  • "Well equipped cottage and close to nearby attractions."

Few small additions would assist persons of limited mobility, e.g grab rails. Lovely neighbours and environment and despite being on a busy road very quiet and relaxing. Takeaways couple mins walk and local shop the same. Worth the time to investigate Ruthin and only living 8 miles away was a good time to do just that. Definitely recommend to our relatives if no room at ours. Big bonus off street secure parking.

The cottage is well equipped and was immaculate. Good fast WiFi and having your own parking space was a bonus. We found watching TV a bit uncomfortable because it's on the wall but that's a personal preference. Could clearer information be provided in future about what to do with the rubbish? We always like to leave everything clean and tidy when we leave and we were unsure what to do with the rubbish. Overall a great place to stay and we would recommend it to others.

We had a problem with the configuration of the stairs. We did know that there are two steps between the bedroom and bathroom but unfortunately they are tapered this made for difficult , potentially dangerous night time toilet trips. We are not yet disabled any future guests who may be would not be able to access the bathroom. All other facilities were very good

Owner was very friendly and popped round to check all was ok with our stay. Lovely touch with the welcome pack of cake, milk, tea and coffee. Perfectly placed to explore North Wales. We also explored Ruthin which is a lovely little town and the nearby park was great to walk our dog. Slight downside was not having any secure outside space for the dog but as we were out everyday this didn’t affect us too much. We’ve had a great break away, thank you.

We had a great time, and survived the hot weather! The cottage is beautifully furnished and well equipped. The welcome goodies ( cake, milk, tea and coffee) were much appreciated. We ate locally most days and did trips out to Llandudno and Betws Y Coed. Would definitely stay here again. Only comments I would make is that if you have small children, it does have some steep stairs and the shower has the potential to get very hot. We struggled a little with the cooker, and I would’ve loved to see the instruction manual. Great place though, and Ruthin is an interesting town steeped in history. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • "Very comfortable and cosy cottage, also very warm!"

Had a great stay, shame it’s on a main road as could not have the front bedroom window open at night as it was too noisy - the fan came in handy! The back garden area could also be fenced off to make a small secure section for the dog to roam - don’t need all that parking space as cottage suits one family/one car. The Sykes website also states a games room as one of the facilities - obviously an error?!! Overall, we had a lovely holiday, great base to explore, friendly neighbours and locals.

Very clean , and with excellent facilities , including very good parking . Just on the edge of Ruthin , with a convenience store and petrol station within easy walking distance . Ruthin centre was a 10 min. walk up an incline . The town is really nice , with a couple of supermarkets for your food shopping , independent shops and pubs and restaurants. The only reservation I had was that the back garden is not secure , so if you are taking your pet you will need to exercise them at the local park , which is about 100 yds away and again is very nice. This did not spoil our holiday , and was really only a minor niggle against all the plusses the cottage had to offer . Owner Sion was brilliant . A really nice guy , and very knowledgeable about the area . I would nt hesitate to rebook or recommend this cottage to anyone with or without pet.
