The property

On the slopes of the Yr Eifl mountain range on the Llŷn Peninsula is the village of Llithfaen, home to this mid-terrace white washed stone cottage, Heddfan.

Ideal for walkers with routes beginning right from your door, this property is in a great location for seeing the best of the Llŷn Peninsula.

Retaining some of its original features, enter the accommodation and come into the homely sitting room furnished with a leather sofa suite, a welcoming sight after a long days walk, switch on the electric flame effect fire and rest easy in front of the Smart TV.

Tucked in the corner is the dining table seating five, a neat place to devise up your plans for the rest of the trip and of course a delightful way to spend an evening eating a home-cooked meal with your loved ones.

The kitchen lies to the rear and has all you need in the way of appliances for your self-catered stay, as well as holding a washing machine, perfect if your favourite walking gear gets a bit muddy on an eventful route.

Completing the ground floor is the shower room offering a walk-in shower so you can all get up, take a shower and go out the door to make the most of the day.

Travel back over the local Welsh slate floor of the lounge and head upstairs when it's time to go to sleep, with the first floor holding two of the bedrooms, the double and the twin, while the second floor holds the single room which benefits from a Velux window which gives fantastic views over the landscape and out to sea.

Sit out in the front garden where an enclosed lawn space provides a delightful spot to relax in on a sunny day, or take lunch outside on the patio picnic bench for a change of scenery.

A short stroll with bring you to the lovely community-run pub and shop, so whether you need some extras to make your evening meal, or you fancy celebrating your holiday with a pint in the pub, you have them close by when you need.

Begin your exploration by walking down to the sea and finding the Wales Coastal Path which can take you along the coast and will fill the start of your holiday with incredible coastal scenery and views you won't forget.

On another day, climb up to the Iron Age hillfort Tre'r Ceiri, with the name translating to mean 'City of Giants' as the dry stone walls used to stand over 4-metres high, and within the walls are the remains of over 150 stone-built huts, it's a must-see if you're in the area.

Heddfan is a delightfully placed property to enjoy the best of the Llŷn Peninsula.

About the location

LLITHFAEN

Nefyn 4 miles; Abersoch 12 miles.

The small village of Llithfaen is one of the highest villages on the Llyn Peninsula, enjoying some of the best views around due to its location on the slopes of the Yr Eifl mountain range. The village boasts its own community-run village shop and local pub, which was established in 1988 and offers a friendly welcome. Llithfaen is very proud of its Welsh heritage with the Welsh Language and Heritage Centre and restaurant located just up the road at Nant Gwrtheyrn, which also has a pebble beach. The pretty coastal town of Nefyn lies 4 miles away, sitting atop sweeping cliffs, and is home to a fine, two-mile stretch of sandy beach, popular with families, along with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The village is also within reach of the amenities of the popular towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch and Caernarfon. In nearby Porth Dinllaen is the Ty Coch pub, voted 3rd best 'beach bar' in the world in an online feature in June 2013. The coastline around this region is dotted with castles and coves, while fishing, sailing and water sports are all available. The Snowdonia National Park is 25 miles away, with its dramatic scenery and abundance of superb walks. With its proximity to such a wide range of destinations, this area makes a superb base for a break in North Wales.
