  • "Very well equipped and comfortable."

Very clean. Only problem no working light in the dining room and 2 of the bedrooms, maybe the bulbs? Ideally situated for visiting the surrounding area attractions and nice sea views. Good TV and WiFi connections. We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • "Lovely cosy bungalow, had everything provided that you need."

Felt that description was accurate. Furniture quite old fashioned/old in places but all worked adequately. Good value for money. My husband and one of my sons felt the beds were a little on the soft side but I guess that is personal preference.

  • "We have stayed in many Sykes properties and have never been disappointed in fact we have recommended you many times."

Not this time. The bungalow was large, as was the garden, in a quiet residential location close to the pebbly beach. The front porch was basically dirty with soil and crushed shells, the doormat worn and dirty and front door had peeling stained glass effect sticky backed plastic. There was no dustpan and brush or broom to tidy entrance up so we managed with pieces of cardboard. We did not want to see that everyday of our holiday. On entering the hall the carpet was stained, the dining room furniture was grubby with stained chairs covered by inadequate seat pads. The kitchen was superficially clean but on closer inspection the oven ware was dirty, no dessert spoons etc. The three bedrooms were adequate but contained very old, tired furniture, the wardrobes were used for storage for old pictures and boxes and on looking for an extra pillow under the bed we were met by yellowing duvets so stopped the search there. As stated by previous reviewers the cot was placed by electric sockets with no safety covers, some bed side lamps did not work despite changing bulbs. The linen storage cupboard was very unkempt. The garden furniture was poor with only two serviceable chairs, the rest were broken and stored in garage. The fridge and freezer in the garage which we were 'welcome to use' were both black with mould and unfit to store food for human consumption. There was a bag of dirty washing placed on top of freezer. It is our opinion that someone entered the property while we were out as a blue 'wash me' bag appeared in airing cupboard on our return from a day out. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. As the weather was good we did not have to spend a lot of time in the property so managed to enjoy Anglesey. It would take very little time and effort to make this a lovely comfortable bungalow but in its current state we have no wish to return.

  • "A warm and comfortable house in a quiet location."

The pictures when we booked didn’t do it justice; the sofa and armchairs had been replaced since they were taken (the high-backed armchair was perfect for my 86-year-old mother) and we were delighted with the sunset views from the dining room window. The location was key for us as we were there to visit family and friends; it was an added bonus to have restaurants and shops within easy reach as well as the park just across the embankment and the supermarkets/retail park a short and easy drive away. There is still a little room for improvement - kitchen provision was a bit hit-and-miss (we could have done with some more large plates/table mats/coasters) and the double mattress has clearly seen better days - but, on the whole, Arwelfa exceeded our expectations and we will almost certainly return.

Nice and comfortable, all emenetiies within 2 miles.. Birdwatching on the bay , one minute walk away, down the lane at the end of the road. And as always on Anglesey, not too far from any of the beauty spots and attractions, Llangwyn Island and Aberfraw are favourites. Owners always contactable.

  • "The property was very spacious in a quiet residential street, within walking distance to a couple of pubs and the wonderful ‘Catch 22’ restaurant."

Our sons also loved exploring the shingle muddy beach across the street. As the pictures, Sykes rating and description do indicate, furnishings and fixtures are very basic. The living room seating was particularly uncomfortable and not fit for purpose if I’m honest. However, for the price paid this property was a real bargain in Anglesey. We appreciated the smart tv, having a decent washing machine and dryer and everything you need as a family. Property was also very clean and the beds comfortable. We probably slept better as a family here than at home! Highly recommended by the Gould family.

  • "I reviewed other peoples feedback since we stayed here three years ago and can’t believe no one has mentioned any of the faults."

The house was just about ok then but we only stayed there a week in winter and paid a fraction of the price we paid this time. The house is damp, there’s mould in the house to the point both my children were affected, even the shower head has mould on it and all round the shower base. The fire guard is a death trap for kids and falling apart, the draws in the bedroom falling apart, extra sheets and covers stained, the sofas old uncomfortable and thread bare, badly thread bare down to the stuffing, tumble dryer doesn’t work, we were supplied a high chair for the baby that’s covered in mould I wish they didn’t even supply it, and the heating comes on randomly even tho Programmed. The bins were an issue as the bins were all full when we got there. We paid a lot to stay here and wished we hadn’t. The place is dying for refurbishment. We left early from this place because we didn’t want to stay there any longer. It must be said that the neighbours were lovely, that’s the only plus point. We have pictures of all items mentioned.

The "damp" is in fact and old stain and the property is being decorated in November. The property is cleaned by company that cleans to a high standard. Following this stay, we had to make repairs to the property and pay additional cleaning due to the terrible state it was left in and the removal of a large amount of refuse left in Black bin bags. We believe the by and large of this feedback arises from the fact that we refused them any compensation. Please see the other reviews, which are honest and favorable, and we welcome back many return customers on yearly basis. This customer also had the heating on full blast through the hottest weeks of the year, which lead to a large fuel bill. We also had 3 neighbours raise complaints about this family. Property Owner

The neighbourhood is very nice and people friendly. You have a sea view from one window in the lounge from a distance which appealed to us. The furniture is very outdated now but as we are older and used to this traditional look didn't bother us too much and also we paid less as it was out of season. If I had paid the full premium in summer I think it would have been too high as the sofa was torn and curtains dowdy. It was a pity that the dishwater didn't work despite following all the instructions. On the whole we enjoyed our stay, it was a very homely property, spacious and clean..

On Anglesey nothing is too far away, and there are numerous beautiful bays to visit. And very scenic countryside. One tiny thing..on the directions it says turn right at the Kayak shop.
