  • "This was our second stay at Glan Y Gors and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable week; Wales is simply beautiful in the Autumn."

We did have a technical problem with the heating during our stay, but the owner was extremely helpful and the issue was sorted out very quickly. We were left some fresh eggs and other goodies by the owner which was a really nice touch and the cottage is located within a quiet small holding so is a great place to relax and kick back. We thoroughly recommend it!

. I’m not great with driving new places but found it very easy! We arrived a bit earlier so property wasn’t ready that wasn’t a problem for us we just went for a drive, they rang us when it was! Heating on when we arrived back ( been November it had gone cold by 4.30pm) which I thought was very nice, geoff also came out and talked to us about bits n bobs! We was a bit worried we would be to far out but actually it’s a great location to be in and away from all the noise of been in a town/holiday park it was so peaceful! The enclosed garden area was great for the dogs.. they did bark a little at comings and goings but dogs will do that, they enjoyed sniffing round. Also thank you for our little basket of treats that was a nice touch! Myself and my friend who I stayed at the cottage with would definitely stay again and even the dogs loved it.

  • "The cottage itself was really nice and clean and had been updated since we last stayed there."

We booked this cottage again because it still had an Exercise field shown on the web site. We have two spaniels and found the enclosed field very convenient to exercise them before and after being out for the day. However, on arrival, we found it was now being used for goats, which were next to the garden through a very thin wire fence. The dogs continually barked at them which was not very relaxing.

Thank you very much for your feedback on our property. On your arrival we explained that we had goats in the field you had used last year adjacent to the cottage (fenced with strong stock fencing). However you were welcome to exercise your dogs in another of our fields just 50m away and noticed that you used this several times a day during your stay. Due to the nature of farming and keeping livestock we do have to rotate the use of the fields so therefore don’t always have the same field available. We note that your dogs did seem highly sensitive to any activity whether it be a car approaching, livestock, pheasants, people/dogs walking past. Thank you again for your valuable comments. We do hope to see you again in future. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was cosy for me and my dog."

She enjoyed the enclosed garden and adjacent field. Whilst the write up does make you aware of the spiral staircase, I was surprised at how compact it was. Thankfully my sister, who was originally going to join me, didn’t come, so I was able to use the ground floor twin bedroom. We didn’t use the first floor at all and I would suggest anyone thinking of going should carefully consider this restriction. We had a lovely stay and I would consider returning, just me and my dog.

Farm animals great for the children to see and ask about. Good access to the north coast of Wales however this is via single track lanes to and from the location. Ideal for us as a family of four with Two children under 11. They have a camping and caravan club site on the farm as well with electric hook up so options all round. Would recommend.

The dogs were really settled and enjoyed the garden and field. The countryside was beautiful and we went to lots of places that were unspoilt especially Llandudno and Conwy. Geoff was very helpful and had lots of knowledge. The lanes were a bit scary especially when you met a tractor. Thank you for a excellent week.

The host, Geoff, was great and was more than happy to keep my son entertained with feeding the animals on the farm. The location was good, but only if u have a car. There is a great pub that allows dogs and does really great food, about 10mins drive away. We would definitely recommend this cottage and will more than likely return next year.

A local pub - The Stag - provided excellent meals in the evening. The only downside is the postcode didn't work on the sat nav and unless I approached it from Abergele, I knew the way from there, it proved a little difficult to find. The owners are usually available to contact if you need any help with directions and even came out to meet us on arrival when we got lost. We had a great time here and would recommend it, plus, we thought it was good value for the price.

The cottage was very warm and comfortable and the hosts extremely helpful. (lovely fresh eggs!) My sisters dog was very happy to have a garden and a field to play in! Whilst the location is perhaps a little remote for some, it suited us very well and we found it quite easily. We didn't find the narrow lanes a problem as we are used to them. it was perfectly located to visit our brother in Rhyl and we visited Bodnant garden and Conwy which are both nearby and had a good day at each. We will definitely return when we are able to although it may be in a couple of years time due to other commitments. The good weather was the icing on the cake.

  • "The holiday cottage was clean and comfortable."

However, the wifi does not exist there. There is no modem in the cottage as it 'piggy backs' onto the owners adjoining cottage's modem. We realised this when trying out our iPad at various places within the property. The only place it was patchily available was when you stand next to the door which adjoins the owners cottage which is in the hallway. There is no modem or extension to a modem in the holiday cottage. To advertise this as having wifi is simply wrong. When you have to keep in touch with your business during your holiday you expect to get what is advertised. Had we known this was the situation we would have gone elsewhere. Sykes contacted the owner who denied the wifi was not there. I believe Sykes should check this situation out instead of telling me there is nothing they can do about it. YES there is, check it out and then alter your listing and stop misleading the holidaymakers.

We appreciate your comments but were unaware that you continued to have problems connecting to the WiFi. You only mentioned on one occasion that the internet was slow and that you hadn't received an email but didn't ask us for any further help. In the week preceding your stay, the area had suffered from strong winds with interruption to the power supply in the area which did affect our internet speed. Rural internet can be slow but if we had been made aware of further issues we would have been able to assist you further. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Property Owner

Conwy 8 miles; Llandudno 9 miles; Betws-y-Coed 12 miles.

The village of Eglwysbach is in the wonderful Conwy Valley, which is renowned for its beautiful countryside, scenic walks and the world famous Bodnant Gardens. Nearby Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is one of Britain's most unspoilt historic towns. A true medieval gem, the town is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls - fortified with 21 towers and three gateways, the walls form an almost unbroken shield around the old town. There's plenty to enjoy in Conwy - the picturesque fishing harbour, National Trust's Aberconwy House, Britain's "smallest house" (worth an interesting, if quick, visit!) as well as the town's shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by are good beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking, mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and surfing in Snowdonia and the surrounding hills.
