  • "An amazing stay in North Wales- already looking at re-booking!"

This holiday rental offers a full range of amenities for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bed was cozy, a large bathroom with luxurious power shower, accessories for the beach, stunning sea views, and impeccable cleanliness - by far one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed including most hotels. Conveniently, there is a well stocked co-op and takeaways(chinese, curry, f&c) within walking distance, a couple of cafés on the promenade, and reliable public transport (bus and train). Lots of national trust places to visit nearby and the nature reserve is just a short walk away. Additionally, the owner provides a thoughtful welcome pack including welsh cakes, milk and a magnet.

Thank you for your lovely comments, we too enjoy evening walks along the sea shore, having the nature reserve so close means there’s always something to see and the view towards Anglesey changes constantly with different light and weather conditions Property Owner

It has everything you could want from a holiday apartment. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, super shower, sea views and spotlessly clean. Supermarket and takeaways are within walking distance, there's a cafe on the promenade and a good bus service and train station for those who don't want to drive. Lovely welcome pack from the owner too. My favourite place to stay in North Wales.

Thank you for your lovely comments and for coming back to Gwylanedd. I’m always happy to have guests return, there’s so much to do in the area, and Llanfairfechan is a great base. Property Owner

We found it to be spotlessly clean and well appointed with everything needed for a self catering holiday. The welcome pack of milk, bara brith and Welsh cakes was a nice surprise and set us up for the first evening. The instructions about how to find the house were very clear and accurate, as were those for the appliances when we arrived. The apartment made an excellent base for visiting some lovely places in this beautiful part of the country. We highly recommend this lovely apartment.

Thank you very much for your kind comments, I agree Llanfairfechan is an ideal base for exploring our part of North Wales, Gwylanedd being on the Promenade with its lovely views and spectacular sunsets offers a very relaxing place to return to each evening. Property Owner

Llanfairfechan is quiet but has all we needed, cafe, promenade for watching the world, even people dropping out of the sky onto the grassy area! And Netflix!

  • "The apartment is spacious, comfortable, smart, well-equipped and very clean."

There is ample storage space in the kitchen, and the fridge and freezer are a good size. Likewise there is lots of wardrobe and drawer space in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable. There was always plenty of hot water and the shower maintained a consistent temperature. The 39” TV has an excellent picture quality. Communication with the owner by email was easy and lots of useful information about the area was provided in advance. The cakes and milk found on arrival were much appreciated. The only negative points were: 1. The colour-coordinated cream blinds in the bedroom let almost all the daylight through, such that I was unable to sleep beyond 5am. Although black or dark brown blinds (or curtains) would probably not look so nice, they would be much more effective. 2. Having brought CDs to play, we were disappointed to find no DVD player. This is specifically mentioned on the Sykes information page and needs correcting. 3. The Wifi signal was rather variable so the signal was dropped from time to time, especially in the bedroom; however, the speed was good. Llanfairfechan is a quiet little town with an attractive seafront. The location of the apartment is very peaceful and there are lovely views of Anglesey, the Menai Strait, Puffin Island and the Great Orme. We had a nice Sunday lunch at the Split Willow on Penmaenmawr Road and an unusual, tasty Asian salad at the Seagrass Bistro next to the apartment. The nearby nature reserve to the west of town made for a very pleasant walk and good birdwatching. There is a frequent Arriva bus service (on Penmaenmawr Road) to Bangor, Conwy and Llandudno and even an occasional Llew Jones minibus which on request comes down to the seafront. We used these extensively such that we were able to leave the car in the allocated private parking space for the whole week. The weather was good, the scenery is beautiful and the accommodation really nice, so we had a most enjoyable week and would be happy to return.

Thank you for your feedback, Llanfairfechan although not a main tourist destination is indeed very well placed for touring the North Wales coast, especially using the good public transport network of both bus and rail that is available locally, its great that you were able to leave the car behind and so both driver and passenger can enjoy the spectacular views along the coast. The windows of the flat face east accross Conwy bay, therefore in the mornings on sunny days will get full sun. Accepting that blinds are not always light proof, when decorating it is often necessary to compromise, your constuctive comments about these will be taken into consideration when the flat is next refurbished. The flat has high speed wifi broadband, Llanfairfechan is a coastal mountainous location and Gwylanedd is a granite building, both WiFi and mobile phone reception can be affected by this environment, providers are making improvements to the available services in the village every year. DVD provision was removed during Covid and the older TV has been replaced with a SMART TV taking advantage of the availabilty of high speed broadband, as part of covid adaptations a Netflix subscription has been added to the TV for use by guests. This area of North Wales has more to offer than can be explored in a week, please come back soon. UPDATE AUGUST 2023 - Blackout curtains have been added to the bedroom, retaining the blinds for privacy, hopefully this will prevent early awakening in the East facing room for those guests wanting a lovely long lie in. Internet connection in the village has been improved , the property currently now has over 40mbs download speed in all corners of all rooms as it has a complete wifi service. Property Owner

We even had milk in the fridge and delicious Welsh cakes awaiting us on arrival. The position of the apartment was also fabulous with beautiful views of the sea and mountains. We found Llanfairfechan to be a great center for exploring north Wales. The only criticism being that there was not much to do at night. The bistro next door only opens on Friday and Saturday night and if the owners could be persuaded to open more evenings then It would be perfect.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, Sadly the excellent SeaGrass Bistro currently only opens in the evenings at weekends although it is open for breakfast and lunch 5 days each week. We agree Llanfairfechan is a very quiet village in the evenings, our sea front sunsets can be spectacular but there are only a couple of pubs and the sailing club ( visitors welcome), however the cinema is a short drive / bus ride away, and Venue Cymru in Llandudno often has a variety of shows that are worth seeing. We agree Gwylanedd is very well placed, on the Wales Coastal path, both for flat coastal walks in and around the local nature reserves as well as for more strenuous mountain walking in the Snowdonian Carneddau, without any need to take the car or worry about parking. We have stayed in a great many self-catering holiday properties and, without doubt, this is one of the very best. High quality décor throughout, with furnishings and fittings all well maintained. On arrival, the welcome we received was excellent, with plenty of little touches to quickly ease us into a relaxed holiday. With an elevated position, located right on the seafront, there are fantastic views to Anglesey, Great Orme and Puffin Island from the lounge bay window. There is plenty to do in such a small area of North Wales but the high-light for us was nearby Aber Falls (after a substantial overnight downpour). The village is bisected by the North Wales Expressway but don't let that put you off - it's a short walk to the shops and takeaways (the Indian is very good). There are a few places to eat out in the village but we used Oceans next door - food was good and reasonably priced, though the service was a erratic. Would we go back again? Definitely.
