You have amenities nearby, including a local pub just a couple of miles away and a shop, pub and curry house in the village of Baschurch.

The market town of Ellesmere is home to a bundle of Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, as well as a variety of shops, pubs and eateries.

You can enjoy strolls along the canal on a sunny afternoon or explore Colemere Country Park.

Towering over Breidden Hill, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, is Rodney's Pillar, a must visit during your stay.

Many footpaths lead up to the summit, where you can sit and admire the views of Shropshire and Wales under a sunny sky.

There is plenty for you to see and do, including fabulous walking on the Shropshire Hills and day trips across the Welsh border and over to the delightful towns of Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion and Llandrindod Wells.

The pretty market town of Ellesmere with its Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings quietly nestles between the Shropshire Meres and the well-known Shropshire to Llangollen canal, in an area renowned as Shopshire's Lakeland. Steeped in history and originally fortified as an Anglo-Saxon settlement, this peaceful town boasts a lovely church with a 15th century roof and was home to Thomas Telford during the building of the canal network in the late 18th century. The town also boasts a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as an abundance of entertainment on and around the meres in the surrounding area. Stroll through Cremorne Gardens, go fishing or boating, take some time to explore Colemere Country Park with its wonderful wildlife and scenic walks, or walk along the canal. A lovely location offering something for everyone at any time of year.
