  • "Customer care was seriously lacking."

We twice reported some minor problems such as light bulbs failing or side lamps not working. As the weather got colder we were not comfortable in the kitchen as we couldn’t switch on the heater. But the main problem was the overflowing cistern which spurted water everywhere soaking the toilet paper next to the cistern and wetting the floor. We had to lift the top of the cistern and fiddle with adjusting the flow on a daily basis. My husband said that there was a part missing. Expecting the log fire to be cleaned out before leaving meant we couldn’t use it on Thursday evening since we had to be out of the premises by 10am the next morning. We are a mid 70s couple and this did not suit us at all.

As you are aware we spoke with you on various occasions during your stay when the property owner kindly arranged for a plumber to visit the property which you declined. Upon your departure we found no issue with the heating and as noted in the property information pack, do have a stock of replacement lightbulbs in the property. We ask that guests give the fire a quick tidy before departure and guests are more then welcome to use the log fire during the entirity of the stay". Property Owner

  • "I reported an issue with a broken door and was told someone would contact me which they never did."

The beds were very uncomfortable which i realise is personal taste and it would be helpful if there were hooks in the bathroom as there was nowhere to hang anything which was very awkward. On a positive note, the cottage was nice and very well equipped in the kitchen.

Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear that no-one contacted you back. This was due to a breakdown in communication between offices, and we would like to offer our sincerest apologies for the oversight. We were pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay on the whole and we've taken your comments on board and are pleased to say that the door has now been repaired and hooks positioned on the back of doors to hang clothes more easily. We hope to welcome you back to Cam Cyntaf Cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "It was all fine apart from the fact that one bedroom door was hanging off its hinges and couldn’t be closed!"

! Also 2 dishwasher tablets for a 4 night stay? Surely at £125 a night, one per day wouldn’t be unreasonable. But otherwise it was all good.

Thank you for your comments. We are happy to report the bedroom door has now been repaired. We have checked with our housekeeper and there was a full box of dishwasher tablets at the back of the cupboard under the sink. We're sorry you did not find them and will ensure they are fully visible in future. We were happy to hear you enjoyed your stay despite the above and we hope to welcome you back to Cam Cyntaf Cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in beautiful location but need to be relatively fit as on very steep hill and high garden steps to get from car."

So glad you were comfortable in our cottage. Sorry you found the steps from our private Car park an inconvenience and hopefully you found the gate access from the road avoiding the steps. Thanks for your comment because we will certainly inform future visitors that there is access from the road. Property Owner

About the location

Nefyn 4 miles; Abersoch 12 miles.

The small village of Llithfaen is one of the highest villages on the Llyn Peninsula, enjoying some of the best views around due to its location on the slopes of the Yr Eifl mountain range. The village boasts its own community-run village shop and local pub, which was established in 1988 and offers a friendly welcome. Llithfaen is very proud of its Welsh heritage with the Welsh Language and Heritage Centre and restaurant located just up the road at Nant Gwrtheyrn, which also has a pebble beach. The pretty coastal town of Nefyn lies 4 miles away, sitting atop sweeping cliffs, and is home to a fine, two-mile stretch of sandy beach, popular with families, along with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The village is also within reach of the amenities of the popular towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch and Caernarfon. In nearby Porth Dinllaen is the Ty Coch pub, voted 3rd best 'beach bar' in the world in an online feature in June 2013. The coastline around this region is dotted with castles and coves, while fishing, sailing and water sports are all available. The Snowdonia National Park is 25 miles away, with its dramatic scenery and abundance of superb walks. With its proximity to such a wide range of destinations, this area makes a superb base for a break in North Wales.
