  • "We enjoyed our stay."

The kitchen, range and equipment was excellent and we enjoyed family homecooked meals with meat from the local butchers. The railway line and level crossing "ting ting ting" was a cute feature of the property and we enjoyed looking out for the trains. Parking was never an issue and the property was well placed for access to the beach and local facilities. The family bathroom loo was a tad noisy and it kept us awake the first night, but we soon got used to it. The master suite was excellent - good views of the castle and sea and a lovely big shower with great water pressure! The twin bedroom beds were more suitable for small children, not the strapping teenagers we had. We gave up attempting to stream online TV as the WiFi was a little slow when we tried, however the selection of games at the property kept us entertained in the evenings. We felt the property was a little run down. Doors that did not shut properly, the sofas a tad saggy, the dining room chairs uncomfortable. We felt like it needed a little TLC and a freshen up and was not as nice as other properties we have rented in the past, however, it was clean and functional for our holiday.

  • "Lovely property in a brilliant location!"

Great facilities and we all had a really great week away. Especially loved the bath in the top floor bedroom! My only "issue" is the astroturf in the back garden - with the wet weather we had for a couple of days this did become very water logged - and a mat going into the kitchen would have been a great help x

  • "Swn Y Mor is ideally located in the centre of Criccieth and we were able to park our cars nearby despite the absence of allocated parking."

The house is clean and well maintained but improvements could be made in some key areas. These mainly revolve around bedroom storage as we felt there was a general shortage of wardrobes and drawer space for clothing. The twin beds were not really suitable for adults although they could adequately accommodate younger (smaller) persons. Our party consisted of 7 people but the lounge seating was not quite enough for us all to gather there in the evening. We did not, however, find this a major problem and overall we had an enjoyable stay.

I can honestly say that this was one of the best holiday homes we have ever rented. The house has ample toom and is decorated and fitted out yo an incredibly high standard. The kitchen diner is a real highlight along with the master suite on the top floor. The cosy lounge was perfect after long walks along the costal path. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. They truly make you feel like you are part of the community and the local area. The town itself is very beautiful and we would highly recommend the Prince of Wales as well as the fish and chip shop. Amazing holiday and we will he back.

  • "We arrived tired and looking forward to our stay The first thing that hit us was a horrible pervading stench I said it was like rotten cabbages ."

We bought various spray to cover it , but it persisted till the thursday I made us some supper and had to wipe down the table of the stale food marks We decided that we would stack the dishwasher daily till it was full , to save energy ,however on wednesday when i swithched it on the salt warning light came on ,so I had to empty it , we resorted to hand washing dishes I cleaned the inside , but not the marks down the sides, not of my making Upstairs there was only one room with loo paper The top shower roon had a black hair hanging across the two basins , there where hairs on the tiles and the shower was not very clean , we didnt use it . The other bathroom had dust encrusted skirting boards the floor was not clean and the shower drain was slow The loo made noise all night . We read the info that told us how Covid cleaning standards were in situ This was not evident and Inviting us to follow these standards was strange To get a email from the company re cleaning requirements before leaving is insulting We do not hire a property to do the house work before we leave. one further point , a downstairs loo would have been appriciated Criccieth was wonderful , we will be back , not to this property

  • "We had a lovely relaxing week at Swn Y Mor which was perfect for young and old alike, plus our two dogs."

The house was spacious enough for us all and the kitchen was very well equipped. Thoroughly enjoyed cooking and eating family meals in the fab kitchen/dining room. Bedrooms were all cosy and comfortable and we all slept well from the first night. We did not find the trains a disturbance (as a previous reviewer suggested) in fact our children loved to listen for them passing (only possible outside or with windows open - as I it is not a busy line nor are the trains very noisy) and they enjoyed waving at the driver and passengers. Likewise with parking, we didn’t have a problem all week (mid August and peak holiday season) and we arrived in two cars and used them throughout the week so complaints from us. We met John, who owns the property, briefly and he was extremely welcoming and friendly and even left us some drinks in the fridge to enjoy once Howe had unpacked. Communication was great and I have no doubt that had we had amy issues whilst there John wouldn’t have hesitated to help. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

A well stocked kitchen with all things you might need and some nice welcome drinks ! Thanks Good local shops & cafes within walking distance. If you want to eat at Dylan’s book before you arrive as they book up quickly. It is right next to the train line, which isn’t too busy but did wake us every morning around 6.30. Parking was a bit tricky some days but we were able to park on surrounding roads.

We were able to park 3 cars without too much difficulty and the 4 year old in the party loved the trains going by. The back area could do with a makeover and we had to avoid it when it rained. Lovely views of the sea and the castle - especially from the top floor. Would definitely return.

  • "The property wasn’t as clean as We would expect as the kitchen could do with all the cabinets have a good clean inside draws ( there was hair) and doors had runs down them."

Patio door glass was dirty and skirting’s in second floor family bathroom had not been cleaned . The patio yard at the back was really poor with gravel all over the artificial grass so not very pleasant to sit out there and I think it could be much nicer with little effort . Bed in the first floor bedroom is way to big for where it’s situated and I had to turn sideways to get around the end of the bed ( I am only small) so not because of me. We would not return to this property as we stayed around the corner in a similar house last year that was immaculate and far nicer and this is why we made such a Comparison . Upside , property was handy for getting around and was very quiet no one should be put off by trains as only a few a day and gone in a blink of an eye.

We had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday with a well equipped kitchen to prepare some of our own meals in. We were fortunate to have lovely weather so we made the most of the opportunity to sit outside to eat at the front of the house: overlooking the sea and mountains made this a fabulous place for relaxation. This is a perfect base from which to explore North Wales. Criccieth is a quiet coastal town which remains unspoilt. The owners were very kind, with a welcome pack of a few provisions including Prosecco and gave us great recommendations for eating out and visiting the local area.
