A shame really as the rest of the cottage was excellent.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Fron Oleu."

The cottage was well equipped and the beds were very comfy. We had early morning wake ups due to the cockerel nearby and struggled to use the garden as it was overgrown. The owners were addressing this issue. The owners were very helpful and kind and we had a lovely week.

  • "Great cottage and very comfortable."

Nice to be in the quiet location but just 10-15 minutes from the coast too.

  • "We loved our stay at Fron Oleu, it is set in a small village but is only a short drive away from Pwllheli and the main road."

The beds were really comfortable and the premises were nice and clean upon our arrival. The travel cot, high chair and stair gates were a great addition for our toddler. There is also a park a short walk up the road to help entertain children. We also walked up to visit St.Cybi’s well in the village. The owners were very helpful with requests before we arrived and introduced themselves directly.

However easy to get around the Lyn Peninsular and access main sights.

  • "We were very disappointed in the lack of cleanliness when we arrived at Fron Oleu."

There were cobwebs in several areas of the main rooms, dead woodlice scattered all over the floors and red hair on the bathroom appliances (this did not match either of our hair colour). When we arrived, we had to clean the property before we was comfortable enough to stay. We also found numerous huge spiders in the cottage (and whilst this is to be expected with it being an old building) the cobwebs did not look like they had been cleared in months. When corresponding with the owners we were informed that nobody had stayed at the property in over a year. We also saw numerous live woodlice all over the property (an indication of damp).  Overall we were looking for a relaxing getaway, and this was definitely not been the case, due to the condition of the property. As this was our first experience booking with Sykes Cottages, it will also be our last. Having stayed in several beautiful places around the country over the past year, to say this was a disappointment would be an understatement.

Thank you very much for leaving your feedback on our property. We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed in your stay. The property was cleaned throughly before your arrival. Regrettably, due to the poor weather we experienced that week, this drove in a few more spiders than usual. As they make webs rather fast, you may have noticed a few around the property that popped up after the cleaners had departed. We are rather surprised to hear that you were the first guests in the property in over a year, we have facilitated several bookings before your own, all of which were very content with the standard of the property. We are very sorry if there was a miscommunication over this. Thank you again for your valuable comments. We hope to see you again in future. Property Owner

It is very well equipped and had everything that we needed during our stay. The location of the property in the quiet little village was perfect for exploring the Llyn peninsular and beyond and the sea and mountain views were an added bonus. We hope to return here in the future to explore more.

The cottage was very cozy and comfortable and was very well equipped with everything we could need and more. Everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable, the place was child friendly which is important to us with a one year old. We had a lovely stay here and I’m sure we’ll be back again soon

  • "The cottage was exactly what we’d hoped for."

Set in a lovely quiet village, with access to some great walks - especially to the historic well. The facilities and furnishings were spot on and the whole feel of the cottage, both inside and out was perfect. Well furnished and well decorated and a good layout that enabled us to get good use of different rooms. We’d like to go again, perhaps in the winter and make use of the wood burner! Would defiantly recommend.

  • "We do feel very honoured to be the first guests of new owners Mick and Jenny in their lovely extended cottage, Fron Oleu."

As soon as we entered we were very impressed at the quality of the fixtures and fittings, the little touches that make a place feel like home. Bright, well equipped kitchen, utility room and very handy downstairs loo, large dining room with enormous table and spacious lounge with excellent entertainment facilities and some rather interesting lighting! Upstairs lovely thick carpeting, 3 bedrooms of which the spacious master bedroom has 2 windows, lie in bed and look out to sea or the mountains to the side. The family bathroom as with much of the cottage was newly refurbished to a high standard. A rather interesting rear garden, large table and chairs, with specimen trees including a quite elderly eucalyptus tree! Its obvious Mick and Jenny had worked very hard in the few weeks before our arrival ,they have done a super job, even if some of the paintwork was still a bit tacky! Ideally situated within reach of the excellent Lleyn beaches north and south, a stay in this quiet little village of Llangybi is the ideal place to unwind. Take an evening stroll down to St. Cybi's Well, well worth a visit. We would not hesitate to book again and found it was just right for a long awaited family holiday.
