The accomodation was lovely and perfect for our needs. The hot tub went down a treat with our kids, it is overlooked by the other barns, however, We knew this before we went. We ordered fantastic food from The Sun Trevor pub next door and it was brought to our accomodation by lovely staff! This made our holiday. The location is beautiful and has an Aldi and Home Bargain 5 min drive down the road. Paul couldn't do enough for us and works so hard to keep the standards very high. He even contacted us after we left after a member of his team noticed we had left our fishing rods. We would stay again! Thank you to you all.

It has been converted to a high standard and offers good accommodation in two bedrooms. The hot tub is a nice bonus on the terrace although it is overlooked by passing cars and people coming and going to the pub, which makes privacy an issue. There are 2 other barns behind this one so it could be quite busy when all 3 are let. There was a pervading smell from the septic tank while we were there that I hope is sorted soon. Overall it was a lovely week in a beautiful spot with walks along the canal.

  • "We've just got back from staying in "Sun Trevor Barn One" for 4 nights in December 2021, and had a great time."

Paul is a great host - very knowledgeable about the local area, lots of recommendations and clearly takes pride in his properties as well as the local area - and rightly so! We stayed in Barn one which is the smallest of the 3 barns but the one with the all important hot tub outside! The barn/cottage was immaculate. Very clean, all new decor and fitted out to a very high standard. It's clear they have invested a lot of money and effort into making this a modern accommodation - it's fitted with everything from Amazon Alexas to a Smart TV to Nest thermostats with underfloor heating, there is everything you need. The outdoor hot tub is very nice. It's a full size tub with the usual controls - but with views over the local mountains that make it special! Paul checks the pH and water level on a daily basis and the water was crystal clear and foam-free throughout our stay. The pub next door is very friendly, and if you can grab a seat on the comfy sofa by the fire, you won't ever want to leave! The Pub Manager is a very friendly chap who clearly knows a lot about the pub trade, as well as being able to take a superb photograph! He gave us some great tips for exploring the local area - Top bloke and a real asset to the pub. The Sun Trevor restaurant is great with a nice selection of wholesome food at fair prices. We ate there for Sunday lunch, which was excellent. Other local places we ate during our trip were Fouzi's (good) and Three Eagles (exceptional) - both in Llangollen. Taxis were a bit tricky to book - The recommended taxi company "Castle Taxis" had switched their phones off and were not responding to messages - but we managed to get very good service from Z-Cars in Llangollen. Each time they turned up in the right place at the right time and were reasonably priced, so give them a try. Llangollen town centre is a 20 minute brisk walk away from Sun Trevor..... the Aqueduct is an hour or so walk (well worth seeing!)....... the quarry is well worth a visit (ask Paul for details of the hidden footpath!)..... and of course the castle is a must-see. The horseshoe pass is also worth a look as well as the Wier. So in summary this is a great accommodation in a lovely area to visit for a short break, with lots to see - and the Sun Trevor is a great place to eat, drink and sleep!

The barn was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities required for a week away. The hot tub worked perfectly, and the hosts performed a health check on the water every day. The barn is set just above the canal with lovely views over the countryside. It is a perfect base for exploring the local countryside, and the town of Llangollen (easily accessible by walking along the canal towpath). We had meals in the pub and participated in the pub quiz.
