"We stayed here last year and it was great!"
This year though, there were problems. Main one was some guy working in,and staying in the flat below. He parked his truck right across our way in,making us go the long way around, and he SNORED very, very loudly every night! some mornings his friend was there and they made a lot of noise in the mornings. There was no hot water on the first day and the microwave was DISGUSTING! The bedside lamp did not work, the wall light above the desk did not work and the fridge froze everything solid, bursting the milk cartons etc. .After a very tough year,we needed a break. We needed peace and we neede to relax. We got none of these. We probably wont be back.
"Good value for money very relaxing retreat with peace and quiet only down side was instruction to find the cottage"
"We phoned sykescottages up at 5pm and booked cottage for the next day very short notice and sykes was very helpful in this matter."
The cottage itself was very clean and a great place to stay. Only one thing and that is there was not any sharp knifes or scissors
"Really fantastic views of the sea and the mountains from the roof terrace."
So peaceful. Beautiful area with lots to do. Roof terrace needs a bit of attention as many paving slabs broken into tiny pieces. However it certainly didn’t stop us sitting out on the terrace enjoying the views. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you could need. Certainly visit again.
"We had a great time, just one thing, please get a new mattress."
"The accommodation was pretty good and was better than we thought we'd get in that price range."
One or two little niggles - not particularly serious - 1) There were an adequate number of saucepans, etc, but only the milk pan had a lid. 2) the saucepans had been left dirty. Aside from the above - all good - wonderful view - difficult to find, though.
"Sykes cottage team has been wonderful, helping us with the booking and then helping us to find the cottage (you have to search for Cae Haidd BACH)."
The cottage itself was perfect, with a view... and some sheeps :) a perfect place to stay and to visit Snowdonia.
"Compact studio flat a very useful pied-a-terre in northern Snowdonia."
Off grid seclusion in a quiet rural location. The property was cleaned so thoroughly after our departure that we were reunited with lost property as soon as possible. The only negative for the cottage would be that new patio furniture is needed and a bit of TLC for the patio itself.
"Beautiful spot on a sheep farm."
Very quiet if a bit remote. Access is not ideal as it is down a bumpy single lane farm track through fields but if you want peace and quiet and have good suspension on your car, it's a perfect location. You are close enough to amenities such as supermarkets and petrol stations although I wouldn't recommend trying to cook in this accommodation as there are only two electric rings which are situated on the draining board of the sink which gets quite hot if in use. There is a combination microwave but this is situated in a cupboard under the sink, practically on the floor. Access to the accommodation is up a steep, uneven stone staircase with no hand rail so I wouldn't recommend to anyone with mobility problems. That said, the accommodation is a nice, cosy little flat, the shower is effective and the kettle and toaster worked fine for breakfast - who wants to cook on holiday anyway?! The Patio furniture is in dire need of replacement - we had to take the dining chairs outside if we wanted to sit out as the outdoor chairs were broken and the table was grotty. There is however, a view to die for from the patio and on the one perfectly clear evening we had during our stay, I got to tick off one of my bucket list items and actually saw the Milky Way! All in all, a lovely stay but some small improvements could be made to make better.
"We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning next year."
Ideally placed for exploring. Enjoyed BBQ's on the roof top verranda with a glass vino, whilst admiring the views. Just what the Dr ordered.

Toaster eject button was broken , which set of fire alarm, was in a perfect position for sightseeing and the views were fab
"Ideal location for cycling and hill walking."
Very cosy with great views from the rooftop patio. Would definitely want to come back again.
"Great little holiday retreat for two, cosy with a rural feel to it but also a good central location"
"Make sure to get there when the sun is still shining."
The property is sharing post code with another property so navigation will take you to "Caed Haidd" instead and not to "Caed Haidd Bach".It is another 10minutes drive away to reach the property. You'll be lucky to reach anyone that can guide you on how to get in the property if you get there late at night ( ie: 9pm or around that time )Please make sure to inform future guests that they have to go around as cottage entrance is at the back of the property.
"Lovely little apartment."
"Great cosy cottage."
Very clean. Very welcoming atmosphere with set table and all.
"It was a very cosy cottage and just as described."
I did have a problem with hot water but is was resolved very quickly.
"A very nice location, excellent facilities, we found this to be a very pleasent and relaxing environment, have alreday said that we will re-book for next year."
"I loved it a great little get away and not far from the main attractions and snowdon."
Shame that the coffee machine didn't work the fire alarm went off when you made toast and there was a constant sound of runing water from a broken outdoor tap. But none of that mattered with a stunning view and amazing flat.
"Perfect views and a very quiet location."
"What a brilliant place to stay so many extras and the owners so very helpful."

Caernarfon (county town of Gwynedd) has much historic and cultural importance in North Wales. It is a popular tourist spot with its impressive 13th Century castle, well preserved town walls and delightful water front. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and is close to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of Snowdonia, including the renowned mountaineering town of Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon.
