  • "This is our 3rd stay at Bryn Cytun and already booked for 2024."

We stayed twice in 2022 and twice this year so we think this says a lot about how good this cottage is. Excellent location for peace and quiet. Jude and Sean the owners can't do enough to make sure you have a lovely holiday and that includes our furry family member

Bigger than it looks in the photos but watch out for the low doorway! The wine and dog treats were a nice touch. Perfect for trips out and a half hour walk along the beach to a great pub. We would come back.

  • "The cottage was spotlessly clean, and it was nice to be on one level (once we got used to the shallow step in the corridor!"

). The warm weather helped, but it was nice to be able to come back to a cosy space. Generally, I bring a lot of my own kitchen equipment anyway, such as apron, dishcloths, sharp knives, etc, but some of the recommendations didn't match up with what was there (oven gloves were provided despite being in the list of things to bring). I appreciate how very hard it must be to keep track of everything and stuff is bound to go amiss/get broken. As there were only two of us, we managed OK with the number of glasses, plates and bowls, etc, but four people may have struggled a bit, or had to use the dishwasher every day (perhaps that's what people do normally!). I would have found a full list of what kitchen equipment was in the property more useful than suggestions of what to bring. We found some interesting walks around the cottage during our stay.

Thankyou for your feedback & pleased you were generally pleased with the cottage & had a good holiday,I wasn't actually aware that their was a list of things that were provided or recommend you bring, I certainly haven't been consulted over it, I have always provided oven gloves etc, if you could let me know who you booked with, it would be much appreciated, thankyou. Thankyou for you're feedback, so pleased you enjoyed The Cottage & would recommend, Sorry you were too warm, as it was late April early May, I still found it quite cool in the evenings & decided to wait a little longer for the summer duvet, but I would have gladly popped it over for you, the mattress is a very tricky one, I was thinking of getting a new one this season , but someone mentioned it was too soft & another said it was hard,it is quite a dilemma, hope you return & hopefully get to meet you! Beach is a 15 minute stroll away. Jude the owner is lovely if you get the chance to meet her. We have stayed in many self catering cottages but, very rare have we had provisions provided such as tea, coffee, sugar etc. Lovely touch with a bottle of wine for us and a ball and treats for our four legged family member. This is our 2nd visit this year to this cottage and we have booked to stay again in March. We love it so much.

  • "The cottage really needed a decent size clothes dryer."

The owner said there was a small washing line, but that’s no good if it rains every day. Which it did for us. The toilet flush constantly kept jamming and needs fixing. You pressed the button down to flush but it wouldn’t pop back up… Every Sykes property I’ve stayed in before always has a cupboard with sugar, foil, a couple of dishwasher tablets, etc. This only had a tiny salt and pepper both of which were empty practically. That was annoying.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with the airer provided. We have now updated this and there is both a small or large airer to choose from. Unfortunately there was a fault found with the toilet, although a temporary fix has been provided until there is availability in the calendar for the job to be done in full. We would usually have a supply of basics (salt, pepper sugar) in the property to fill up the smaller vessels. I must have missed checking this on the changeover, although there should have been an ample supply left. If you had contacted me with any of these issues during your stay, I'd have been happy to assist you with them. My apologies and it was lovely to meet you. Property Owner

The kitchen has great equipment including a new oven. The spacious lounge is a lovely comfortable space and comes alive when the fire is lit in the chilly evenings. The main bedroom is very roomy and has the access to the garden. The bathroom has the best shower available on Sykes bar none. Lots of local things to do and plenty of places to stock up or eat out. • "We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay in this beautifully situated ,well equipped cottage."

it was so convenient for beaches and exploring the peninsula with bikes, car and walks. It was quiet and comfortable and the proprietor, Jude, was so helpful, kind and unobtrusive . One tiny thing, which as it was Autumn, wasn't really an issue, was that we couldn't open the french doors to the garden from the bedroom. My goodness though what a plethora of wardrobe space, will have to go for at least a month next time.
