  • "This was a lovely , cosy property ."

Really well equipped , lots of thoughtful touches. We loved the enclosed patio . It was a real sun trap and we spent lots of time out there . The ceiling height in the bedroom is as described . I kept my clothes in the wardrobe/ drawers downstairs stairs and got dressed there so it really wasn’t a problem . It’s a perfect location for exploring the area . Very friendly hosts too. I would definitely book again .

It is immaculately clean and well equipped. We were fortunate to have good weather and enjoyed the sun terrace. The location is excellent for trips out to Anglesey, Conwy and Llandudno as well as the local beach and cafe. Would like to return and would certainly recommend.

  • "We had a very warm welcome from the owners with a welcome pack of welsh cakes."

Of all the properties we have stayed in this was by far the cleanest & well equipped, everything was to a high standard & very comfortable. A comfortable lounge with a clear large tv, well equipped kitchen with everything there which anyone could need, even alexa. A superb bathroom & great shower & the icing on the cake was the lovely patio with chairs, table, double swing seat & new paving. So much attention to detail. Lacking one thing & that is Sykes write up of the property which did not make plain that the bathroom was downstairs which can be problem for older less able people! In the same sentence it infers the bathroom is upstairs -Quote "Double bedroom in the eaves. This room has a chest of drawers for storing your personal belongings AND a shower room ---etc " I think you need to reword this so as not to mislead people.

  • "The cottage had everything I needed."

The bedroom was a bit of a challenge at first but I overcame that with no problems. The kitchen was really well appointed too, and I loved that all the appliances had the instructions. The cottage was ideally situated for all the outings I had planned. Rachel and Mike were lovely too. Would definitely stay again.

  • "We spoke with Rachel upon leaving."

The property was very well appointed but the description of the bedroom was disappointing in regard to height. For disabled persons we feel it would be a challenge and also person’s of above average height. The fire escape via the window is blocked by the bed head so moving the bed to gain access in the event of a fire would not be feasible, the inclusion of a velux window would possibly be an answer, a fire safety officer would answer that. Other than that the property was very good. Would we go back, yes, Rachel and Mike were very helpful, available if needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Bev and Phil

  • "After searching the Sykes website only 6 weeks before found this listing found it easy to book and had regular contact with them prior to stay."

No idea why this property was still available as it far exceeded expectations. As soon as we had pulled up we were greeted by the owners and welcomed. We spoke regularly during the stay checking all was ok and had a great recommendation for a special meal from them. The property was comfortable and surprisingly roomy and very well equipped with everything that was needed for our stay. We were blessed with good weather so used the large external patio area quite a lot in the afternoon and evening, plenty of seating and tables and well maintained. The property is situated just on the edge of the Village and was a 5 minute walk to local amenities we used 3 of the take away restaurants and the local shop regularly. Also 5 minutes to the seafront walked the promenade a few times and had breakfast at the Seaside Cafe before a local walk above the Village. Would stay again and would highly recommend this property. The Week went too fast. Saw a previous review about car size complaint and access. I have an SUV and yes it is narrow in places but I had no issues. just know your Vehicles dimensions and you will be ok.

All that you would need and more for a self catering accommodation. Pretty little courtyard, with table and chairs for a relaxing evening after a long walk. Property centrally located to visit all areas of North Wales. Also on a train/bus route to all main towns, if you do not want to use your car. Hosts live in a house close to the cottage. The property

Set on the fringes of the seaside town of Penmaenmawr, in North Wales, is this charming detached cottage, The Old Coach House.

Sitting in a timeless coastal town, within the borough of Conwy, you are in the midst of the most attractive part of the region.

The character, comfort and charm give it a magical feel and a truly unique sense that you are enjoying a one-off holiday home.

Be welcomed into a cosy sitting room with a large sofa and armchair to choose from, and benefitting from high, vaulted ceilings and a tiled flooring.

Tune into the provided TV for all your entertainment needs or bring a board game from home and gather at the dining table for a friendly game during those quieter evenings.

Walk through to the kitchen which is wonderfully appointed to the rear of the cottage and hosts all the necessary appliances with the added benefit of a washing machine so you don't have to bring your whole wardrobe with you during your trip!

Once the evening draws to a close, follow the steps up to the first floor where you will find a cosy double bedroom resting in the eaves.

This room has a chest of drawers for storing your personal belongings and a shower room for enjoying a long soak at the end of a tiring day.

The town of Penmaenmawr is an excellent base due to its close proximity to a selection of restaurants and pubs for that fine dining experience, whilst there are a number of shops and supermarkets are there if you fancy picking up some ingredients for an evening meal.

For an afternoon of relaxation, Penmaenmawr Beach is the perfect choice for all your sunbathing, swimming and watersporting needs, whilst the Penmaenmawr Museum is host to all the local history.

If you can tear yourself away from the delights of this town, take a drive towards the seaside town of Conwy which is rich with historical attractions that are a must-see during your trip.

Visit the 13th century Conwy Castle and the Conwy town walls, both with a rich heritage behind its construction, or choose to visit the 16th century The Smallest House in Great Britain and Plas Mawr.

Further afield is the limestone headland of the Great Orme, hugely popular for keen hikers to explore this stunning region and is ripe with bird life.

The Old Coach House is the ultimate choice for a seaside break to the coast of North Wales with your partner.

About the location

PENMAENMAWR

Conwy 5 miles.

Nestled on the North Wales coast between Llanfairfechan and Conwy, Penmaenmawr is an old quarrying town now adapted into a delightful community stretching along this stunning coastline, yet retaining much of its Victorian architecture, with many local pubs, restaurants and shops, a superb golf course and golden, sandy beaches. Set on the side of the Tal-Y-Fan mountain, many parts of Penmaenmawr and its sister village Dwygyfylchi enjoy stunning views across Conwy Bay to Llandudno, Puffin Island, Anglesey and the Irish Sea, and if you are lucky, dolphins and seals can sometimes been see playing in the bay. A recently opened cycle path leads along the coastal path to Conwy Marina to the East, and Llanfairfechan to the west. Or, head up the Conwy valley through the Sychnant Pass on to the mountain trails that abound there. The sailing club in Penmaenmawr is well established and welcomes day guests, as does the 9 hole golf course, set amongst stunning coastal scenery on the lower slopes of the village. On the promenade you will find numerous activities such as a skate park, a children's paddling pool as well as a beach cafe which is open most of the year. There are also beach huts on the promemade that you can hire by the day. Also near to the beach is a bowling green and all weather tennis courts.
