roast we've had and very reasonably priced apple crumble and custard was also a winner, very nice atmosphere, warm cosy and very friendly too, our stay from start to finish was perfect, WE RECOMMEND THIS COTTAGE TO ANYONE!!

Hi there, Thank you for your very kind feedback. We do try our very best to ensure that our guests have the best stay at lovely little Craiglwyd Bach. It has everything you need for your stay. It's the cleanest property I have stayed at by far and the cosiness is second to none...the bed is sooo comfy!! The views overlooking the bay are to die for! Our stay was winter but would love to come back in the spring/summer and sit on the patio taking in the views. We were out every day visiting castles etc which are all really close with this cottage location. There are a couple of pubs a few minutes walk which serve food and are very welcoming. Find the steps from the property straight down to them...Will save you time walking round the windy roads. Definitely will be going back. Thank you for letting us stay it was fab!!

The cottage is delightful and so cosy for the winters nights. It was a special treat for us with it being my birthday, our first anniversary and our first holiday away with our 3 month old. Robin and Fiona we great with communication over email, and even provided a travel cot for our little one, setting it up in the bedroom for us prior to arrival. We loved the personal touch of a card to congratulate us on our anniversary. Again to reiterate others, the road is narrow and steep, and takes a bit of confidence to navigate it however after a couple of goes you do get the hang of it. Lovely stay thanks again!

The views are great - lovely sunny private patio. Good location for exploring. Appreciated the welcome pack and a welcome pack of wood and stick wood for the woodburner- thank you. Cottage really snug, - and a really comfy bed. The walk leaflet was great - the views from the top of the hill behind the cottage were fab. We went up the Great Orme on the tram - great fun and did the Park Walk - a must also is to go to Angel Bay and see the seals ( only a few minutes drive from the cottage ) We would recommnd to anyone and hope to stay again.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. Glad you enjoyed some of the local walks. The Park Wall is really bracing in the winter, but a great preparation for a visit to one of the local hostelries!! Property Owner

The furniture is very comfortable and you sleep like a baby in the huge bed. There are two pubs in the village which are really good and the staff and locals are so welcoming and friendly. The owners are next door if you need them for advice, which is also reassuring if you have any problems. ( which I doubt as the cottage is perfect.) The drive up to the cottage has to be carefully manoeuvred as the driveway is extremely narrow! We look forward to returning to the cottage later in the year. Sykes said that the cottage was on one level, WRONG there are three stairs into the bedroom, which for people with mobility problems is an issue. The cottage provided a quiet, comfortable home from home, away from the hustle and bustle of Llandudno but within easy reach of all its amenities. There is an excellent bus service into Llandudno & beyond for those willing to walk down the hill into Penrhyn Bay (& back up again!). The parking at the owner’s property was as described, but not for the faint hearted and vacant parking spaces in the small village square never materialised while we were there. That said, we had a wonderful time, enhanced further by the good weather.

Walking through the door and all your stress just melts away. Front room is furnished with a couch, chair, Table w/2 chairs, TV & beautiful wood burning stove - lit for two of the nights we were there and kept the room nice, warm & cosy. The garden was a plus and our dogs loved it, but it was Also nice that it was enclosed and secure. It was lovely after a day out to come back and sit in the garden with a coffee, and watch the world go by. Seeing the harvest moon rise was a sight I will never forget ~it was spectacular. The bed was absolutely huge and extremely comfortable, and the furnishings were within keeping of a cottage of that age. Carrying our luggage up from the village car park was a struggle initially, as the lane is VERY narrow just before the cottage, and we didn’t feel confident enough to drive up the last part to get to the private driveway, however by the next day we had learned to master it with care. The kitchen had plenty of cooking equipment in it and plenty of crockery. It also had 2 frying pans which were true to their description of being non stick! We were also gifted a Bara Brith plus tea coffee milk and sugar for our arrival. There were also lots of other kitchen items such as cling film, washing up liquid, fabric conditioner, work top spray, dishcloths, foil ,kitchen towels and tea towels ~ all provided for us !!! The cottage is really close to some lovely places. Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno, The Great Orme, Rhos on Sea, and Colwyn Bay are minutes away, and we visited all of these several times. The village pubs are literally 2~3 minutes walk away, and very welcoming. There’s another pub about 1mile away which also does food too. Anglesey, Bettws Y Coed, and Llanberris are all stunning and well worth the visit, and there is so much more to see and do. For rainy days there’s a small book library or dvds at your disposal, plus cards and other games. The owners Robin and Fiona live next door to the cottage, and are there on hand for any problems you may have-but you are given total privacy to enjoy their property, which is really nice. It felt really homely there. All in all it was a peaceful relaxing break, spent in a beautiful part of Wales.

  • "The living room was too cramped and very disappointing."

The sofa & matching arm chair we very soft and took up too much space, in fact most of the space. Siting on a dining chair was not what we expected to have to do on holiday. It was difficilt for one person to sit at the table & the other to try & get past to get to the bedroom. The table was smaill and no lighting near it to do jigsaw or read a book. Lighting in the living room was very low and inadequate. It seems the cottage is loved by dog owners and by those who eat out or sit on the sofa in front of the log fire & watch TV. The bedroom was excellent and the shower/toilet/wash room. The kitchen well equiped except for the old cooker, the grill and oven were unacceptable. Owner was very nice. The road up to the cottage was challenging and the owner guided us up there. It was single track, very narrow with tight bends. That should be mentioned in your description. On the plus side: It was very near our family who we were visiting, and friends at a local church. Hilltop walks from the door. Lovely prom walks & beach at Colwyn Bay.

  • "Nice cottage, in a good location."

Our first experience of North Wales. The cottage was very pleasant and the bed was the best we have ever experienced in all the years of self-catering cottages. The basin in the bathroom would benefit from being an inch or two deeper and with a plug that seals. Kitchen well-appointed but a more modern cooker (with better temperature control) would be better. Anyone who likes old pubs would love the Old Penryhn Arms, which is in walking distance. All in all a very positive experience.

It is not far away from a quiet beach in the bay, perfect for winding down ( or cooling off if you are a dog ) after a busy day sight seeing. We were welcomed with everything to make that first cuppa and slices of the best Bara Brith. Safe patio area for dogs and a warm welcome at the Cross Keys pub only minutes away from the cottage where dogs are welcome. The cottage on the hillside means you have to embrace the adventure of driving up hill with tight corners but the shared parking is a plus. We managed it with a Landrover Freelander 2. The sea view is obscured by the owners hedge so a little disappointing as this was one of the reasons for choosing this cottage. I expect it is for their privacy at the expense of the cottage's view. The sofa is old and very uncomfortable. Shame, as sitting in front of the log burner on the cold rainy afternoons would have been idilic. Leaving a cottage in a clean and tidy condition is a given but being informed on where all the cleaning materials and hover are and requested to clean the cottage for the next guests is not what I expected.

About the location

LLANDUDNO

Conwy 4 miles, Colwyn Bay 6 miles, Snowdonia 20 miles.

Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
