  • "We had a lovely week at Tanrallt Cottage."

The weather wasn't brilliant but we managed to visit a lot of the beaches in the area and had some lovely walks in between the showers. The cottage was 5* very comfortable, cosy and warm. The kitchen was very well equipped too and a lovely welcome basket too. The local brewery Cwrw Llyn worth a visit too

  • "We had a lovely week in Llyn enjoying beaches, scenery and sea swimming."

Tanrallt cottage was warm and welcoming. Clean and well equipped. Wonderfully comfy bed. Large, airy main bedroom. The fast road felt a bit of a challenge until we got used to it. The garden area is delightful. Much appreciated generous welcome pack. Helpful hosts when we had a small query.

  • "The parking and vehicle access arrangements were not openly revealed."

There is parking at the rear but this is accessed via a very narrow and sloping trackway bordered by low walls. Unless its a small vehicle, the risk of scraping your vehicle is high. It took very slow and careful manoeuvring to get our car along the track each time. There is other parking on the opposite side of the road. The third option as set out in the literature in the cottage is to park on the lay-by on the roadside if there is room. The problem. The cottage is on a narrow but fast section of road with poor visibility splays. The literature in the cottage even advises when pulling out onto the road from where you've parked to get someone to stand on the opposite side of the road to wave you out and check for traffic! This isn't reasonable. I was staying as the only adult with two young children. I had no one who could stand on the opposite side of the road to watch me out. Parking in the space on the opposite side of the road may be okay for adults but shepherding children across the road several times as day to and from our car isn't a sensible or safe option. Not when doing this with luggage and bags from days out. The one time I parked on the lay-by, within half an hour I had one of the neighbours knocking on the door asking me to move my car as her son would have no where to park otherwise. The significant problems regarding parking, vehicle access and lack of visibility splays isn't made clear on your website when you advertise the cottage. I assume someone from Skykes visited the cottage and discussed with the owner about parking and access. But this key information wasnt revealed or made clear in your advertisement and listing of the cottage. In fact, its all made to sound completely different and easy and chilled out when the parking and vehicle access arrangements make for a whole different experience. Im a very confident driver so I dealt with it but I wouldn't stay at the cottage again and for a less confident driver the situation could be far more of an issue. It isn't fair not to make this clear. There are lots of potential customers out there who would be better suited to stay here - adults only with small vehicles. The Greek style 'garden' at the rear and the vertical and high drops from the terrace walls aren't fenced off. This is fine if staying as able bodied adults but it's again not suitable for kids and this is something that also isn't made sufficiently clear in your marketing literature. It's a shame as the cottage has been furnished to a high standard and is very clean and pleasant. The owner was also as helpful as he could be when I contacted him. But the cottage comes with issues and limitations which you didn't reveal or make clear. Had I have know about the parking and access issues and the extent of the vertical drops in the garden, I would have looked for a cottage better suited to a single adult family with two young children with a car that isn't tiny.

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful week at Tanralt Cottage."

It is very well placed to explore the amazing coastal scenery on the Llyn peninsula and the walk books provided kept us busy all week - we were very lucky with the weather. The cottage is thoughtfully and beautifully refurbished and is comfortable, cosy and well-equipped. Access is a little difficult from the busy (at times) main road and the steep narrow drive - but once it was mastered it did not cause problems.

With top quality fixtures and fittings we wanted for nothing. Very comfortable bed, we were very rested after a lovely week. Got in plenty of local walks and the cottage had plenty of information to help plan. Thank you for the lovely basket of goodies on arrival. Plenty of room to turn the car around at the back of the property, the drive is quite steep but was not a problem after we became familiar. Best approached from Pwllheli direction rather than Nefyn due to the turn into the property.

The description of it mentioned that it was sited next to a busy A-road and perhaps we hadn’t appreciated just how noisy it was when we needed to open windows during the recent heatwave. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a pleasant week’s stay in a beautiful part of Wales. Thank you. Otherwise a pleasant

We were blessed with a week of warm sunny weather so made full use of the terrace and yet the cottage itself because of its position and thick walls, remained cool and comfortable. We appreciated the generous welcome pack of goodies and Neil the owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We had never visited the Llyn Peninsula before and it is a beautiful, peaceful place for scenic coastal and hill walking, beaches and small resorts which are very unspoilt. Definitely a place to escape to and we cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you very much.

The attention to detail, the super quality of fixtures and fittings and all the treats from the welcome pack to the towelling robes and slippers, coffee pods for the coffee maker, chocolates and toiletries were lovely additions to the already gorgeous cottage. • "Unusual to have a cottage with such lovely fixtures and fittings."

The only shortcomings are the difficulty of using the drive and the fact that the cottage is on a 50mph road. Although the cottage has a parking area opposite, we would not fit our car in. The owner kindly allowed us to trickle charge our electric car as there are few public charging points in the area. The cottage is in an ideal location to explore the Llyn Peninsula.

The photos & quality of fixtures/furnishings are spot on.The Cottage is welcoming with a lovely feel from the moment you walk in.The little extras- welcome text, Classic FM radio playing & welcome basket, all add to the start of your holiday in a beautiful part of the country. The outside area does not disappoint either! There is parking over the road, around the back of the cottage or on the drive.Yes, it is an incline but not an issue when a little care & time are taken. We enjoyed lounging on the sofa & chairs up on the terraced areas-the view is stunning! Again the outside seating/furniture is good quality & looked after by being stored away easily. The peninsula is a stunning place with friendly people. Seals & dolphins made our holiday. The sun was warm & the sea was clear to swim in. Perfectly set in stunningly picturesque surroundings, it more than catered for all our needs. We found the owner to be very responsive and helpful, and the thoughtful ‘welcome basket’ was very well received. The cottage itself is ideally situated and close to a variety of gorgeous [and on this occasion, not even remotely overcrowded] beaches, and information on various other affiliated amenities is also readily available. • "We would rate this holiday property as excellent unfortunately we had a problem with parking as the drive is steep so couldn't use it for parking so had to park on the pavement by the bend in a busy road."

However we understand some alternative parking will be available across the road in the coming weeks. That was our only issue . The cottage is very well equipped and in a beautiful area .

Thank you for visiting Tanrallt Cottage, we are really pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and thank you for providing feedback. We identified an issue with low profile vehicles accessing the private driveway, as the cottage is built into a hillside and the drive is a little steep. As a result we have been working hard to make some alternative parking available. We are sorry this wasn't finished when you came to visit us. The good news is we now have alternative private parking suitable for low vehicles available adjacent to the property. Property Owner
