  • "The location of the cottage was lovely and couldn’t be faulted."

The parking was unavailable due to maintenance but there was plenty of room to park behind the cottage, just meant carrying all our things a little further. The cottage was clean but was showing signs of wear and tear, Particularly the carpets and smelt damp, understandable for the age of the property. Disappointed that there was no little welcome pack not even a pint of milk but luckily we’d taken some. No cleaning sponges to wash the dishes, no salt and pepper and the baking trays had all seen better days. The towels were really rough and there was no hairdryer. I understand that the property is no longer available which probably is why this wasn’t our best stay. I had expected more for the price we paid for a 4 night stay it certainly wasn’t worth how much it cost unfortunately.

  • "Great location, tucked away in the town centre."

Lovely house, clean and quiet with all that was needed, with the exception of a dvd player. Good communication from owners, nothing a problem.

  • "Perhaps mention steepness to get up to cottage, ok if fit, but not so easy if not so fit."

Having said that it is worth the effort. Also, no grass at property, so if you have grass trained dogs you will need to take them on lead for a wee etc. Please don't let this put you off booking 'Orme Cottage' as the views are lovely & the cottage is beautiful.

  • "Our stay at Orme Cottage was really lovely and we would have liked to stay longer."

The weather cooperated during our stay and we were able to enjoy drinks on the terrace taking in the view early each evening and coffee in the morning. We are a family of 5, 3 generations and all really enjoyed our stay. Our 11 year old was happy to have blazing fast wifi! The only point to consider staying here is the single bathroom which may be a concern if you are staying with friends vs family. Having onsite parking was vital as Llandudno was a zoo when we arrived so there was no additional parking. While parking is tight we were able to get our rental - VW Maxi Caddy into the spot and out at the end of our stay. During our stay we walked everywhere we wanted to go so didn't have to worry about getting the vehicle back in and out. Communication with Pasquale and Mison was easy and Pasquale even popped by the cottage to make sure everything was going ok. He recommended visiting Happy Valley Gardens, a short walk from the cottage, which was amazing and we wish we would have visited on day 1! A great rental and I would stay here again if given the chance.

  • "Lovely, quaint cottage set within walking distance of the centre of llandudno, but out of the way from the bustle."

Nice views of the sea from the patio where one can share a quiet afternoon drink with the family. Perfect location to access all of the places of interest in the vicinity, whilst also on the road network to travel to all of the other amazing sites that Wales has to offer. With very pleasant neighbours this property has a real sense of home from home where you can relax and put your feet up. In addition, the chip shop at the top of the street has the best fish and chips we have ever tasted, if you fancy a family night in.

  • "Excellent location, right near the Orme Tram stop, Pub round the corner and so is the Fish & Chip shop."

Close enough to everything that you never need to use the car and far enough away from town for peace and quite when time to chill out and relax.

  • "Great location."

Spotlessly clean. Great beds. Nicely decorated. Recommended. A couple or so caveats. 1. Access to property is difficult for anyone of limited mobility. Impossible for a wheelchair user. 2. Internal staircase is very steep and would be difficult for anyone with bad knees or hips. 3. Parking space is limited and cannot take anything larger than a Ford Focus size car. You need to be confident with you reversing technique!!! BUT WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND WOULD RETURN IF VISITING LLANDUDNO AGAIN 5*

  • "A lovely cosy cottage with the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in."

Tastefully furnished and close to all amenities. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need and the owners are within easy reach if you need them. The staircase is however very steep and narrow and the cottage is situated on the side of the Orme so you need to be quite fit to get up to it. Not suitable for people with disabilities. However this means the views are spectacular from the property, especially from upstairs. You can see the North Shore and West Shore and the mountains in the distance as well as over the town which is particularly spectacular at night. If you enjoy walking there is nowhere better than the Great Orme with some challenging walks but seeing the goats and seals makes it worthwhile. Or get the tram up and walk down!

  • "Quaint cottage that needs some TLC."

.. one main issue regarding no working oven, made the stay difficult.. Sykes’s managed to organise a refund for this major problem which should not of happened... cottage sleeps 5 but only lounge seating for 4 persons, personally not big enough for 4 adults and winter holiday where you tend to stay at the cottage in the evening to relax after a busy day...basic facilities in-house. Several concerns re banister rail and loose electric sockets which I gave feedback to owner and which he stated would be addressed. Guests to be aware of the slippery walkway to the cottage.. otherwise good view points... Shame to say but we won’t be staying there again but will use Sykes Cottages again due to professionalism and efficiency....

Thank you for choosing our cottage and for taking the time to write a review. We regret that the oven encountered issues during your stay and immensely apologise for the inconvenience this caused you and your family. We had tried our very best to resolve the unforeseen situation as soon as we could possibly manage, and we now have organised for a new cooker installation this week. We continuously upgrade the quality of our cottage whenever we can to maintain the best comfort for our customers. Property Owner

  • "Just returned from Orme Cottage."

The cottage was wonderfully warm and snug, perfect for a winter break, but thanks to very mild weather we actually sat outside on the terrace for a glass of wine! The terrace has lovely views of Llandudno and the Welsh Hills and we could imagine ourselves sitting out there on summer evenings. A lovely spot! A very easy walk into town and nothing to taxing on return, bit of an incline but nothing 3 moderately fit 70 years olds couldn't handle. Amazed to see three goats munching on the vegetation 2 doors down, they visit regularly apparently from their home on the Orme. Must mention the comfy beds, not always guaranteed in the cottages we've visited. The dogs loved the terrace, lovely neighbours too, would love to visit again.

About the location

Conwy 4 miles, Colwyn Bay 6 miles, Snowdonia 20 miles.

Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
