“The main issue that we had was that before I committed to go what the cleaning process & protocols were in realtion to COVID - I was sent this message from them 'We are members of the British Holiday Parks Association and have been following their guidance plus the guidance Sykes have provided us with.”

We are registered with the World Health Organisation and have followed all their guidelines. ...

We are registered with the World Health Organisation and have followed all their guidelines. >> >> Our Cleaning Team have completed a course on cleaning for Covid-19. We have placed hand sanitiser at the entrance to each property. We have reduced all the pots, pans, cutlery etc. down the a minimum and all pots are washed and then steam cleaned on each changeover. We also steam clean all surfaces and soft furnishings before leaving the property. All mattress protectors and pillows are replaced after each set of guests and all the beds are steam cleaned after the cleaners have made them up. We have removed books and games etc. from the property.' I explained I am a COVID nurse and the level of cleanliness was of high important to us - we unfortunately had to inform the owner that the high surfaces were thick of dust and sent him a video/photos - he did not offer to come and clean it - we decided to leave a day early as it was more apparent that more surfaces were thick of dust and the level of hygiene was very poor Also the Lodge is on a shared driveway with a large house and it is overlooked by this house - this is not explained in the advert

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We take real pride in offering the best possible service and facilities for our guests and customer feedback is invaluable in identifying any areas for improvement. Thanks for flagging that there was some dust on a couple of high surfaces; this has been fed back to our cleaning team and we have of course addressed this for future guests. Had we been made aware of your concerns at the start of your holiday or when Derek visited every day to test your hot tub we could have made arrangements to address this for you, however as you advised us 5 days into your holiday we took the view that due to Covid restrictions we would be better to leave some dust on the high surfaces rather than put ourselves and your family at risk by entering the property; we would always encourage our guests to make us aware of any issues as soon as they arise and we’re very happy to help. We have worked really hard in recent weeks to ensure we have a very thorough cleaning regime in place and we’re confident that this provides a really safe environment for our guests. As per the listing on the website, this property shares a gravelled driveway with the property next door. We hope that you and your family were able to enjoy your holiday and we wish you all the best - Sykes owner relations

About the location

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
