  • "Mill Lane Cottage is in a quiet location with surrounding fields and excellent position off main road with direct transport links to Chester etc."

The cottage was very clean on arrival and everything you could want for a holiday was provided for you. The owners being next door was reassuring and their eagerness to offer anything that was missing for an enjoyable stay. Being a solo traveller I was most comfortable and would highly recommend. The mince pies and biscuits provided on arrival was most welcome at Christmas time.

  • "We had a lovely stay here at the cottage."

Everything was very clean, which is important to us, and there was everything you need. It was very peaceful at night, and the setting is great - near enough to the main road for ease of travelling, but far away enough to enjoy the country setting. A very comfortable cottage, and will definitely recommend and rebook if we are in the area again. Thank you

  • "This was a lovely, clean, well equipped cottage in a quiet position but within easy reach of Chester by bus if you wished."

Good wifi at the property also. Lots of things to do within the area without travelling too far: Chester city walls, Chester zoo, Colebrook Shire Horse Stud, Beeston Castle, Anderton Lift and Delamere Forest if you like walking. We took the train into Manchester for the day ( hourly service) from nearby Helsby to spend time with our granddaughter who is at university there. I would definitely recommend a stay here it had a very homely atmosphere.

  • "Very early morning activity outside property."

Not quite the quiet location we had hoped for. However, the cottage is of an exceptional standard and cared for by owner.

About the location

TARVIN

Chester 6 miles.

Tarvin is a bustling village just 6 miles from historic Chester. Tarvin boasts several shops, good pubs serving food and a wine bar bistro. Nearby Delamere Forest and Manley Mere offer activities for those who enjoy more of the outdoor life. Chester has been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England' - Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a small area there is evidence of every period of history; from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The City has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping, the famous 'Rows', and lovely walks within the city boundaries - around the old Roman Walls, along The Groves beside the River Dee or through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, and the market towns and villages of Cheshire, are all within easy touring distance, whilst the nearby Wirral Peninsula has many splendid courses to tempt the golfing enthusiast.
