• "We had a lovely stay in this holiday home and we are pleased with the owner's welcome basket gifts."

  It is clean, neat, comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, good shower and lots of spaces. It's a road side property and there is noisy from vehicles, but doesn't a problem to us and its location is convenient to drive to the town of Criccieth and Porthmadog and the beach. We didn't walk to the beach due to the rainy and windy weather through the week.

  " The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring North Wales. The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely touch! What an amazing property, from the moment we stepped into the entrance hall the ambience of the cottage relaxes you completely. The cottage was immaculate and so clean. The cottage was really comfortable and all the natural light in the surroundings was also really nice. One of the very best properties we have stayed in. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

• "The location is ideal."

  Sea-views from some rooms and a short drive to Cricciethh and Porthmadog. Also only 30 minutes from Snowdon and Beddgelert. The property itself is very nicely done inside with plenty of room. The open plan kitchen/dining room is spacious and very well equipped. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all a good size. The host was friendly and helpful.

• "This is a fabulous home and garden."

  Great base for exploring the area, beautiful beaches, mountains, villages and castles within easy driving distance. Garden is great for badminton and archery in the evening. The whole family loved it would highly recommend.

• "I would not stay at this property again ever , the reason being the road next to Cennin was very very noisey ,no letup untill late at night "gone midnight" ."

  We had a very nice week weather wise and the property is excellent, but for the price there are better places and quieter . One of the bedrooms has only a roof window very stuffy.

  Thank you for your comments and how disappointing to read what you have written. The house is described as a ‘ double glazed roadside property’ and the photograph on the web site shows this. The double bedroom you refer too as having a ‘roof window’ has a very large Velux roof window which is easterly opened and is bright and well ventilated.. Cennin has had excellence reviews by the majority of guest who have stayed there ,as seen on the web site. It may be wise, in the future, that you read the property description before booking. • "We enjoyed our stay very much and the description of the property was correct however, stating a 10 minute walk to the beach was far from accurate."

  We started walking as per the route given by the owner and after some 20 minutes gave up and walked back. We booked the holiday with a 10 minute walk in mind so we could stroll there in an evening aswell as during the day this being false was very disappointing.

• "We were very happy with our stay at Cennin, the house is as spacious as the photos and very warm and cosy."

  We appreciated the generous welcome pack of Easter Eggs, crisps and Gin & Tonics, thank you. Some other reviewers had mentioned the busy road, but we did not find it to be an issue - a little traffic noise occasionally but it did not bother us. The location of the cottage was good for accessing both the National Park, and the Llyn Peninsula, and it was easy to catch the Sherpa bus from Porthmadog. We would happily stay again.

• "Thank you for a lovely stay at Cennin."

  The house is very clean, spacious & well equipped with everything you could need. Situated in the ideal spot for touring the area. The goodies basket was most welcoming along with cheese and milk. Lovely walk down the lane & not far to the beach. Plenty of rock pools for the kids to explore. Criccieth Castle is in easy walking distance, the paths are good and well maintained wether you take the coastal path or roadside footway. We enjoyed visits to Sygun copper mine & the slate museum at Snowdon. A lovey drive around Llanberis pass allows for some excellent panoramic views of Snowdon, before arriving in Caernarfon for the castle. Arriving back at Cennin provides all the comforts of a home from home. A superb shower then a good night's sleep in very comfy beds sets you up for your next adventure. We can highly recommend Cennin for the perfect holiday. The Jennings family.

• "Cennin Cottage, 2nd to 9th October 2021."

  This was our second visit to Cennin, the first was in October 2019. As before the cottage was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. On arrival the ‘welcome basket’ was a lovely surprise and the addition of WiFi since our last visit much appreciated. Mr and Mrs Hughes were attentive and promptly rectified a brief problem with the boiler. The volume of traffic on the road adjacent to the cottage was heavy, but this was clearly mentioned in the description. A short walk to the left of the cottage gives access to a beach path on the opposite side of the road. Stout footwear is recommended as the route, leading to a scenic coastal walk, tends to be wet after heavy rain. Criccieth is 20 to 30 minutes walk from Cennin along a well maintained footpath at the side of the road. The cottage is well located for touring the area. Our travels included Betws-Y-Coed, the Corris Craft Centre at Machynlleth and Porthmadog for food supplies. The beautiful Lyn peninsula is a pleasant drive from the cottage and Aberdaron, with its pretty coastal church of St Hywyn’s and sandy beach is worth a visit. The local bakery is excellent for a light lunch or afternoon tea. We had a most enjoyable holiday and the weather, on the whole, was good. We hope to return to Cennin in 2022. Jackie Smith H

• "The cottage lived up to the photos on the website and was nice and warm at the end of September, even with no central heating on."

  It was situated just outside the town with easy access to Criccieth on foot or by car. A visit to nearby Portmeirion is a must, and luckily we had a warm sunny day when we visited. The basket of Welsh goodies left by the owner was a nice touch. We would definitely visit again if holidaying in this area.

• "We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and it was lovely to visit all the old haunts we used to frequent when we had a caravan in the area."

  The cottage was comfortable and well equipped but we had to take our own BBQ as they don't have one and there wasn't anywhere to dry clothes (we were lucky the weather was unusually warm and dry for late September). There is a large grassed area with a picnic table which would be nice to enjoy on a summers evening and the kitchen has patio doors that open out onto this. Although the website does mention it we found the main Criccieth - Pwllheli road that passes the cottage quite noisy at night when cars pass some at high speed - it just means you cannot have the windows open if it happens to be warm. There is a community pub about a quarter of a mile away and you can walk into Criccieth town centre which is about a mile away along a pavement, more facilities including supermarkets and a number of pubs are available at Porthmadog about 5 miles away. The Llyn peninsula is well worth a visit with some lovely countryside and many excellent beaches to chose from with Snowdonia easy to reach for those with the energy for more serious walking.

  Good location for exploring the Lynn peninsula, just need to be aware of the main road situation, took a moment to get used to that. Lovely 10 minute walk to the sea path. Was Good to get broadband installed whilst we were there as little 4g signal!

• "The house is amazing and the owners are lovely."

  There’s loads of room and the power shower in the bathroom is epic There is no wifi and signal is limited, however if your not planning to stay inside much it doesn’t matter! The garden is enormous great safe lawned area for children to play. One observation was that we were contacted by Sykes asking us not to charge the Hybrid car at the house - which was annoying. So many vehicles are hybrid with more being sold this thought process may need to change. Despite the charging issue we had an amazing week - thank you.

  The cottage was very much as detailed in Sykes literature and can best be described as warm, friendly and well equipped. The weather was not altogether brilliant but this did not matter in such comfortable and convenient accommodation. We missed our WiFi connection but overcame this by calling in at nearby Porthmadog Tesco, where free WiFi is available . We plan to return to Cenin in the future and take advantage of its location and facilities.

  If you are not a fast walker I dont think you would get to Criccieth or the beach in ten minutes. Social Media fan in our party would have liked to have had Wi-Fi.

• "Lovely house, very spacious and clean."

  The only downside is the noise from the road but you get used to it. The girls enjoyed the walk down to the beach on a morning before we went off on our adventures. We've climbed castles, built castles, visited the rabbit farm and rode horses. The food at the Prince of Wales in Criccieth is reasonable. We could have done with a couple more nice days but we can't control the weather. Overall fun holiday had by all.
