  • "Ty Gwyn was even more stunning than the photos do it justice!"

We arrived in a torrential downpour and were soaked to the skin just bringing the bags inside! However on entering this was all forgotton very quickly, the property is beautiful, so welcoming and homely and warm , the fire was roaring a short while later , the generous welcome pack was devoured and I've never known our family settle into a holiday home so quickly! Substantial comfy sofas to sink into and space for everyone to bagsy a top seat! Beds and bed linen good quality, and it makes a real difference! as were all the home furnishings and kitchen equipment. The TV and music facilities were very welcome . I also have to mention the lighting . Thoughtful and well designed - added to a lovely ambience everywhere. As for the picture windows and breath taking views , can't put into words ... we watched torrential downpours , bright blue skies, rainbows, gale force winds and enjoyed it all! Thank you

Thank you for the positive feedback . We love it when guests enjoy their stay. So glad the weather didn't spoil your north wales adventure. I'll pass on your gratitude to the local team who work hard to get the place comfortable for everyone. Property Owner

  • "Ty Gwyn Cottage was amazing!"

It lost certainly had the wow factor. The large lounge has floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views of the countryside, the log fire made it so cosy and warm. It was so comfortable that it didn't matter that they weather wasn't too good as we were happy to spend time on the property. The kitchen had thatvrral farmhouse kitchen feel about it, with everything you could need to prepare a family meal. I have never slept in a bed more comfortable and had the best night's sleep, then waking up to the stunning view from the master bedroom. I am a real fuss pot when it comes to cleanliness and I can honestly say that Ty Gwyn was spotless plus the towels smelt gorgeous. We loved it so much that we want to return next year. Shon and Beth were really lovely and there was a welcome pack and card waiting for us on our arrival, which was a really lovely touch. I would definitely recommend this property. I would rate it as 5 star.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback . It makes our role so much more rewarding when guests have such a wonderful time in North Wales. We would love to have you back next year. Property Owner

The views are stunning over Snowdonia and should the owners decide to rent the cottage again next year we will be returning for sure. Although there were five of us staying, there was still sufficient room to spread ourselves out, relax and have a drink of wine in the evening while taking in the warmth thrown out by the terrific log burner. A truly lovely holiday indeed, thank you.

  • "This is truly a beautiful home."

The perfect blend of old and modern. Packed with little luxuries - from the rain shower, the fireplace, the full Alexa system or the HUGE Smart TV (with Netflix!) to a very lovely welcome pack - with some Welsh groceries (the best jam!!!) ….everything is so wonderful coordinated with each other.. with the charm of an "old" accommodation, a MORE THAN 200 year old grandfather clock from the family (a real gem) and so much attention to detail. The view from these huge windows is amazing! The real seclusion was another luxury moment for us - QUIET AND PRIVACY are very important to us. However, the beach is within 10 minutes, Conwy Castle within 20 minutes and Lladando Pier around 30 minutes away. In every point I would give 6 out of 5 stars - our only point of criticism: it could have been a little cleaner - but we cleaned for 5 minutes and everything was fine. thank you very much! We'd love to come back! If you are ever in Germany, then feel free to contact us! Nancy & family

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. So glad you enjoyed North Wales . It would be lovely to see you back. I've passed your comment on to the property management team. Safe journey home. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is absolutely beautiful."

The cottage itself is spacious, warm and cozy, with wonderful views out onto the countryside. It was so quiet! The garden area was great to sit and eat or just read a book. It was just 10 minutes down the hill to Colwyn bay, with shops and a huge expanse of beach that never felt crowded. The North Wales Expressway was also at the bottom of the hill, giving quick access to the whole coastline. We went to Chester Zoo (50 minutes in one direction) and Caernarfon Castle (50 minutes the other way). There are tons of things that we didn't get around to doing (Zip lining, Electric Mountain, Conwy Castle - the list goes on). We will definitely be going back.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your North Wales vacation and found the cottage a good base. The area has a lot to offer and lovely to hear you appreciated the views. We love them. Thank you. Property Owner

The views go on for miles. House was clean and homely and lovely note and gift left for us from the owners. Friendly sheep on grass next to the house and cows behind, fascinating to watch. Parking down the narrow lane can be difficult but there is a drive if needed a bit further away from the house. House smelt lovely on arrival, keys and instructions to find were really easy. Family of teenagers really happy and home was very spacious and gorgeous. The pictures really do not do the home justice. Really didn’t want to leave to come home. Had a beautiful week and thank you for sharing your home! Hope you are enjoying your travels!!

