  • "The photos do not do the property justice, especially the bathrooms."

The house is extremely well equipped with numerous board games dvds , coffee machine, 3 tvs . Position is also amazing, just steps to the beach and also close to castle, high street and chip shop but on a residential street so not too much noise except for people walking down to the beach. Parking isn’t guaranteed outside the house but we only had to park elsewhere once during the week (in free car park just round the corner) and then moved back once a space was available. My only slight grumble was no downstairs toilet but that can’t be helped in a house of this age and we are just used to living in a modern house! Overall I would definitely recommend for either one family or two families sharing as two double rooms and two twins

Never traveled to this part of Wales before and was not disappointed. If I had to find one negative, that would be kitchen cupboard space, we had very little room to store shopping ‘& that is me being really picky’. I would highly recommend a stay in this property. Beautiful!!

Low down in cupboard under stairs it was hidden by clutter of hoover, ironing board etc. (The power to hob tripped when the kettle element went). Generally very well presented accommodation. Thank you.

Well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Housekeeper Emma was so helpful too. Location perfect for the town and although quiet due to Winter season there was plenty to occupy the family with trips to nearby Portmerion, Caenarfon and Porthmadog. Had a delicious meal on New Years eve at Dylans and enjoyed the amazing fireworks that were set off on the beach by locals at midnight to welcome 2022! Would love to return in the Summer.

I have never stayed in a house which had so many household gadgets and appliances in the kitchen. My bed was so comfortable that I didn’t want to get up! The living areas were very well equipped and the sofas and chairs very comfortable. As my son said this isn’t a holiday house, it’s a holiday home. I cannot recommend it highly enough and hope to return for another stay very soon.

The property

This stunning terraced holiday house, just a stone's throw from the beach, is more like a boutique hotel than a holiday house.

If you wish, we will deliver cooked meals to you - so a boutique hotel it could be!

Beautifully presented, Maelgwyn is bright and chirpy and at the same time sophisticated, calm and relaxing.

A great house for special occasions or Christmas and New Year get-togethers! The sitting room is comfy and relaxing, with wooden floors, a living flame gas fire, leather sofas, and a flat screen TV and CD player.

If you want to have a little peace and quiet, double doors take you through to a second, smaller sitting room with a CD player. The bright and contemporary kitchen has a bistro feel with its gingham tablecloth, interesting tiling, wooden floors and a TV on the wall.

It is equipped for serious cooks with two Neff Ovens and a Nef induction hob, American fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and radio. A new glass roof in the kitchen extension really lets the light flood in and bounce off the piano gloss grey doors - gorgeous! From the kitchen, a door leads out to a lovely courtyard with a table and seating for eight people.

This is a little sun trap where you can enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, both with brass king-size beds.

The second room has a pretty bay window with views down to the beach.

On the second floor are two twin rooms with iPod docking stations.

The gorgeous knitted cushions and the interesting colours and textiles give it a homely touch.

You can lie in bed here and look over to Criccieth castle. The panelled bathroom has a bath with separate shower, wash hand basin and loo.

There is also a separate loo and basin.

The twin rooms share a further bathroom with a bath with shower over, loo and wash hand basin. The owners have taken such care in renovating and restoring the house.

The careful colour schemes combined with wooden floors, contemporary bathrooms, and a bright and fun kitchen. It's just a short stroll to the beach, where there are spectacular views across the sea to Harlech with the backdrop of the hills behind.

Day or night, this view is amazing! The fine seaside town of Criccieth retains a wonderful old-fashioned charm whilst still being contemporary.

The butcher offers local produce, and the fantastic Idris Bakery supplies the Portmeirion chefs! With excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes, Criccieth is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a break or holiday at any time of the year - and Maelgwyn is perfectly located for the town and surrounding attractions.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £400.
