“The cottage was cosy for me and my dog.”

She enjoyed the enclosed garden and adjacent field.

She enjoyed the enclosed garden and adjacent field. Whilst the write up does make you aware of the spiral staircase, I was surprised at how compact it was. Thankfully my sister, who was originally going to join me, didn’t come, so I was able to use the ground floor twin bedroom. We didn’t use the first floor at all and I would suggest anyone thinking of going should carefully consider this restriction. We had a lovely stay and I would consider returning, just me and my dog.

The property

Llangernyw 2 miles.

An attractive two bedroomed semi-detached cottage close to the unspoilt countryside hamlet of Llangernyw, between the coastal town of Colwyn Bay and the inland walking town of Llanwrst, in North Wales.

Overlooking the valley and rolling hills beyond, this lovely cottage provides comfortable and well-equipped accommodation throughout, perfect for couples and families alike.

This pretty cottage forms a wing of the owners farmhouse, set on a four-acre rural registered small holding with friendly sheep, pygmy goats, ducks, geese, chickens, dogs and cats.

There is an opportunity to meet and help feed the animals.

There is an enclosed dog exercise field.

You enter through a bright and airy conservatory with dining table and relaxed seating for two, where you will be able to enjoy morning coffee, afternoon tea and evening meals in comfort.

The sitting room is warm and welcoming with a woodburner set into an exposed stone chimney breast and has comfortable leather sofas to relax into after an exciting day exploring the local area.

The kitchen is well-equipped with all you need for four people and both bedrooms are prettily styled with a ground floor twin room and a first floor super king-size double room, which is accessed up a narrow spiral staircase and has an en-suite shower room.

In addition there is a family bathroom which has both a bath and a shower.

Outside this cosy cottage is a private patio and lawn with barbecue to enjoy a social alfresco meal, perhaps joined by the free-range ducks and chickens wandering around.

Nearby, you will find Surf Snowdonia outdoor surf centre, Tree-Top High Ropes adventure and the delights of Betws-y-Coed with its all-year-round access to Snowdonia, as well as several excellent country pubs within two miles.

The cottage is also close to Eglwysbach in the Conwy Valley, which hosts the finest agricultural and horticultural show in North Wales, a great day out for all the family.

A fantastic cottage, in a superb location, convenient for exploring the North Wales coast and beyond.

About the location

Conwy 8 miles; Llandudno 9 miles; Betws-y-Coed 12 miles.

The village of Eglwysbach is in the wonderful Conwy Valley, which is renowned for its beautiful countryside, scenic walks and the world famous Bodnant Gardens. Nearby Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is one of Britain's most unspoilt historic towns. A true medieval gem, the town is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls - fortified with 21 towers and three gateways, the walls form an almost unbroken shield around the old town. There's plenty to enjoy in Conwy - the picturesque fishing harbour, National Trust's Aberconwy House, Britain's "smallest house" (worth an interesting, if quick, visit!) as well as the town's shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by are good beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking, mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and surfing in Snowdonia and the surrounding hills.
