  • "The photos showing the view from the back garden were slightly inaccurate in that much of the tremendous views across the valley were blocked by several high trees."

They’re good for screening and privacy but maybe should be cut back a bit. The taps in the downstairs bathroom were very stiff and when they did release water it was very fierce meaning you often ended up splashing yourself! Both relatively minor issues but why I haven’t given 5 stars but only just. I’d certainly go back and really appreciated as others have the helpfulness of the caretaker

  • "This was our 2nd visit to the property."

Everything is as listed. Lots of room both inside and out. The rear garden allows for some fantastic views. Great location for visiting North Wales and Snowdonia. Good facilities in the village. If you also want peace and quiet then Plas Madog is the venue. No issues at all and Elwyn called by on our last day to check all had been good. Highly recommended.

  • "Lovely cottage and very good location."

Let down by a few minor thing’s. When we got there at 5pm there was no outside lights, which made locating the key safe difficult. Fortunately we didn’t use the dishwasher because we found the seal in a cupboard and no note to say don’t use it. The fridge in the kitchen should be swapped for the one in the utility, tried to adjust but alway’s frozen inside. Also it’s the 1st time in over 10 year’s of renting cottage’s and the 3rd cottage we have rented this year. But this cottage was the only one that didn’t provide a welcome pack, not even a small bottle of milk. If these minor issue’s were put right then it would have been 5 star’s.

There are many things to see and do in the local area and I would definitely revisit the area. The property and furnishings are a little tired and could do with a refresh or refurbishment. The photographs on the website are not up to date.

  • "Plas Madog Isa: Plus: Nice big place, peaceful area & good location for touring."

Great amazing garden area quite **secure, nice big place with two(very handy) Fridge/freezers. Met caretaker very helpful. Minus: **except cud do wid fencing @bottom 2ft of gate. Dodgy getting out onto road really needs mirrors to see both ways. Patio doors need locks sorting/fiddly. Dishwasher seals at front need fixing difficult to get bottom tray out. Could do with Tv's in bedrooms, ideally would like suite with leg supports/or pouffe's. General: Llanrwst Town general shops ok, Co-op big store is good but otherwise not much to do in the town. Llandudno too hectic-but enjoyed chugging boat ride, nice Pier with stalls & arcades-plus dogs

  • "Perfect central location."

Found the facilities in the cottage really good, loved having the utility area which was perfect when returning home from a muddy walk. The caretaker was extremely helpful. Only very slight thing was the bedroom curtains are very thin so it was hard to get my children to sleep as the room was very light. The garden and views are beautiful, very quiet and would definitely return to this cottage if we come to Wales again.

  • "There were 3 adults 2 teenage boys and 2 dogs we had lots of space."

The garden was great with plenty of room for the dogs and to do yoga. Good space inside I particularly liked the boot room and utility room. There was a good washer and separate dryer on site. It was a good place to base yourself for an active holiday in North Wales. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. We left a pair of trainers, a pair of boots and some art material behind and he packed it all up in a box and sent it to us.

  • "We had the best week at the cottage."

The weather wasn't great but it didn't stop us enjoying our break. The cottage was perfect for us and our dog. It was very spacious, light and airy and clean. The garden was massive and the dog enjoyed running round and do laps of the house. The view from the house was stunning. It's perfect location meant we were just on the edge of the town so it was very quiet but only 10 minutes walk into town. It was the perfect location for the walks we had planned too. Although restrictions were still in place for outside dining that wasn't a problem. The Eagle Hotel had under cover tables with lovely views of the river. The staff were very friendly and the food was good honest pub grub. Also highly recommended Tir a Mor fish and chip shop it was the best takeaway food we've had - fresh and homemade. The only thing that let the cottage down was the showers, they were small and not very powerful. A BBQ would be a great addition. Having said that we would definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for a great holiday.

  • "Very comfortable cottage that suited all."

The children (4 & 2), and dog, really loved running around the “race track” in the garden; ideally placed bushes that create a circuit in the garden. Dishwasher could do with some fixing of the seal that doesn’t quite fit and causes some difficulty in getting items in bottom compartment. Would definitely return as quite central for many of the attractions in and around Snowdonia.

  • "Fabulous, spacious holiday house with views across the valley."

Plenty for the whole family to do in the area - zip world, walking, watersports, mount snowdon, conwy falls, the zoo, bodnant gardens... The owner had gone to lengths to ensure a covid-secure place to stay and the caretaker was on hand and very friendly when we needed him. I wouldn't say it was 'spotless' but very clean. The bathroom needs updating but is clean and functional. The sofas (as in most holiday rentals, we find) could do with replacing. But these are minor issues. The house is light, spacious and great for playing in the garden with the children. Plenty of space for the four of us, in a great location.

  • "Wonderful views from the garden, so much space indoors and out for the whole family to relax and enjoy."

The house is very central to enjoy the whole of Snowdonia and the beaches. Anglesey is only a 40 minute drive with breathtaking scenery to enjoy on route via A5. The nearby village of Llanwrst is easily accessible on foot or by car and offers a wide range of shops, restaurants and takeaways. We couldn’t fault the holiday, even the weather was kind to us. Thanks to Elwyn for his warm welcome, generosity and continued kindness.

Particularly liked the laundry and utility area. Great for getting the muddy boots off after one of the walks right from the door into the beautiful scenery. Plenty of parking space for the extended family who live locally to visit us and meet our new grandson. Only one gripe! The central heating system made loud rattling noises at intervals throughout the night which was annoying. I suspect the radiators need regulating or servicing. Apart from that everything was brilliant and with the facilities on hand in Llanrwst, a very convenient spot to visit mountains and coast. I'm sure we will be back again.

Freezers, washing machine and tumble dryer were very useful. The garden was excellent, our dogs loved it. The only issue was the mattress in the upstairs bedroom, it definitely needs replacing as it is too soft and uncomfortable as you can feel the bed frame underneath. The location was great. Lots of walks and things to do nearby. Tried a few places to eat and loved Chandlers at Trefriw.

Ideally placed to travel further into Snowdonia and also to head to the coast - LLandudno is a must! Conwy was lovely too. Highly recommend the pub at the bottom of the street - the food was amazing and the host excellent. The mattress in the bed upstairs is very soft - a new one would be great. Similarly, the couches were a little soft - but these are small points and subjective.

  • "Quiet location."

Lovely views. Ideally situated out of village but near enough for facilities. Plenty of space inside and out. Garden is over-looked by neighbouring property (not shown in photos) Fully enclosed (if you close the driveway gate on arrival) wrap around garden, except small dogs could get through the wooden gate bars and be straight onto the road. Wire mesh fencing on the gate would solve this issue. Everything supplied for your basic needs. Mattresses and sofas have seen better days, in our opinion. House was cold on arrival. Had to search for thermostat and first ever holiday (in 29 years all over the UK) with no welcome basket. Could have done without going to the shops for basics after travelling all day. Good wi-fi. Basic Freewiew on T.V. Kept losing BBC signal.

Really quiet and peaceful. Walk to Llanwrst for provisions is easy enough if you don't want to drive. Loved RAF jet spotting! Bets y Coed 4 miles away. Good places to eat in Llanwrst and a leisure centre.

Llanrwst is a thriving market town which stands in the beautiful Conwy Valley, only four miles from picturesque Betws-y-Coed, known as the 'Gateway to Snowdonia' and which is North Wales's most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
