Can't fault the house it's setting or its amenities. Only one little thing was the creaking floorboard on the landing upstairs.the kids had great fun with it and being Halloween night it sort of fit in. Situated on the edge of the national park it's an ideal base for all things outdoor. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for a holiday home. Ideal for a family. We were four adults, two children 8 and 5 and two dogs.

  • "This was our second visit to Plas Madog Isa and we were not disappointed."

The cottage is very spacious and has everything we needed for the four of us and our two dogs. Just a pity the weather was not as good as last year to be able to spend lots of time in the lovely garden but nobody can do anything about that! Still really pleasant sitting in any of the rooms and looking out at the view. There is plenty to do in the area including a whisky tour of the Penderyn distillery in Llandudno, well worth a visit even if you don’t like whisky. We had excellent meals out at the Tal y Cafn pub and Dylan’s in Llandudno. We would certainly hope to return sometime next year if we are able. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Secure garden for the dogs, plenty of room inside and good cooking facilities. The rooms were comfortable and all with fantastic views. Nice to have a separate dinning room for eating together as well. The landlord was very friendly and took the trouble to call us before our arrival to discuss the bed configuration needed for our party, which was appreciated and meant that the rooms were made to twin or double as required. I recommend this holiday home and look forward to returning.

One or two of the French doors perhaps need a bit of an overhaul but that didn’t impact on our appreciation of the quality of the accommodation. It’s great to stay somewhere and not feel you have to go anywhere else to have a good time (though of course you can and we did). I’d love to retire here one day!

The locks on the downstairs bedroom French windows were broken and the doors could not be used.

Your very helpful feedback is much appreciated. With regard to the water pressure, this has been an issue in the past as the pressure in the mains varies. We'll try to adjust the pressure within the house to see if this works. We were not aware that there was a problem with the locks of the French windows in one of the ground floor bedrooms, so this is very helpful and we'll have it seen to. They’re good for screening and privacy but maybe should be cut back a bit. The taps in the downstairs bathroom were very stiff and when they did release water it was very fierce meaning you often ended up splashing yourself! Let down by a few minor thing’s. When we got there at 5pm there was no outside lights, which made locating the key safe difficult. Fortunately we didn’t use the dishwasher because we found the seal in a cupboard and no note to say don’t use it. The fridge in the kitchen should be swapped for the one in the utility, tried to adjust but alway’s frozen inside. Also it’s the 1st time in over 10 year’s of renting cottage’s and the 3rd cottage we have rented this year. But this cottage was the only one that didn’t provide a welcome pack, not even a small bottle of milk. If these minor issue’s were put right then it would have been 5 star’s.

Dodgy getting out onto road really needs mirrors to see both ways. Patio doors need locks sorting/fiddly. Dishwasher seals at front need fixing difficult to get bottom tray out. Could do with Tv's in bedrooms, ideally would like suite with leg supports/or pouffe's. General: Llanrwst Town general shops ok, Co-op big store is good but otherwise not much to do in the town. Llandudno too hectic-but enjoyed chugging boat ride, nice Pier with stalls & arcades-plus dogs

The weather wasn't great but it didn't stop us enjoying our break. The cottage was perfect for us and our dog. It was very spacious, light and airy and clean. The garden was massive and the dog enjoyed running round and do laps of the house. The view from the house was stunning. It's perfect location meant we were just on the edge of the town so it was very quiet but only 10 minutes walk into town. It was the perfect location for the walks we had planned too. Although restrictions were still in place for outside dining that wasn't a problem. The Eagle Hotel had under cover tables with lovely views of the river. The staff were very friendly and the food was good honest pub grub. Also highly recommended Tir a Mor fish and chip shop it was the best takeaway food we've had - fresh and homemade. The only thing that let the cottage down was the showers, they were small and not very powerful. A BBQ would be a great addition. Having said that we would definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for a great holiday.

The children (4 & 2), and dog, really loved running around the “race track” in the garden; ideally placed bushes that create a circuit in the garden. Plenty for the whole family to do in the area - zip world, walking, watersports, mount snowdon, conwy falls, the zoo, bodnant gardens... The owner had gone to lengths to ensure a covid-secure place to stay and the caretaker was on hand and very friendly when we needed him. I wouldn't say it was 'spotless' but very clean. The bathroom needs updating but is clean and functional. The sofas (as in most holiday rentals, we find) could do with replacing. But these are minor issues. Particularly liked the laundry and utility area. Great for getting the muddy boots off after one of the walks right from the door into the beautiful scenery. Plenty of parking space for the extended family who live locally to visit us and meet our new grandson. Only one gripe! The central heating system made loud rattling noises at intervals throughout the night which was annoying. I suspect the radiators need regulating or servicing. Lovely views. Ideally situated out of village but near enough for facilities. Plenty of space inside and out. Garden is over-looked by neighbouring property (not shown in photos) Fully enclosed (if you close the driveway gate on arrival) wrap around garden, except small dogs could get through the wooden gate bars and be straight onto the road. Wire mesh fencing on the gate would solve this issue. Everything supplied for your basic needs. Mattresses and sofas have seen better days, in our opinion. House was cold on arrival. Had to search for thermostat and first ever holiday (in 29 years all over the UK) with no welcome basket. Could have done without going to the shops for basics after travelling all day. Good wi-fi. About the location

LLANRWST

Betws-y-Coed 4 miles; Conwy 10 miles.

Llanrwst is a thriving market town which stands in the beautiful Conwy Valley, only four miles from picturesque Betws-y-Coed, known as the 'Gateway to Snowdonia' and which is North Wales's most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