  • "On arrival we noticed a large cobweb in the living room on the window inside with a dead spider."

I noticed when we got home on a previous review in June someone mentioning cobwebs, clearly nothing had been done. The bedding smelt of BO as did the pillows and towels so we contacted the rest of our group coming the following day to bring their own bedding, towels and pillows. One of our party didn't want to come when informed of the cleanliness issues. We went to make dinner that evening to find burnt old food on a baking tray in a draw, the glasses were dirty as where the nobs on the cooker full of grease. The rails in the large bedroom wardrobe had thick dust on them which would be at least months old. The previous occupants had left kids clothes in the draws showing the cleaner's are not checking. There was also a random sock under my bed which was visible as you walked into the room. In the evening we found another cobweb by the side of a livingroom chair. There are great large windows in the livingroom but had kids hand print over them. We decided to wash the bedding only to find a dirty damp mop cloth in it which stunk and made the washing machine stink also. We couldn't find any black bags for the bin so had to buy them and noticed the bin inside was filthy. The outside had visible cobwebs in the inserts in the wall and all over the ornaments outside which shows no care given to one of the best aspects of the cottage sitting outside. Unfortunately the 7 mother old baby with us tested positive for Covid on the Wednesday, if we had been happy with the cottage we would have stayed but remained in the cottage but we couldn't wait to leave. I have pictures for all the above if you want to see them. You state it's a range cooker but not that it's an induction so we thought it was not working, can I suggest you update your description to say its an induction. It would also be helpful to have a guide on where things are and how to use then, for example the Internet log in was on a board on a hook, so for example How to use the cooker How to use the washing machine How to use the air con How to use the alarm Where to park your car/s I myself loved the fact that there are sheep behind the cottage as did the rest of our party but its not mentioned in your description as not everyone might. I would love to hear back from you as paying over £1,000 for our stay with all the issues is unacceptable

We are sorry to hear that your infant caught covid during your vacation in North Wales and that you had to cut your holiday short. Hope everyone is fully recovered. We thank you for your feedback on Ty Gwyn Cottage and apologise for the delay in responding but as your welcome gift pack documented, we are away in rural USA hiking and WiFI and communication is patchy. To ensure that guests are fully supported in the owners absence, we employ a Property Management team to deliver services to the cottage and guests. We believed this to be sufficient and professional and they came recommended by Sykes. The welcome pack and information details had the Property Management contact details and they were again reiterated in the full information book which is located in the lounge. This information book printed in the Sykes standard format for ease of guest reference has all the instruction details for the cottage. Having been in contact with the property management team they sadly inform us that you did not contact them at all during your stay. They feel that they have not had the opportunity to address any suggested weaknesses of their standard of services. We double checked with Sykes and you also did not contact them during your stay. Please believe us when we say that we have taken all your comments onboard but from the property management perspective, you failed to report them in a timely way so that we could have implemented a satisfactory solution for you. As a precautionary measure the cleaning team have been swapped and a more robust communication programme has been implemented. You will be pleased to hear that all the guests that came to Ty Gwyn Cottage recently have reported no cleanliness issues or given us reasons to be unduly worried about the standard of our cottage whilst we are away from it. With much sadness that you did not let us resolve these issues for you when they occurred and we hope your experience has not put you off visiting beautiful North Wales with all that it has to offer. • "Beautiful house with stunning views."

The owners left us a welcome pack of Welsh goodies & a card, which was a lovely touch. Lots of space with Sky TV and the comfiest beds ever! Lovely patio to enjoy a morning cuppa or a BBQ on a warm evening. Great base to explore everthing north Wales has to offer - which is a lot. It might be useful to let guests know that the parking spaces are in front of the garage but in a different road from the cottage address. Although the house was clean there were lots of cobwebs and the toilet seat in the ensuite was loose. Apart from these little niggles it was a fabulous house, and a wonderful first visit to Wales. We will definately be back.

Thank you for your kind words. So glad you enjoyed North Wales. We've let the property management company know about your feedback Property Owner
