  • "Overall, we had a great stay, perfect location for what we wanted and the house is lovely."

There is a couple of things I’d change/suggest. My partner and I didn’t sleep the best, that could be down to preference of mattress but maybe an upgrade on the master mattress. I’d definitely provide better washing up liquid, we ended up buying our own to wash things as the cheap one we had to use a lot of and didn’t seem clean enough. I’d leave a couple of pods/washing detergent for guests for easiness. We had to use the camp bed mattress for the travel cot, I’m not sure how much it’s used so it might not matter but possibly buying a travel cot mattress insert would come in handy for guests as our toddler wouldn’t sleep if we didn’t put the camp bed mattress down. We provided our own bedding (which we knew and was fine). Maybe some hand wash upstairs too. Everywhere was clean although we did fine some sweet wrappers and trick or treat buckets which hadn’t been taken from precious guests. The grouting in the bathroom could be done and also the radiators are quite rusty. I did speak to owners about any welcome pack such as milk and tea bags. Tea bags and sugar are provided and they did say everyone has a preference for milk which was fine as a shop is close but maybe leaving some oil for cooking would be good too as most people wouldn’t want to buy one to use a few times. We would stay again

  • "The West Shire Cottage is in a quiet location, but still convenient for exploring both Llandudno and Conwy."

There is a supermarket only a few minutes' walk away. The cottage was generally clean and comfortable, though a few of the sofa cushions were a bit hard. The beds were warm and cosy. There are smart TVs in the lounge and bedroom. The only problem was they outsmarted our 72 year old brains! The cottage was compact, but had all we required. We have stayed there twice now, and would happily return.

  • "We had a lovely stay in West Shore Cottage during a particularly cold spell in December."

The cottage was well equipped, clean and warm. It has easy access to the town and the west beach and if you’re up to it a great walk to Conwy. A few minor points that in my opinion could just have made it a bit more homely would be blinds at the kitchen and bathroom windows, a table lamp in the lounge and a full length mirror in the bedroom.

    Reviewed by JeanDec 2022

  • "We were disappointed to find that the bedroom TV only played dvds no blinds in bathroom or kitchen otherwise cottage was lovely and clean would have been nice to have side tables near sofa and maybe a lamp."

..it was a little unclear what to do with the general waste on Thursday as no bin...? the location was great nice and quiet and yet only minutes away from the hustle and bustle.

  • "We had an overall enjoyable stay at West Shore Cottage."

Most of it was cleaned to a good level but the windows were very dirty inside and out when we arrived and some of the kitchen drawers and cupboards had food crumbs in which I don’t like. I emptied the cutlery tray to clean them out before we used the cutlery. There was also a long dark hair stuck to the bathroom sink, but all in all nothing that ruined the holiday. There are a couple of things missing in the kitchen like an oven tray to cook things on like sausages or fish fingers. I bought my own and just brought it back with me as I needed a new one anyway. And there was no large serving spoon, only one with slots in. Also the light over the hob doesn’t work and I agree with a previous review that a light over the sink would be useful. It would be my preference to have a blind on the kitchen window, firstly for privacy at night and also to keep the sun out because it’s really strong on that side and you can’t escape it when you’re using the kitchen. We used the recycling bins and put them out to be emptied but there were no instructions on what you could put in each box (mixed recycling), I had to look it up online. It was a bonus to have the washing machine especially with children, although I didn’t notice the outside washing line until the last day. I had used the clothes airer and stood it outside in the sun. Also where is the other half of the kitchen door handle? I tried to close it one night and half the handle was missing. We enjoyed having use of the TV and DVD player downstairs for family movie nights. We couldn’t get the DVD remote to work but once we replaced the batteries it was fine. I also cleaned the remotes as there was something splashed on one of them which is a high touch item so I gave them a clean. The downstairs space is cosy especially the use of the dining table, but the owners have made best use of the space available and the big corner sofa was comfortable. Upstairs, it was great to have blackout curtains in the small bedroom. I would have preferred them in the double room too as the early morning light did wake me every day but I guess some people wouldn’t mind this. The TV in the double room is a waste of time as despite seeming to have an aerial plugged into it, it had no live signal whatsoever. I quickly realised the lack of plug sockets upstairs. The dressing table is situated in a corner where there are no sockets at all. I ended up moving the mirror and stool to the bedroom window and using the single plug socket that’s meant for the tv, to plug in my hairdryer and straighteners (one at a time). I personally think the double mattress was either ready for turning or needed a mattress topper as I could feel the springs when laying on it. The kids were very comfortable in their room. There is nowhere to hang their clothes in that room so we used the big cupboard in ours. The only other thing to mention is the bath towels are very small (and a bit rough). Bath sheets would have been nice but not a dealbreaker. The house overall is in a great location close to the west shore and this is why we booked it. It’s so quiet at night, you can hear a pin drop. It’s a great base for exploring all the area has to offer. There’s plenty to do on foot if you don’t want to use your car. The wifi at the house was also much appreciated and never missed a beat, despite being used by various phones and tablets! All in all, we would stay here again and also recommend it to others, it just needs attention in a few small areas.

  • "Very nice, clean accommodation in a great location."

I would definitely recommend this accommodation. Minor improvements: Outdoor decking area needs painting & weeding. Broken washing line needs replacing. Patio doors in need of a good clean. Blinds on patio doors need replacing. Blind in kitchen needs hanging.

  • "A lovely, comfortable clean cottage in a great location."

We really enjoyed our stay. If we were to be fussy, some minor points would have made the stay even better: A light over the sink would have been useful, the knives weren't very sharp and another toilet roll would have been helpful (good job we bought our own!).

  • "The water system was not to our liking."

To get hot water you had to run the tap with a trickle of cold water until it produced some hot water. This made having a bath rather difficult. The television only produced one channel - Channel More4. The owner, who only lives a short distance away, came and reset the TV but we were unable to access normal channels after his visit. We got the impression, from our own experience of self-catering holidays, that the owner was fairly new to the self-catering market but we left knowing that he would learn from people who came to stay. Despite these problems we did enjoy our stay in Llandudno because the weather was kind and we particularly like the West Shore area.

Fantastic views of the Orme from the outside decking and is a nice sunny spot when the sun shines. The beach with nearby cafe and nearby shop is just across the road and the busier beach and pier within 25 minutes walk for family with young children. Parking space is literally outside the property in this quiet side street. Inside this compact yet spacious house, it is sparklingly clean and tidy with an extremely comfy sofa and beds to relax and sleep. The kitchen is very well equipped. The owners were really helpful and friendly and the suprise welcome basket was a lovely and welcome suprise. The house has a fresh and light and airy feel to it and is a perfect location for local tourist attractions as well as being a relaxing home for stay at home days and evenings.

So lovely to find a welcome pack, it made the arrival welcoming and personal. The cottage is small, but contained everything we needed, and sensibly, not too much of anything eg crockery etc. The outside tap was a bonus to rid the boat and children of sand & mud before coming indoors.
