  • "Our second visit will hopefully not be our last."

The location is perfect, and the seaside view absolutely stunning, plus the direct access to the beach is a big plus point. Two years ago we had to mention some problems. The wonky front door is now replaced, and the owner responded very quickly when we had to report the ageing patio table was home to a colony of insects - no doubt as a result of the hot summer. Overall, it could still use some investment (e.g. more electric sockets, updated decor) but maybe they are looking to sell at some time. If so, we very much hope it will still be available as a hugely attractive holiday home in the future.

Access to the beach was great, no-one had an issue getting down the steps and we had people in their late 70's in the group. We loved it so much we have already booked again for next year.

Our minds were blown when we walked into the kitchen. The views are incredible. Most people staying spent many hours seal watching and general sea activities. Would highly recommend this home due to lots of space, and location. Very close to Angel Bay where seals come on to the beach. Was hoping to book in the winter to, but sadly fully booked already.

Unfortunately it was like living on a building site from 7am till 7pm some days. I realise of course that this has nothing to do with the owners, but would have gone later in the year had I known about this. Still love Dartans though

The main ensuite bedroom is fabulous with a fantastic bathroom, all other rooms spacious and 2 other full bathrooms. The kitchen/family area is very well equipped and has gorgeous views. There is a delightful large patio area with table and chairs. From here there are steps down to the beach but there is a high jump at the bottom so not suitable for all. There were 8 of us in total aged from 10 to 77 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, nothing negative to report. Certain things do need a bit of attention, mainly fridge freezer needed defrosting. The only real complaint is that there were no recycling facilities which given that big families are renting should be a given in this day and age.

I managed the trip down to the beach all be it slowly, as a 79 year old waiting for a hip replacement. However the jump down to the beach itself at the bottom was beyond me! Only a short walk though to the public steps down so not a huge problem. I have only one negative comment. I really didn’t like the smell of the bedding. It must be the washing agent or softener I guess. The towels were absolutely fine. I just pinched the spare pillow I always carry for my husband.

  • "We had the best time at the proprty and have already booked to return next year."

The view is what makes this place so special. Waking up each morning and having coffee over looking the beach made it feel like we were in some 5* hotel. The kids enjoyed being able to paddleboard every morning and the dog enjoyed swimming too, although the jelly fish were and issue as a few of us got stung but the water is so clear you can usually see them in time to avoid getting in their way. Also, be mindful of the steps down to the beach as they are quite steep and there's a bit of a tricky bit to get onto the beach so anyone with mobility issues may not manage. My mum struggled with having a dodgy knee and hip but we managed to get her down one or twice. The house is close to llandudno, just a 10 minute drive. We also went to zip world quarry to the world highest zipline. Definitely worth doing.

Our only negative was the mattress in the master bedroom was a bit hard.

Overall the house was clean and tidy, however there were a few snags which were written in the housekeeping book, most we could deal with, although the most pressing was a socket in the on suite bedroom that was coming away from the wall. Julie herself is lovely and extremely helpful, however the new build next door will detract from the property, I think for future bookings.

View from the kitchen is spectacular - we enjoyed watching the seals! A couple of very minor issues but they didn't detract from a great week away - downstairs shower room light didn't work so the shower was unusable, en-suite shower switched off once but quickly fixed with a switch (water pressure was fine and not low like other reviews have mentioned), lower garden past the gate is not enclosed as you can access the building site next door so not suitable for dogs but the patio is.

The property was immaculate and cleanliness obviously taken very seriously. The kitchen was well equipped, the lounge very comfortable as were the bedrooms. The view was spectacular and we did not find the steps to the beach too difficult even for two of the party in their 70's. We were aware of the building work next door but this was not obtrusive in any way. There were just two people on site, who were very quiet. Yes, as stated in the brochure, the ensuite shower was not the most powerful, but given all the other positives, it was of no consequence. I am pleased to say no-one in the in the party could find any negatives.

Just spent a very relaxing week in Dartans, fantastic location, spacious, clean and a holiday home where every bed was comfy. We were lucky with the weeks weather so sat seal watching on the patio most days. Steps from the house down onto the beach were very handy for our 2 young grandsons and our dog who all love the beach. Parking on front drive for 3 cars easily. Our only let down was there was no "welcome pack" on arrival for Dartans guests i.e. tea, coffee, milk etc, this is the 1st holiday home that has not supplied these and we have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years. Never before have we stayed in such a fabulous location, right on the beach, easy access to the local shops and v close to Llandudno. House itself is very well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable. One of the things that is often in short supply in places we’ve stayed at previously is storage in the bedrooms. • "We had a fantastic holiday here at Dartans."

Three generations of family, celebrating an 80th birthday, spent a week here. Having direct access to the beach was great and a very happy dog spent a lot of time fetching a ball from the sea. The house is very spacious and comfortable. The views from the kitchen are great. We could easily have stayed at the house everyday rather than visiting the local area. The house has a real home from home feel. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. We had great weather everyday and it was lovely waking early and sitting outside watching the sunrise on a blue sky morning listening to the tide coming in. An improvement would be to have a bedroom downstairs, for an older person to avoid climbing the stairs to bed. This is easily possible by converting the desk area at the end of the lounge, as there is already a door off the hallway. The separate shower, toilet and sink downstairs could be then made into one room and used by the occupants of the room as a bathroom. This is not a criticism of the property as it is great but this would make it perfect. One other small comment would be that there is no opening window in the kitchen. It was very warm the week we were there so we just kept the back door open when we were in there. We will be back.

Brilliant in every way. Plenty kitchen utensils. Cushions for benches outside, umbrellas, deck chairs for beach. Bedrooms comfy, on suit really large, Even though ten adults went we never cued for bathroom, as downstairs also had a shower separate toilet. We have booked for next year, As soon as we arrived back. Two living rooms were a God send, men acquired one to watch ladies football. Each morning we awoke to the seals in the sea, grandson loved sitting watching the seals through binoculars which the owners supplied, Fantastic sea views, right on the beach, steps leading down to beach not suitable for people who have mobility issues. Property was secure for dogs inside the grounds of the cottage. The only thing I would recommend is to remove mat in porch by front door very slippery. If possible put downstairs bedroom off living room and make the downstairs shower room bigger, to accommodate disabled people. As they too would love this property too. Remove front lawn to accommodate four vehicles, we did manage three vehicles but if four couples decided to occupy the property and each have large vehicle it would be difficult to park four cars. We all had fantastic stay even though it rained each day. I would recommend this property best one we have stayed in.

  • "Lovely comfortable house which felt more like a home!"

We enjoyed being able to see the sea and going to sleep with the lapping of the waves. We had chosen this house to accommodate a large family get together and it didn't disappoint!

  • "The house is beautiful."

We found the layout excellent. Best part is looking out to sea and watching the sun rise. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay. 10/10.
