  • "We had a fantastic stay."

We were celebrating my birthday and retirement so wanted a family get together. Unfortunately my daughter and family couldn’t stay the weekend but managed the meal we prepared for nine of us on the Saturday night. Loads of pans/utensils/crockery etc and the beautiful dining table to seat us all in comfort. The games room and hot tub went down a storm. After the Sunday it was just the two of us but the comfort and cosy evenings in front of the log burner were amazing. The bed was so cosy and the view, watching ewes and lambs was a real treat. The forest trails are just across the road so no need for the car. Coming across the waterfalls and streams were wonderful. Caught the train to Llandudno, great service on super clean train ( Didn’t realise there were 2 stations in Llanwrst ) Another day caught the bus to Conwy. Bus stop at the end of the road passing the peacocks at the castle on the way. I could go on and on …… I always know when we’ve had a great holiday as we don’t want to go home. Thank you to Teleri and Philip for the great stay.

Thanks for the great review and glad that you enjoyed your birthday and retirement celebrations at Pengwern! Teleri Property Owner

  • "Great stay for the family for my mother in laws 80th birthday celebrations."

The property was perfect and exactly as seen on the pictures. The views of the countryside whilst having breakfast and dinner were excellent as were the wider facilities of the games room and hot tub. Teleri was very helpful, checking in with us on arrival and before departure to make sure everything had been good. Easy walk into Llanwrst or 5 minute drive to the local supermarket if needed with a slightly longer (10 minute) drive into Betws Y Coed. Several longer walks right outside the cottage and Capel Curig not too far away either. All in all, a fantastic stay, in a beautiful home, which made the birthday celebrations perfect.

  • "Honestly, it was a perfect holiday!"

The house was absolutely gorgeous, perfect size for 10 people and a dog, the location was stunning, and the hot tub and games room were the icing on the cake, they were used everyday! All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and all hope to come back one day. The beds were extremely comfortable (one of the best I've ever stayed in), most of us found ourselves in the conservatory/dining area most days as the chairs are comfortable and the views are amazing. One thing we appreciate on holiday is not being bothered by the owners, and Teleri was fantastic for this. She dropped by on the second day and the departure day just to check everything was okay, you could text her if we needed anything, and she came by everyday to refill and clean the hot tub, but was not intrusive at all, she was fab! The sofa's were okay comfort wise, but that can be a preference thing, and it wouldn't stop us from coming back, but overall plenty of seating around the house. The fire was also amazing, used it everyday, and there was plenty of wood supplied in the barn for a small fee! Overall, we couldn't praise this house enough and cannot wait until we are able to book again!

Thanks for the great review! Hope that you can return soon. Thanks Teleri Property Owner

We spent a brilliant week here as a family get together and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time here. Set within easy walking distance to the lovely town of Llanwurst with a great choice of pubs. The hosts were very nice and helpful and kept an eye on the hot tub maintenance each day. Betws y coed is well worth a visit and can be walked from the door over the forest path and a train back if preferred. Games room was a nice touch and a bit of fun. I would definitely recommend this place and hopefully will come back too.

  • "Brilliant house, lots of space, very well maintained."

Lovely location! We felt some pressure to be out of the house before 10am despite checkout being at 10am and there were a couple of occasions the hot tub was checked/chlorine added but communication wasn’t clear, it would have been nice to have a clear understanding of whether we needed to stay away and for how long for, each time.

We’re glad that you liked the property and agree that it’s a lovely location. We are very sorry that you felt pressured to leave early as this was certainly not our intention. I explained that the chimney was being swept that morning (we do this annually) and asked if we could have access to the lounge at 9.50am. We were told that this was ok and didn’t access anywhere else in the house. In hindsight, maybe we should have waited until 10am. The hot tub is checked daily and we try our best not to inconvenience the guests. Property Owner
