  • "This was my first booking via Sykes, booked without much research only a few days before staying."

We were more than happy with our stay, the cottage was clean and tidy and the owners had provided just about every thing needed (except bath towels...bring your own!). Fully decorated for Christmas, a welcome hamper was a big surprise! The cottage has everything required for a relaxing stay; all the usual kitchen & bathroom equipment, toys, games, DVDs, wifi (although a bit slow) and much more. Parking, there is off road parking & I did manage to park my VW T5 SWB camper Van on the drive...but I don't think it would be possible with a longer vehicle....there is a free public car park a tiny walk away.

Thank you for choosing Dolfor and taking the time to give your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are in the process of trying to address the WiFi issue . Property Owner

  • "The cottage was perfect."

Absolutely everything you needed was there together with a welcome pack including milk and wine! It was warm and comfortable and everything worked as it should (shower, oven, washer, tv etc etc). We walked almost everywhere; there is a hotel restaurant nearby which served delicious meals and a local pub (in which the only language you hear, understandably, is Welsh apart from your own English and the replies). A pint was only £3.80 too! The BrynCynan up near the roundabout was equally good and they do excellent deals (Friday we unexpectedly got 2-4-1 pizza!). The local shops are very expensive so take essentials yourself if you can. We booked in advance for an afternoon tea at Cafe Ni which was excellent. Pwllheli is 15’ away on the bus £3.50 return and there are most of the usual shops to be found. I wouldn’t hesitate to Recommend Dolfor to anyone. We loved it.

It was a real home from home. It was so peaceful sitting in the conservatory watching the birds, whilst taking in the lovely little garden. There was an excellent welcome pack. The cottage had everything from a slow cooker to beach toys for the children. The owner was really helpful concerning places to visit. Nefyn is beautiful and peaceful. The beach is very clean and it is lovely to sit on the ample seating areas on the cliff walk looking out to sea.

The house was absolutely fantastic, I can't think of a single thing that the owners could have done to make our stay any better. Spotlessly clean, toys and DVDs left for our son to play with/watch. Everything seems to have been thought of. Very cosy and comfortable house in a great location, handily placed to explore this beautiful part of Wales. Great personal contact with the owner before, during and after our stay. Definitely look forward to staying here again in the future.

The cottage was very clean. You get much more value for your money with this property. We stayed here as a couple beginning of March 2022 and had 5 days. Its a mariners cottage. Stone built with original features ceiling beams and quaint interior doors. A beautiful modern kitchen and a lovely conservatory and garden. The owner acted straight away on my request to not use polish and air freshners due to my allergy before our stay. We had rain on some days, but it was nice and cosy to just stay in with the log burner and the sound of the rain on the conservatory roof. There was everything you needed in the cottage. The beds were clean and comfortable. The walks around the mountains were spectacular. This cottage is also ideal for families with children as well as just couples.

  • "A beautiful place."

Had everything you need from picnic baskets to beach toys. One of the best places we've stayed at and we've stayed at a lot. The only thing I would say is the space in the double room in the attic and the stairs to it was a bit of a struggle. I think the double would be better downstairs and the twin being upstairs but with that being said, I would still book again. The welcome hamper was a luxury that we wasn't expecting. The hosts really look after their guests.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We look forward to welcoming you again. We'll look at the logistics of the bedrooms. We do have less mobile guests who enjoy having a twin room with easy access to the bathroom. Property Owner

There was a lovely welcome basket with all sorts of goodies. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well kitted out even including recipes books from which we chose some things to cook that we had not cooked before. We throughly enjoyed the log burner. It has loads of games etc for all the family both for inside and out door use. We love this part off Wales so went on long walks, paddle boarding and fishing. We enjoyed several hours in the local micro brewery and bought some back for Christmas. The only thing that some people may find difficult is the height of the ceiling in the double room it was fine for me. I have no complaints I loved every minute thank you.

The garden is very pretty and has a great BBQ and garden dining table. The conservatory, set up as a dining room, is a good alternative on non-sunny days. The parking area is a bonus. Dolfor is an old stone cottage which has been adapted well for modern living. It is quirky and charming. The kitchen is modern and is kitted out with everything you could possibly need - cake making equipment, plastic boxes for picnics, a blender, sharp kitchen knives, to name but a few. The laundry area has containers with beach toys, BBQ kit, beach gear. We found everything we needed and more. Appropriate toys were left in the house for the two young children in our party to play with - a very thoughtful touch. The sofas and beds are very comfortable. This us a lovely cottage for families, contact with the owner is excellent, and it will be my first choice for another holiday in Nefyn. Dorothy Carr 23/30 July 2021

As soon as we walked through the door the house smelt clean and fresh and it became clear that it was very well organised for a cottage. The owners have thought of everything - and it just made the holiday so easy. The garden was great fro our two girls to play and release some energy and it’s literally a 2 minute walk to the play park and the little walks around the town. You can easily reach the coastal path and walk down to the beach - which is a good idea height of the summer as the beach car park fills up super early. All the information was easy to find and anything we couldn’t find we were able to contact the cleaner for more information and she was quick in responding. It was the perfect sized house for the 4 of us plenty of room downstairs for socialising as a family and they’d made the bedrooms so lovely, using all the space they had to make it work. We would definitely return.
