  • "Extensive mold in sitting room at top of bay window on both sides."

I saw that this was noted 3 months previously and not addressed. I sent pictures to property management team to share with owner. Rating would change if maintenance addressed. Nice location and very nice view. 10 minute walk to town - all flat with good sidewalks. Frequent busses. Close to Orme for hiking.

Thanks for your email and your comments I hope to go down to the property to see exactly what needs doing I hope by your next visit you’ll see the difference Property Owner

  • "Loved it. Beautiful building set in the picturesque west side, within a 20 minute walk to the east side for all the restaurants and bars."

A regular local bus service and corner shop were within a minute from the front door. Excellent. Inside the apartment there were plenty of towels, cutlery, bed linen, TV, kettle, microwave, oven etc, and all spotlessly clean. Excellent. Only downside was the mattress which was nearing its end. A sprung type that wasn't too comfortable. Tolerable. However, everything else was spot on. Would I stop there again, YES YES YES.

It would be nice to have a handle in the shower, we noticed there was a smell of mould in the bedroom, and in the living room we noticed that there was patches of mould

  • "I have stayed in this property many times before with the previous lovely owners, hence I knew I'd be happy with the excellent location, but was apprehensive about the flat given previous reviews."

In fact it is basic but more than adequate for my needs. As previously mentioned the sofas and bed could do with an upgrade, but I appreciate that takes time and money, and that some improvements have already been made. The "dangerous" label on the electric fire is disconcerting, but I was told it is just not working, and not a problem as central heating is good. So I was not at all disappointed, thoroughly enjoyed my week's stay, and am really looking forward to return visits. Thank you.

  • "Pros : Good position in west shore, good views."

Local shop and pub nearby and a 10-15 min walk into centre of llandududno. Fresh modern kitchen and shower room, overall the apartment was very cleaned to a good standard (apart from the furnishings see below) Cons : Immediately on entering the apartment we noticed on the fire a sign reading DANGER SAFETY WARNING DO NOT USE. We very concerned about this. The sitting area comprised of two couches, both were in poor condition, sagging when sitting on them and what appeared to be ingrained dirt on each one. Both couches appeared very old and worn and not pleasant or comfortable to sit on. There was no blind or curtain on the window in the kitchen area of the open plan living space. The window was at least 5 ft × 3 ft, which resulted in no privacy in the living/dining/kitchen areas as the apartment was overlooked at the rear by another block of flats. No radiator in shower room, despite there being one in the separate toilet, it was extremely cold when leaving the shower. There was only one small glass shelf to hold toiletries despite there being plenty of room for more. Also no hooks to hold towels etc whilst in the shower. Despite being booked for 7 nights in the apartment only one bath towel and one hand towel was left per person. The WC room had no hand basin which is not very hygienic, despite there being plenty of room for one. The bed had a very flimsy mattress and was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The windows in the bedroom had ill fitting, flimsy cream curtains which did not keep out any light, resulting in us waking early every morning. We were a bit concerned after we booked this property as we had seen a negative review in Sykes cottages website. Therefore prior to traveling to llandududno I contacted the property manager who stated that they were aware of the problems identified in that review and assured me they would be resolved prior to us checking in. On arrival at the property we quickly realised that this was not the case and therefore we immediately contacted Sykes cottages to highlight our concerns. Sykes contacted us later and asked us to send photos of our concerns to share with the owner which we duly did.

Dear Mrs Thank you for your feedback. All your comments are noted and will be taken into consideration. We were saddened to hear that on this occasion the apartment did not meet your requirements. We are always happy to provide additional towels, kitchen items and bathroom toiletries when guests ask for them. The manager was aware of your concerns prior to arrival. These concerns were discussed with you however at no point did the manager say that these would be resolved prior to your arrival due to the timescale involved. You were offered one of the three alternative apartments in the block which you declined. Kind regards Monte Rosa Owner Property Owner

  • "From arriving at the accommodation it was obvious the place wasn’t finished."

The windows to the front of the property were very dirty making it difficult to see what should have been a pleasant view. There was no curtain or blind to the rear kitchen window which was a full size window so privacy was non existent. The flat was freezing, the decor in parts was shabby and the facilities were basic or non existent. It could have been a good holiday flat but needs quite a lot of work and better furniture.

It’s very sad that you didn’t enjoy your stay in this property which was just being refurbished. We will make sure that a cleaning company will come down to the property and clean all the windows and we will also make sure that curtains or blinds will be placed in the kitchen window. About the boiler, as far I know it’s in fully working condition it’s a shame that you didn’t call the point of contact to see why the boiler is not working. Probably it was switched off or it was on a low temperature Property Owner

  • "A very pleasant apartment in a nice area of Llandudno."

The flat was well equipped and clean. The owners had left welsh cakes and tea coffee, sugar an milk which was a nice thought.

About the location

LLANDUDNO

Conwy 4 miles, Colwyn Bay 6 miles, Snowdonia 20 miles.

Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
