Probably the cleanest holiday let I've ever stayed at.

Thank you for your excellent feedback. Both myself and the housekeeping agency strive to keep the cottage to a high standard and it’s gratifying to hear your praise and appreciation- thank you. Property Owner

A home from home in beautiful surroundings. Cleanliness was impeccable, thank you to the amazing housekeeper. This was only our second visit to Wales but certainly won’t be our last, we intend to return to Fron Fawr to continue exploring the scenic area. We were blessed with unseasonably good weather which enabled us to enjoy some amazing walks. Highlights of the week, too many

If anything, it’s even more beautiful than the pictures. It was impeccably clean, excellent facilities and we couldn’t get over the sea view from every room! On a practical note for us with young children it was great having washing machine. The big living space was ideal for family meals. The surrounding area is stunning and we loved exploring somewhere new. Thanks for a perfect holiday.

  • "The cottage was mega cold."

No heating of any sort except log burners. A £5 bag of UV stabilised logs (light and not good burners) lasted 1.5 hours. We brought our own logs but went through all of them on the first evening. The lane running in front of the property had three cars and a trailer passing the cottage to the buildings/horses, stopping outside the conservatory to open and close farm gate each time. The gardener arrived on the first full day to use first a petrol hedgecutter, then a mower and then a strimmer, not the most peaceful afternoon! In the summer it could work but in mid September it was just too cold. We came home a day early. Kitchen facilities were good and the recliner in the conservatory very comfortable and if the sun came out it was warm.

We are very sorry and disappointed that you found the cottage cold. We do have a central heating system, with radiators in every room, which warms the house quickly and efficiently. It is a shame that you did not call the housekeeping agency or Sykes/Menai, who would have been able to get the heating working for you. As mentioned in the website description of the cottage, the neighbour does have access along the track in front of the cottage to tend to his horses and yes, as you have said he does have to stop his vehicle to open and close the gate near the conservatory. The gardener's visits are weather dependent and he has to do the work whilst he can. It was most unfortunate that this was on a fine afternoon when you were at the cottage. He does try to avoid visiting when guests are present. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at the cottage and the property is in a fantastic location."

We managed to visit some beautiful places whilst we were there. The track up to the property was not ideal and did scrape under both our cars(they are not sports cars as the description said) The property was not cleaned to the standard described, and I had to hoover and mop the downstairs floor within around ten minutes of being there as we had a eight month baby and the was not clean. This was very disappointing as we virtually lost out on a full day because we couldn’t check in till five pm. However as I have said the property is beautiful and we had a lovely week of family time.

'We are glad you enjoyed our cottage, but were upset to hear that you had an issue with some of the cleaning, and are sorry that you did not call the housekeepers who would have come out to rectify the problem for you. Regarding the lane, this is owned by a local farmer and he will be working on it in the autumn. He has to shut the lane for a whole day to do the work, which unfortunately makes it difficult to do whilst we have visitors. Property Owner

It’s a lovely property with lots of character and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. It’s on a hill overlooking the village and the sea with some great views in clear weather. We wish we could have stayed a bit longer and would definitely consider booking again.

  • "We had a great week at Fron Fawr."

The cottage is perfect, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The view over Nefyn to the sea is wonderful. This is an ideal base for visiting the many beaches and places of interest on the Llyn peninsula. Our favorites were Criccieth Castle and Whistling Sands. We would love to return one day. Many thanks.

  • "We have had a wonderful stay at Fron Fawr, the cottage is isolated above the village but absolutely amazing, it has everything and more you can think of needing (apart from mobile phone signal, almost non existent on 3)."

There is lots of space both indoors and out with lovely views over Nefyn and the sea. We would certainly recommend this to anyone and would certainly consider visiting again if available in future. I think the only issue we had was with the track up to and in front of the house, we didn’t expect it to be quiet so steep, narrow and rugged up towards the house and how often it is in use, literally outside the front door. Near to great beaches, lovely walks, wonderful places to eat and fabulous activities & adventures.

  • "The location of the property was beautiful, with views to the sea in the distance and a garden space that the children loved."

The internal space was divided in such a way that the family could "do their own thing" without encroaching upon others, which was great. We found the accommodation really well equipped, and as a three generation family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! In addition the owners/housekeeping "team"were really friendly and helpful and made sure we were happy and comfortable.

  • "The recycling for this property is once every 3 weeks and if you are at the tail end of this cycle, which we were, there wasn't much room left in any of the recycling boxes."

There was a recycling centre mentioned in the property information but this didn't seem to exist any more. We therefore had to take about 3 big boxes of recycling home with us in the car, which wasn't ideal. I just wanted to make the owner aware of this as perhaps they could get some more recycling boxes or offer another solution?

Thank you for your feedback on the recycling. The blue recycling bins should be collected weekly as detailed in the information folder. However I have discussed this with the housekeeper who has informed me that unfortunately the bins were not collected for the 2 weeks in question. If this happens in future, we will ensure the recycling is taken away. Property Owner

  • "The location was perfect but we were glad we were a group of FIT 60 + year olds , as the hill up to the cottage made for a good workout after a coastal walk !"

A great spot to relax in nature and watch the changing sunsets with the bats . Loved the Lleyn coast path with its spectacular views and hidden gems . The food in the different secluded pubs was amazing - a real treat . If the evenings had been dark then the conservatory would have been impractical ,as the lighting in there was insufficient for reading etc so it was good to have a choice of sitting areas . I hit a problem with the en suite shower but Gill and Nigel were brilliant—- prompt and patient . Thanks to them . We did put the hoover round the conservatory as soon as we arrived to get rid of dead flies and wood lice but that is the countryside for you and we just needed to relax and not be so fussy . We slept well and enjoyed the various nooks and crannies in the garden .

Easy to walk into the village to shop and pop down to the beach, but nice to be above it all and enjoy the view. Well equipped without unnecessary fanciness. We gradually got used to driving through the narrow lane!

  • "Perfect for our requirements as a family of grandparents, son, daughter-in-law and grandson and daughter and granddaughter."

The property was very well equipped and the layout ideal. Our grandson loved playing in the conservatory! Having a utility room and downstairs loo was also useful. Minor criticism: we found the venetian blind in the ensuite bedroom very awkward! We realise refuse disposal is out of your control but we were very disappointed having saved all our glass and plastic bottles, tins and paper for recycling to find when we took them down to the village that the containers only took glass bottles and paper so we had to put all the plastic and cardboard in the non-recyclable bin.

  • "I can’t give it 5 stars as the cottage was freezing when we arrived as if the heating hadn’t been switched on for days, The majority of Menai cottages we’ve stayed in give the first logs free then you have to pay, it wasn’t the case here, we had to go and source some as soon as we arrived."

When it did eventually heat up, it was cosy and very well equipped and met our needs. Not sure if the man in the bungalow just below the cottage has anything to do with it but we met him twice and he was very helpful, with a sense of humour. Miles hanging from the fence also weren’t pleasant to see, we live in the countryside and not encountered it before.
