Both David and his sister Heather came to greet me and my dog Yoshi. They made a real effort to ask me how my day went and gave me lots of good tips and helpful advice. Charming people and a pleasure to be with, much appreciated and helped to make the holiday go really well. May I also mention Sam, one of your booking advisers who at very short notice was able to find such excellent accommodation for my trip. Top man and deserves a mention for his helpful intervention online. So well done Sykes for having great staff and superb venues. Can I also ask you if you have any information from owners who wish to sell their properties in North Wales as I am looking to purchase a property with two beds, stone cottage with character. Thank you so much, I will certainly book again soon. HPMorgan

Tyn Celyn Cottages

Llangollen 4 miles. This is a group of four stone-built terraced barn conversions, part of a development of six properties, which stand in a lovely location on an 80-acre working livestock farm on the slopes of the Berwyn Mountains, close to the World Heritage Site of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen Canal. Dating back to the 17th century, these cottages have all been carefully restored to offer a range of accommodation that will suit most small parties. Where possible, local materials have been sourced for the use in their renovation and many of the windows have been handmade on site from oak reclaimed from the farm itself. The cottages are supplied by purified spring water and free-range eggs are readily available to purchase from the owner's farm. There are scenic canal and hill walks, and canal boats can be hired daily for a memorable voyage across the aqueduct or through the Vale of Llangollen into the town. The Panorama walk is one mile away, from which on a clear day seven counties can be seen, or visit the world-famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which is just two miles away. Enjoy day trips to Snowdonia, historic Chester, or Lakes Bala and Vyrnwy and then return to one of these cosy holiday cottages to relax.
